Enforcing My Will…
Looking through the eyes of the spider I watch as it walks between very small tight holes and gaps in the walls and eventually it comes through a small gap in the corner of a very clean room and I get an eyeful of a proper lab and after a cursory glance I see that the mad professor is not here at the moment so I send the spider on a trek to the door looking for the security to it and fortunately for me it isn't an eye scanner or key card scanner or something and it is actually just a switch on the wall and so it can be easily managed to open since it is like a lever switch from Minecraft that flicks up and down so all I need is an appropriate amount of weight to be put upon the lever for it to go down and open the door for me except when I get the spider to stand on the switch I realise that this is going to be harder to do then I thought because the spider can walk on the switch without it even wobbling s I guess the professor didn't cut corners because I am not going to be able to get this door to open with just one tiny spider and so I look around the room to see if there is anything I can use to help me like maybe a marble next to a glass next to jug next to a box next to a bigger box next to a fridge which I can get the spider to push and through a butterfly effect have the fridge land on the switch and push it down to open the door but I guess that was just dumb to hope for since there is nothing like that here and no such way to open the door.
I need to think about this logically like Sherlock Holmes would and come to the best option so I guess first I should review my situation which is that I am on the outside of the door with no way to open it from here since he security is too tight but I have some access to the other side no matter how minimal which means my only point of egress will be from the inside and through the spider and so I review what is in the room to help me with my goal but there is nothing near enough the door that I can knock over in the hopes of getting lucky and hitting the lever open since all the lab equipment and items are further towards the back of the room with nothing near the entrance and so realising that I come to the conclusion that the only thing I can affect in that room is that little spider itself and nothing else and so that spider is my only way to open the door but it is not heavy enough to push that switch down by itself and yet it is the only thing I can affect, the spider itself is the only thing I can use to open the door but it is not enough so if I look at this logically if one spider is not enough then maybe two is and if two are not then maybe three or four are and so on and so forth so maybe what I am looking for is not quality and tactics but brute force and bull headedness and instead of looking for a tactical advantage and taking the high ground I just need to throw more and more soldiers at the problem till it gets solved even if some of them die in the process and it takes a long time for the objective to be completed but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
I only have one problem though which is the fact that I have only ever controlled a few spiders before not to mention the fact that I can only look through the eyes of one spider and control them fully at the moment and the one time I tried to do more and look through the eyes of another spider and control another fully is when I had the worst splitting headache and actually had a nose bleed and so I never tried to do it again but the fact remains that the only thing I can do to open this door is control spiders to do it for me but I can only fully control one at a time so I see no plausible way to control probably the hundred needed to go up onto that lever and weigh it down enough to open the door, but apart from that I see no other way and the only thing I can think about is going away and coming back another day after I have done some hardcore training on this ability and properly ramped up my usage and skill with it but that will probably take months to get it up to the right level needed which means I will have to spend months without knowing just what is going on in that lab and leaving that madman lose without knowing what he is up to and I can't live with that and I can't wait all these months to finally enter this room and uncover all his sordid secrets and I would rather risk breaking down the door and allowing him to realise someone is after him and alert him then wait months to open the door in which he can progress his research to unknown heights using his nearly unparalleled intelligence.
Maybe I am looking at this wrong once again and just because I am using a brute force method doesn't mean I can't be clever about it and use some intelligence to improve and make my plan more effective and efficient because I am thinking about using my power by fully taking over the spider and controlling everything about it fully as if I was playing an MMORPG and controlling every aspect of my character but what I need to be playing is one of those look down from the tope control type games like X-COM or something and directing my spider like that and not giving them very specific and detailed orders as if controlling them fully as if I'm in my body and actually giving them simple directions such as telling them to turn this way and move that way and look at that and go here or jump and leaving all the other controls to them with me just giving them their orders from the top, and so like that I will be able to stretch my control to a lot more spider rather than just controlling a single one and overriding its conscious and moving around as if I was in the body of the spider but like this I have a lot more options.
