A Walk

Justin and Liam both walked out of the police station, both had just witnessed a traumatic experience, both had lawyers,

But most importantly, both were being charged with attempted murder.

"Ok, we are free men, what should we do first? Maybe drink ourselves to death?" Liam joked though Justin knew he would have done if he said yes.

"First, we technically aren't free men. We still need a trial, they just don't keep in a cell. Second, we need to go to the hospital to find Jamey." Justin says laughing.

Liam nodded, turning the corner in the cold October night. Tonight was Windy, and one had PJ's on, the other simple cargo shorts and a hoodie.

Justin shivered as the cold breeze flew by them. Liam must have noticed since, he took off his hoodie, showing his tee-shirt underneath, giving it to Justin.

Justin looked from the hoodie to Liam, shocked by his confidence. "But, your skin?" Justin asked, wondering why he's showing his skin in public, even though it's dark.

Liam shrugged it off, simply saying; "I'm not scared of what people think when I'm around you." Justin blushed, looking down as he put on the hoodie.

 At The Hospital

Liam walked up to the woman at the desk, smiling at her. "Hi, uh were here to see Eugene Thomspon, what room is he in?" Liam said politely.

The woman looked down at the computer, typing something into the computer before looking back at Liam. "Level 7, he's in ICU. She says smiling at him.

Liam looked at her shocked, before nodding and heading back over to Justin. "So?" He asks impatiently.

"Why is he in Intensive Care?" Liam asked, confused. Justin looked up at him and shrugged.

They both walked to the elevator, pressing level 7 and walking in. "Oh my god, what if he's paralyzed?" Justin says, his eyes are as large as plates.

Liam rolled his eyes shaking his head. "Justin, I kill people for money remember. I should know something about anatomy, like what could kill someone."

Justin scoffed and walked out of the elevator, nodding to a nurse next to him. Justin looked at the door names, trying to find Eugene's.

When he did, he grabbed the handle, but before he could open it, Liam turned him around. "Let me know if anything is going to happen," Liam says and Justin nods.

Justin opens the door slowly, the clicking of the door loud enough to get its patient's attention.

Justin looked around at the big room, that had two beds, a tv, and a food stand. With a bathroom next to the door. Justin slowly walked down the small area, looking at the big room.

There was a huge window, covering most of the opposite wall. Eugene wasn't facing him, while Jamey was. Eugene was slumped, his legs hanging over the bed, looking up to Jamey.

Jamey looked up and gasped when he saw his favorite Father. Eugene turned around and smiled when he saw Justin.

Justin, however, took a step back, walking towards the door. Eugene gets up, looking at Justin.

"Hey, Babe," Eugene said, exactly he used to.  Justin stood there, looking at Eugene. "Don't Hey, Babe me. I came here to see Jamey." Justin says simply.

Eugene nodded, stepping aside for Justin. Justin, hesitantly, starts walking over to Jamey.

He sits down next to him, looking at Jamey's cheek. Eugene sit's down on the opposite bed. "We're in Intensive Care because he ripped his Buccinator muscle."

Eugene looks between Justin and Jamey. "Hey bud, does it hurt?" Justin asks looking at Jamey.

The kid shrugs looking at Eugene. "Dad, you want to play rock, paper, scissors?" Jamey asks Eugene. Justin waits for his answer, looking at Eugene.

"Yeah kid, but just warning you, I'm a little rusty," Eugene says as they play a round of the kid game. Justin watches them, wondering if that Eugene was in there all along, or if he's just playing them.

"Hey, Eugene did the stitch the cut?" Justin asks, looking at Eugene. He looks up at the boy, nodding his head.

"Yep, they're going to check us out soon." He smiled at Justin, and Justin almost smiled back. Almost.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom," Jamey says, standing up and walking to the bathroom.

Though before he made it there, he turned around at Justin and winked, indicating that he still believed what he saw, and didn't believe Eugene.

Justin sighs, leaning his head on his hands. "I'm sorry," Eugene says out of nowhere. Justin looks at him shocked. "E-Excuse me?!"

"You heard me right. How I treated Jamey and especially you, was messed up. And, I'm sorry that you had to deal with me. I'm sorry that I acted like that, and I wish I could have taken it back,"

Justin took in every word Eugene was saying, this is the first time in years Eugene said those words.

"I'm sorry for the way I acted, and I will understand if you want a divorce," Eugene said, as Justin smiled at the man, though just barely.

"But, Justin. We can be a family again, without all the bad stuff. We can be like we used to." Eugene says smiling.

Justin full-on smiled at the man, sadness in his eyes. "I love you Eugene, I always have. And I always will. But, I know you're trying to play me, Eugene."

He kisses Eugene on the forehead, before walking towards the door. "And besides, every time I look at you, I see the dirty, disgusting man that you are."

Justin opens the door, seeing Liam on his phone. He looks up and smiles. "You ready?" He asks, walking up to Justin.

Justin nods and they start walking together in the hall. "So, what happened? Jamey's not coming?" Liam asked, looking at Justin.

"Nope, but Eugene will be good to him. He's trying to win Jamey over, but Jamey's not going to fall. Though he tried to win me over, and it almost worked." Justin admitted.

Liam looked at Justin, shocked, what did he do? Tell me all the deets." Liam asks, acting like a girl with gossip.

