Chapter 5

Present

Liam knew he couldn't bust through the front door. So, he instead walks to the back of the house, looking for the door.

He quickly found the backdoor. Grabbing his key ring and opening the door. He slowly walked inside, hearing yelling and banging.

He slowly tips toed into the laundry room, finding Jamey curled up in the corner, crying.

"Hey, Jamey. I'm here ok. I want you to go to my car outside, call the police on my phone." Liam says softly, getting Jamey's attention.

Jamey nods running out the backdoor that was opened for him. Liam waited a couple of seconds, listening to their conversation.

"Wow, look! The little whore has confidence, fight me bitch!" Eugene yells holding Justin by the neck, as Justin gasped for air.

Justin tries kicking Eugene but fails miserably, only kicking the air. Justin, face turning purple, looks at the gun harnessed at Eugene's leg.

Eugene looks down at the gun and smiles. He let's go of Justin's neck, taking a few steps back.

He grabs the gun, pointing it at Justin's head. "So, about this divorce," He starts cocking the gun.

Justin's breath hitches, raising his hands in the air, looking at the ground. "Please, put the gun down Eugene. Why can't we just han-" Justin starts before he hears a thump on the ground.

He looks up and see's Liam holding a baseball bat, Eugene on the floor. Justin's eyes meet Liam's crystal blue ones, smiling.

Tears slowly rolling down his eyes, Justin runs up to him, giving Liam a big hug.

"Put your hands up!" Someone says from behind Justin. He turns around to see three police officers holding their guns at Liam and Justin, who immediately stop hugging.

Justin and Liam quickly place their hands in the air in surrender, looking from the police to each other.

The police start handcuffing Liam, as another checks Eugene's pulse. "We have a pulse. Get an ambulance." The officer says into a walkie-talkie.

"Where's my son?" Justin asks as an officer as he watches Liam get taken out of the house.

"He's innocent, he was protecting me a-" He starts as an officer puts her hand up. "Zip it. You can get a lawyer for that." She says as the four people in the room heard grumbling.

They all turn to Eugene as he starts to awaken. "What the hell did you do?" He asks looking around.

The room was quiet, waiting for what Eugene had to say. Eugene looks at Justin and stares, before slightly smiling at the boy.

"Ow, t-they tried to kill me! They tried but I ran out before they could get to me, someone gets them away from me!" He cried. Justin looked at Eugene shocked.

The girl officer looked between Justin and Eugene, before walking up to Justin and arresting him. Justin knew it was better if he didn't fight.

Justin's head wavered down as he got escorted out of the house, though a voice made his head shoot up.

"Why is Papa being arrested? He's the good guy." Jamey asks as he looks at his father. Justin smiled at the boy, assuring he would be fine.

Jamey nodded as an officer led Justin into a police car. Though Jamey knew he wouldn't be.

Questioning

Justin sat in his chair, just wanting to be home. No, he didn't want to be home, he wanted to be with Liam and Jamey. Maybe at the park, he doesn't care.

Two people walked in, one blind, and another holding a briefcase. Just great, two more people who won't believe him.

The blind man sits down first, the other places a suitcase on the table, before sitting down himself.

"Mr. Tomp-" "Mr. Parker." Justin corrects. The blond man looks up at him confused. "Excuse me?"

"Parker's my maiden name," Justin says, biting one of his nails. The blond nodded, opening up his suitcase.

"Mr. Parker, my name Eric Nelson, and this man are Matt Elchizer." The blond Eric says, before pointing to the blind man, Matt.

"We want to know the story, from when this started," Matt says, leaning onto the table. Though Justin rolls his eyes.

"Yeah right, where's Jamey?" Justin questions, also leaning near the table. Eric calmly sighs. "At the hospital with his other father."

Justin's eyes widen, him standing up. "No! No, no, no, no! You need to get him out there. I never trusted Eugene with Jamey." Justin yells, eyes tearing up.

Eric looks at Matthew confused, though Matt waved it off. "Tell us why?"  Why don't you trust Eugene with Jamey." Matt asks, encouragingly.

Justin sighs, sitting down on his seat. He places his elbows on the table, leaning his head on his hands.

"It's a long story, and I don't think you'll believe me," Justin says quietly. Eric leans closer, suddenly interested.

"We got time."

 Later That Night

"Damn you've been through some shit," Eric says, looking over the notes. "So he used to bully, but then secretly liked. You two went out, Two years later got married. Two years after that, the abuse started. Then three years later, you met Mr. Wilson started hanging out."

Justin shrugged at the notes, wondering if he believed the story. "Ok, and earlier, Eugene was going to rape you, though Jamey distracted him. Went downstairs, he started hitting you, though it turned into an argument. You said you wanted a divorce, didn't get better from there."

Eric looks up at me, before turning the page on his notes.