Controlling the spider inside I pull it back out of the room through the little hole in the corner that it came through in case my plan doesn't work and I end up leaving the spider in there for Doctor Miles Warren to find and once he does he will find that his lab is not completely sterile and so he will begin sealing up any and all holes meaning I would not have the opportunity to try this method again so it is better that I pull the spider out of the room before releasing my total control over it and once I have done that I decide to try something simple first and so I close my eyes and calm myself before focusing and sending out a simple message into the surrounding using my brainwave by just thinking really hard and flick that little switch in the corner of my mind to control spiders and the message I send out is just a simples come here and I focus hard and long on it broadcasting it out to my surrounding like a foghorn and suddenly I can sense hundreds maybe even thousands of spiders beginning to crawl out of the woodwork and the dark deep corners of the basement and scurry towards me and even with the massive amount of spiders running about I can hardly hear the little stealthy things as they run towards me, I open my eyes to bear witness to just what I have done and as I do so I realise just what I have done as hundreds of spiders are scuttling along the floor and walls heading straight for me and even though I know I can control them and stop them I feel immeasurably creeped out as I watch them crash towards me like a tidal wave and after a second I realise they are following my order to the letter because they do not simply stop at my feet and begin to crawl up my legs and that creeps the ever living shit out of me and I begin to panic and flail in fright but they just keep moving and so I have a little outburst and just shout stop at that top of my lungs in panic and right after I do so they follow my commands and stop covering the entirety of my legs nearly going up my torso and once I stop my brain fart and realise that I can still control these things I immediately just will them to get the hell off of me and onto the ground and they do so with surprising ease waiting on the floor but they do take my orders quite literally since they are waiting on the floor not touching me but still surrounding everything over an inch from me but I ignore that in favour of my overwhelming happiness.
I just had some kind of major breakthrough in my ability when I had that little outburst and the only thing I can think to compare it to is when in the Marine ford War Luffy sees what is about to happen on the execution platform and screams letting his conqueror's Haki loose and knocking out a lot of pirates and marines because that is how major the breakthrough is because before it was like I was a little guy out of my depth trying to do all I could to control the uncontrollable situation around me and now I enforced my will upon that uncontrollable situation and manipulated it to my liking so it is like I had a major breakthrough and whereas before I was having trouble controlling more than one spider fully I now feel like I can easily control ten spiders fully with ease, I think this breakthrough is not actually a breakthrough at all and I just figured out how to use my power correctly since I was fundamentally using it wrong this entire time because I likened it to the power of a telepath like Professor X and using my mind to control and manipulate the spiders but spiders do not have enough of a mind to control like that otherwise why don't spiders control insects and animals and that is because they don't have enough of a mind which begs the question of how am I controlling the spiders which can be explained through the simple fact that I am not a telepath and I am a spider totem which largely has to do with spirituality and magic and all that shit so what I am doing is fundamentally different as I am pushing my will and consciousness upon those spiders through my totem powers and using my will to control them which explains why I wasn't having much look with my powers as I was trying to use them like a telepath instead of mystically.
Using my newfound method I push my will out onto the world around me and force my will into the spiders around my effectively taking control of them but not too much control since I am controlling near a thousand of these things and I direct them through the brickwork and holes to the room on the other side and looking through the eyes of a single spider I put it on the ceiling and then look at the lever and command the rest of the spiders to get on top of it and like a pack they swarm towards it and pile up on top of it and I can feel the lever wiggle through my connection to them but it still doesn't go down much and most of the spiders are standing on each other to accomplish this but I know that I spider can handle ten times its own body weight so I don't mind much and give them the command to start jumping at the same time but I am unfortunately not too good at controlling my powers and so my spider on the ceiling jumps as well and ends up falling to the ground but catches itself on a web, it doesn't matter though because the rest of the spiders jumped in synchronicity and once they landed at the same time the lever went down with a slow thud.
The door in front of me hisses and begins to slide open, I am finally going to catch this bastard and find all of his horrifying secrets...
