Chapter 18

Please, Liam. Don't kill anyone." Justin whispered to himself as he paced the outside of the courtroom.

Jamey was sitting on one of the concrete steps, playing with his Mcdonald's toy. "Hey Papa, when is Liam going to be back?" Jamey asks, looking up at his worried father.

"Let's hope soon, Jamey. We do have to go and finish this case after all." Justin says, mumbling the last part to himself.

His phone dinged, playing the notification sound Liam picked out for him yesterday. He looked down, noticing it was a text.

Meet me at the back of the Court.  Justin sighs, looking down at Jamey. "Stay here ok, Papa will be right back," Justin says, before walking to the back of the courtroom.

Justin walks to the back of the building, trying to find the mysterious person that texted him. He notices a shadowy figure, and slowly walks over to them.

"Hey, Babe." The person says, and Justin groans. "Eugene." He says simply, crossing his arms over his body.

"Can we talk?" He says leaning out of the shadows so Justin can see his face. "Depends, what do you want to talk about?" Justin asks, taking a step away from Eugene.

"I need you to drop the charges," Eugene says, his voice demanding, yet still kind. Justin scoffs, however, raising a hand to stop him from saying anything else.

"No. Why should I? You know we are telling the truth. Is Eugene scared?" Justin counters, putting his hands on his hips.

Eugene rolls his eyes, taking a step away from Justin. "I don't want to do this," Eugene says, pulling something out of his blue suit.

"But you've left me no choice," Eugene says, taking out a silver handgun, pointing it at Justin.

You could tell he has never held a gun before and was just as nervous as Justin was. "Eugene stop," Justin whispered, backing up and looking anywhere but the gun.

"P-please," Justin whispered, his hands trying to block him from the gun. A single tear fell from his eyes, though he wouldn't let Eugene see his weakness.

Just as Eugene was about to shoot, someone, hidden in the shadows, pushed the gun away from Justin, and towards himself.

Justin flinched at the loud noise, but quickly opened his eyes when he didn't feel anything. He looked around trying to find what happened.

He looked at Eugene, pure horror on his face. He was looking down at, something. Justin looked a down at well and quickly fell onto his knees.

There laid Jamey, and bullet straight through his chest. Peer slowly cradled his son. His dead son. "It's going to be alright," Justin repeats to himself, but he knew it wasn't.

He held his son's head close to his heart, as police officers handcuffed Eugene. His head leaned on the shadowy, brick wall, tears following down as he cradled his only son.

Hye could hear voices in the distance, though they were soft. All he could hear was his son talking to him.

Papa, it's ok. I'm fine now. I'm a superhero! I have to go now.

No! Please, don't leave! I'm sorry! This is all my fault!

No, It's not. It never was. You still have me in your heart.

Please, Jamey, don't leave.

I love you.

Someone tried to pull Jamey away from Justin, but he wouldn't let them, he couldn't let them. He opened his eyes, and it was Liam, looking back at him with teary eyes.

Justin slowly loosened his grip on the corpse, holding his hands over his mouth as Liam slowly walked over to the ambulance.

Once the doctors put Jamey in the ambulance, Liam walked over to Justin again, this time sitting next to him. "I'm sorry..." Liam starts, tears starting to fall from his eyes too.

"I-I'm so so sorry." He says, swallowing down the tears. Before he could say anything else, however, he was engulfed in a warm hug, Justin crying into his shoulder.

"Someone placed a hand on Justin's shoulder, and he looked up, wiping the tears off his cheeks. Eric looked down at the saddened males, softly smiling at them.

"It's ok. It's going to be, ok." Eric says softly, nodding at huddled men. Justin sniffles, standing up to look at Eric in the eyes. "I- I lost my son." He says numbly, still in shock.

He places his hand on Justin's shoulder again, this time pulling him in for a hug. Liam standing and hugging the two as well.