Justin rolled his eyes at the man, clicked the Level 0 button on the elevator.

Food

Justin and Liam made their way two Justin's house, where Liam's car was. They walked up to the door and Justin put the key in, though he stopped dead in his tracks.

"I can't do this," Justin says, still staring at the door handle. Liam looked at Justin confused, and Justin turned around to meet his eyes.

"I don't want to go in there," Justin says, his face so full of emotion without using a word. Liam sighed leaning against the banister.

"Well, what are we supposed to do?" Liam asked crossing his arms. "I could just sleep in my car." Justin offered, though Liam waved off the idea.

"You have to go to sleep, and I'm not letting you sleep in a car," Liam said definitively. Justin nodded understandingly.

"Come on, we're going to my place," Liam said, walking down the steps of the wooden porch. Justin looked at him, shaking his hand.

"No, I don't want to intrude, I'll go insi-" Justin starts, turning the nob, though Liam quickly shakes his head.

"Hell no, I'm not about to let you do something that you aren't comfortable with. You're not intruding, it'll be like a girls sleepover." Liam said, his voice turning back into a  basic, preppy, girl.

Justin rolled his eyes, laughing at his friend, just his friend.

He walked down the steps and towards Liam. "Ok, fine. But whose car are we taking?" Justin asked, looking between Justin's; who has a black Tesla.

Or Liam's, white Toyota. Liam looked between the two cars, before looking at Justin. "Are we about to go to the bar or no?"

Justin rolled his eyes at the question, obviously saying no. Liam wined, before walking up to his car.

"Come on, you've never seen me drive before," Liam said, though he was winning, Justin still walked over to him. "You are insane," Justin says, sitting in the passenger's seat.

"And, I'm your favorite insane person," Liam says, starting the car. Justin rolled his eyes at the comment, sitting back in the seat.

"Yeah Liam, and thank you," Justin says, looking at Liam. "For, doing this. You don't have to get into any of my boy problems." Justin sighs.

"No one, and I mean no one, has ever treated me this nice," Justin says, smiling at Liam. Liam smiles back, driving out of his spot.

"Ok, just warning you, my place is haunted, so since it's 3:12 you might not come out alive," Liam warned, Justin just laughing at the comment.

Liam drove onto the main road, Justin following the path. Noticing similarities. "Wait, you live in Queens?" Justin asked, turning his head from the window.

Liam nodded, stopping at a red light. "Yep, which is weird because America was never run by a king," Liam says, taking a left into a neighborhood.

"True, though it could have just been named that," Justin says as Liam drove out of the neighborhood.

"Wait,  where are we going?" Justin asks, sitting up in the seat to look around at the familiar area. "I decided to take a detour to Chick-Fila," Liam says simply.

Justin sat back in his seat, comfortable at the location change. "Ok, but I'm not that hungry," Justin says as Liam glanced at him skeptically.

"Yeah, ok. When was the last time you ate?" Liam asks, turning into a Chick-Fila drive-through."Um, yesterday. But does coffee count-"

"Nope, it doesn't. Hi, can I get a chicken sandwich and some two large fries?" Liam said, scanning through the menu. "Spicy, or, Regular?" The lady asked through the microphone.

Liam turned to Justin asking the same question. "Wait, the sandwich is for me? You don't ha-" Justin starts, though Liam cuts him off again.

"Regular, please," Liam said sitting back in his seat. Justin looked at Liam, half annoyed and half shocked.

"Why did you do that?" Justin asked as the lady told them the price. Liam drove to the first window, shrugging.

"I care about you J, meaning I would rather have my friend not die," Liam said, taking out his wallet, but Justin placed his hand over the wallet.

"Let me pay," Justin says looking at Liam, though he just chuckled. "What, what is it?" Justin asked curiously.

"I'm just pointing this out, where's your wallet?" Justin patted his back and front pockets before sighing. "In my car." He mumbled.

"Exactly, why did you think I chose my car," Liam says, handing the lady his card. "And besides J, you have a child, and a fucked up husband that you have to deal with."

Liam pulls up to the next window. He turns to look at Justin with a smirk on his face.

"Why are you looking at me like that, I'm going to cash app you, just warning," Justin says smiling. Liam rolled his eyes, leaning back in his chair.

"By the way, what happened to your phone?" Liam asked, still smirking, though he wasn't looking at Justin.

Justin sighs, glaring at his friend. "I hate you," Justin mumbled as Liam chuckled.

"You didn't answer my question," Liam says, through chuckles. Justin rolled his eyes, Liam closing his eyes in relief.

"At my house, broken." Justin groans, going farther into the seat. "Here you go, sir." The lady says, handing Liam his food. "Thank you," Liam says, placing the food on Justin's lap.

"My pleasure." The lady says, and Liam drives off. Justin looks into the bag, grabbing one of the boxes of fries.

"I knew you were hungry," Liam said, keeping his eyes on the road, though he was still laughing.

Justin waved him off, grabbing a fry. "Why did you get two large fries?" Justin asked, looking into the bag, before backing at Liam.

"I'm hungry, I haven't eaten in a couple of hours. Oh, and I suggest you wait to eat when we get there." Liam recommended.

Justin nodded, stuffing his face with one more fry before setting the food back into the bag
