Chapter 26
I didn't even look up, I just sat there staring at the ground but I knew he was staring at me. I couldn't even tell if I was crying because the water continued to drip down down my face, while I stared blankly at the ground.
I hear as footsteps came towards me, and wrap his arms around me
"Sorry, it took me so long." He mumbled into my ear while he helped me stand up
"No, it's fine," I mumble back while he starts to drag me out of the storage room
"Kageyama!" One of the girls yelled making us pause at the entrance
"Why choose her over us?" The lowered voice girl asks and Kageyama glared back at the girls
"Because my girlfriend is perfect just the way she is."

We silently walked back to his-our apartment.
"Kageyama," I call out to him with a million questions on my mind while he opened the door
"Hmm?" He hummed while he slipped off his shoes before walking into the living room
"So are we just going to dismiss the fact that you called me your girlfriend, again," I ask while I followed him into the living
"I guess that is the second time." He said calmly while he turned on the TV
"Yes, it is. What do you mean by it?" I ask while I sit down on the couch
"What do you think it means?" He asks while he glances at me
"I asked you first," I say pointing at him while he took the chance to grab my wrist and pull me closer
"Well, what do you want it to mean?" He asks while intently stares at me, waiting for my answer
"I-I-" I start while my heart skips a beat while all the questions I had quickly disappeared
'I want it to be real.' I think to myself while I bit my lip, unsure if I should tell him or not
He sighed while he let go of my wrist and got up "Nevermind" I heard him mumble under his breath
"Kageyama-" I called while I caught his hand "I want it to be real," I say while my cheeks turned bright red while I looked up at him for answers.
"For what to be real?" He asked while his blue eyes stared into my eyes.
"W-well, you know that the school is going to be filled with rumors of us dating. And I would rather us dating be real, rather than fake." I explain confidently while not breaking the eye contact
"As much as I would want that, I'm still scared of hurting you again." He whispered bearly audible to me
"Then why did you tell those girls earlier I was your girlfriend?"
"Because I didn't think about what could happen, I only wanted to protect you."
"Then don't worry what could happen, lets just focus on one day at a time," I say with a small smile
"But-"
"I promise I can take care of myself. Nothing will happen to me." I say trying to reassure him
"Are you sure?" He asked and I smiled and nodded
"I am very sure," I responded and the sweet smell of milk engulfed my senses while a pair of arms wrapped around me
"L/n, you belong to me now." He mumbled in the nook of my neck while cheeks contuined to burn red

A week or so had past since Kageyama and I started dating, and 9 days since I haven't talked to Akina.
"Kageyama, hurry up or we are going to be late for practice!" I call while I slip on my shoes and a of steps in heard behind me
I glanced up at him before softly giggling "Your hair is still a mess." I comment while I reach my hand towards his hair, gently racking my fingers through his hair
"It doesn't matter, my hair will just get messed up after practice anyways." He says while he finishes putting on his shoes
"Then-" I start to say while I pulled his bangs together before wrapping a ponytail holder around them "This should help."
"Wha-"
"Its stylish and cute." I say with a smile while I hold up a mirror to show him
"I look like a unicorn." He says bluntly causing me to laugh
"Aren't you guys suppose to be gone already?" I hear a sleepy voice say turning our attention to the messy haired Miwa.
"O-oh yea, we need to go!" I say remembering the time and Kageyama grabbed my hand before pulling me out the door
"Bye, Miwa!" I said before the door closed before trying to keep up with Kageyama
"How long is your sister going to be staying there?" I asked while we ran
"Why do you want time alone with me?" Kageyama asks teasingly
"N-No." I said with bright red cheeks
"She said she will be leaving in a few weeks." He told me while we made it to the school gates
"Isn't that after you leave for the training camp?"
"I FORGOT TO STUDY!" He suddenly says, reminding me that the finals are in a couple of days
He pulls out his notebook trying to remember what he can.
"What was that English word we learned yesterday?" He asked me looking up from his notebook
"There?"
"T-There is a cat!" He exclaimed randomly before staring back at the notebook
"We need to hurry, otherwise we will be late for practice," I commented while I glanced down at my phone to check the time
"Do I want to make Daichi or Sugawara mad?" Kageyama mumbled to himself before a thought crossed his mind
"Neither." He mumble again while he held my hand again while he walked towards the gyms with his nose in his notebook
We got closer to the gym before footsteps running towards us made us stop.
"I like your hairstyle, Kageyama!" I hear Hinata comment while he ran by causing me to laugh at Kageyama's shocked face
"I'm still a unicorn," Kageyama asked seriously while I tried to hold my laughter
"You're still a unicorn," I confirmed and Kageyama was quick to try and pull it out
"Aww come on, it was cute." I whined while he brushed out his hair
"It would distract me during practice."
"Speaking of which, we are both about to be late." I said glancing down at my phone once again
"I'll see you after practice." I say hurriedly before running the club room to change before heading to the gym.