"Ok and sometime during the argument, Eugene pushed Jamey into some glass, with gave him the cut on his cheek. You got mad at Eugene, and during this time Jamey called Liam. And then Eugene saw the phone, and got mad at you."

Eric says, as Matt just listened. "Jeez, Mr. Parker, luckily, since we have your story, we can match it up to Mr. Wilsons, and Jamey's," Matt says leaning back in his chair.

"If they all match, that means it's three words against one, and one of the stories is a witness so that makes it even better," Matt says, sighing.

"We can technically call it self defense based on your stories," Eric says as Justin nodded.

"I just have a question for you Mr. Parker. Do you love, Mr. Wilson?" Matt asked, leaning onto the table. Justin froze in place, not knowing the answer.

"I-I don't, No?" Justin says, but it was more of a question. Eric nodded, patting Matt on the shoulder. "Time for us to go."

Matt nodded, still looking at Justin as he stands to his feet, walking out next to Eric, though before both men could leave, Justin stopped them.

"Can I talk to Liam, please?" Justin begged as Eric nodded his head. "Come with me." He says simply as Justin stood to his feet.

He walked Eric into the main part of the police station. He points to a room, opening the door for him. "You have a  visitor," Eric says as Liam looks up.

Justin walks in with a Liam smile. Eric closes the door, giving them some privacy.

"Hey, so I told them," Justin says, sitting across from Liam. Liam nods at him, a small smile on his face.

"That's good, you should have. I told them the truth, and they supposedly talked at Jamey and Eugene as well." Liam says simply.

Justin grabs Liam's hands holding them in his. Liam looks from his hands to Justin's eyes.

"We'll get through this, ok. All of us, trust me. No matter what lies Eugene says, we will debunk all of them." Justin says smiling at the man.

Though outside the room Eric and Matt sit next to this tv that's connected to the camera, filming Liam and Justin's every movement.

"They seem to be in love," Eric says out of the blue. Matt shrugs, listening to their conversation.

"Mr. Parker is definitely in love," Matt says, tapping his foot to the beat of the music being played on the speaker.

Eric looks at Matt confused. "How do you know?" Matt just shrugs again. "Instinct. What Justin, Jamey, and Liam said were all true. Eugene was lying." Matt says, grabbing a magazine.

"First of all you don't know for sure, secondly you can't read that. Also, we can use Mr. Millers' story plot holes against him. Like how did Jamey get the scratch." Eric says.

Matt looks at Eric smiling. "Or, text messages. If there was anything like an affair, there should be sexual text messages right?" Matt says, spitting out ideas as Eric wrote them down.

"You're right! And what about Jamey. Why would he lie and say that Eugene did something wrong when he knew he didn't." Eric says, jotting down the idea.

"Oh! Also the injuries. If Mr. Wilson was trying to kill Eugene. If he was, one blow to the back wouldn't do it." Matt says, leaning no longer listening to the conversation.

"Speaking of injuries. In Eugene's story, Mr. Parker tried to kill him first, before Mr. Wilson got involved. According to the story, Mr. Miller was trying to get away." Matt says thinking.

"Wait, so then how did those bruises on Mr. Parker get there? He must have been choking him, and that doesn't seem like getting away to me."

"Eric," Matt says, turning to his best friend in crime smiling. "I think this case will be an easy victory."

Back in the room, Liam was trying to reassure Justin that Jamey was fine in the hospital.

"Jamey doesn't act like himself around Jamey, he's way less….. Himself." Justin says vaguely. "And besides, Eugene could try and, I don't know," Justin says, laying his head on the table.

"Everything will be fine. Jamey is strong, Eugene can't change his mind on anything, he's going, to tell the truth." Liam says, playing with Justin's hair.

"Yeah, your right. He'll be fine, but what about Eugene." Justin says out of nowhere. Liam stops playing with his hair, sitting his hands on the table.

"What do you mean, what about Eugene?  He's probably  going to go to jail, for a lot of things." Liam says as Justin lifts his head to look into Liam's eyes.

"He, I don't know. He changed me, brainwashed maybe. He did something to me, that makes me think what he did...… what he does is ok."

Liam leans back, listen to Justin as he notices the tears in his eyes, his freckles dimmed by cuts and bruises. His neck and chest were riddled with them.

"And I'm scared that I will look at myself in the mirror 10 years from now and still see bruises, and black eyes." Justin sniffles as he rubs his nose.

A single tear falls from his eyes, and Liam leans over the table, wiping the tear away with his thumb.

"I don't care, you are beautiful. Bad memories will always have bruises or cuts, but it's your choice if you allow them to heal." Liam rests his hand on Justin's red cheek, slightly smiling at the boy.

"We'll get through this, together." Justin nodded, his frown slowly turning into a smile.