"I feel like the third wheel." Hinata commented while Kageyama and him joined me at my desk
"What about Akina?" I asked
"She is not sitting with us right now, and even then I will be a 5th wheel." Hinata whined
"What does that mean?" I asked Hinata who stood up
"You haven't noticed? Anyways I'm going to sit with my other friends." Hinata said before waving and walking towards another desk
"What does he mean by the 5th wheel?" I asked and Kageyama shrugged
"Maybe Akina is dating someone?"
"There is no way." I commented while I began to dig through my bag for my money
"It's my turn to buy." Kageyama said causing me to stop digging through my bag
"Yea but-"
"You bought yesterday." He said while he stood up
"But-"
"Come on, I'm thirsty." He said while he pulled me out of the classroom
"Slow down, you drag me everywhere." I complain
"Because you are slow." He answered while i caught up, walking beside him
"Maybe you're just impatient."
"Nope, you're just slow."
"I'm not slow!" I argued
"Yes you are."
"What makes you right?" I asked
"Because I'm your stalker."
"I don't think that is a good thing." I said while we arrived at the vending machines
"Sometimes bad things are good things." He commented
"What about a bad grade, how can that be good?"
"Some things are bad for a reason, that's why I said sometimes" He said while he put money into the vending machine before handing me a milk
"Anyways, do you think that maybe after practice you could spare some time to help me practice?" I asked while he grabbed his milk
"I would, but I have to study tonight for our finals." He said while he poked his straw into his milk
"That's right stupid finals." I said remembering the long tests we would have to take in a couple of days
"Maybe you should study for it." He suggested and I quickly shook my head
"It's too boring." I whined while the bell rang
"But it keeps you playing volleyball."
"I know, I know."

After school I headed towards the volleyball gym to join the small group of girls that showed up to practice instead of studying
'Of course Akina is off studying.' I thought to myself while I put on my volleyball shoes before warming up with the rest of the girls.
"Is L/n in here?" A voice asked from the entrance of the gym and I quickly recognized him as the boy's volleyball coach.
"I am." I answered while I walked over towards him
"My name is Takeda, and I need to talk to you for a second." He said and I glanced back at Yui who nodded for me to go before taking off my gym shoes and following him
"Can I ask what this is about?" I asked while we walked towards the boy's volleyball gym
"I'll explain once we get there." He said while he opened the door, causing the boys in the gym to glance over at me
I got a mix of 'who are you' and 'what are you doing here' expressions while I followed him.
"When did I tell you to stop?" A blonde haired man said before the volleyball players resumed what they were doing and I continued to follow him

"L/n when you are finished can you lock up?" Yui asks me while I pull the cart full of volleyball along with me
"Yea, I got it."
"Make sure you don't stay here too long."
"I won't, I'm only working on my serve for a bit," I say while I stop at the end of the court
"I'll see you tomorrow then," Yui said with a wave
"See you," I say with a wave before picking up a ball
I let the ball roll on my fingertips
'I was wanting to work on my spiking, but I don't have a setter.' I thought to myself while letting the ball roll off my fingers before jumping to meet the ball.
I hit the ball before landing on my feet, and I feel my gut turn while the ball bouncing ecoted the room
"It's so quiet," I mumbled to myself, remembering that everyone was studying for their finals
I pick up the next ball, while I remember the conversation between me and Mr.Takeda earlier.

I walked with Mr.Takeda until he stopped.
"L/n, as you know the boy's volleyball is going to be traveling to Tokyo here soon." He started while I mentally went down a list to see if I could be in trouble for anything
"Yea, I have heard Kageyama talking about it."
"Your mom called the other day, and she would like you to travel with us." He said and I stared at him with a confused expression
"Why does she want me to come with you on your training camp?" I asked still confused by his words
"She said she was going to come and visit." He explained and added "But you won't be joining us until our 2nd trip around."
"Why the 2nd trip?" I asked while my brain tried to process what he was saying
"She said she had important things to do when we take our first trip." He said and I nodded

'I wonder why she suddenly wants to see me.' I thought to myself while I continued to practice
'It's been a whole month and she hasn't even called.' I thought while I hit the last ball over the net.
"I guess it's time I head back." I say to nobody while I began picking on the balls that laid on the ground, every now and then acting like I was a basketball player trying to shoot the ball into the bin.
I finish cleaning up before taking off my volleyball shoes and putting them into my bag. I decide to change when I get back to the apartment before locking up the gym.
When I stepped outside I felt the cool breeze hit my skin, causing me to shiver a bit. I stared up at the sky which was now a beautiful blend of orange, pink, and yellow.
I walk back to the apartment before both Kageyama and Miwa, Kageyama was studying with tall french frie and Hinata while Miwa was out doing who know what.
"Shower time~" I sing happily to myself while I walk into the bathroom

I turn off the shower while I squeeze out what water I can from my hair while I hear the front door open.
"Miwa! I need a towel!" I yell from the shower and I hear footsteps move from outside the bathroom door before they returned
The door slightly opened before a towel was thrown at me
"Thank you!" I said while I began to dry myself off and wrap the towel around my body and quickly open the door to rush off to my room before Kageyama got, back but as soon as I opened the door the cool air hit me while a pair of blue eyes met mine
