"Then, for now, we will serve under your leader, " said a soldier as he stood up straight.

Most of the other soldiers agreed with him and stood at attention, awaiting a response from their new temporary leader.

Kagami smiled, "Good, now get into pairs and secure the area. Make sure there are no undead and no gaps in the fences."

Instantly the men paired up and set off to secure their new temporary base. Even the older soldiers who were more stubborn and unwilling knew that if they didn't listen, they'd be kicked out. And so they went straight to work.

Within just five minutes the new base had been completely secured. It turned out there were no undead or living in the parking lot. Most likely due to its massive gates which kept them out.

The following order was to take shifts at patrolling the base. Anyone who wasn't on patrol duty was to either reload guns or attend to vehicle repairs.

Soon the sound of a muscle car could be heard closing in on their position. The soldiers knew who it would be and therefore opened the gates in advance for their new boss to enter the compound.

Once Zed passed through the gate they were close behind him. He parked the car in a corner of the car park and got out. When he did he was greeted by Kagami who had by now gotten down from his tank.

"Yo Zed. How many do you think you killed? My guess is at least 7 thousand, " said Kagami as he closed in on Zed.

Zed wiped the sweat off of his forehead. "Year probably a lot more, But im not sure how many to be exact. Why do you want to know?" Zed questioned.

Kagami leaned into Zed so that nobody could hear him and whispered into his ear, "I felt stronger immediately after killing zombies at the military base. But now, after killing so many undead, I feel even stronger than before. I believe the strength I received came to me after killing the zombies."

"I feel the same Kagami. I think it might be something like evolution. Our bodies are adapting to this sudden occurrence and strengthening after facing such terrifying enemies." Zed said as if he too was experiencing this change.

He could only speak in this way because he had experienced it in his previous life. Currently, he was experiencing a completely different type of growth. One which was multiple times better.

Kagami nodded his head as he sat on the front of Zeds car, "ahh, what a day it has been. You've already managed to gain an entire squad of soldiers to your group."

"Haha, really? Well if that's the case then they probably joined because of your unparalleled persuasiveness." Zed said while laughing.

The pair argued back and forth for a little bit until Zed had to accept the fact that he was the reason they had joined him.

"Sigh, I guess you win. As always..." said Zed with a sigh, ending the argument in a single sentence.

The two continued talking for a while. This chatter wasn't for the simple use of passing time but instead to discuss further actions.

Zed was aware of the fact that the soldiers would be worried about their families. This was something which he would need to act on very quickly if he wished to continue leading them.

"Mission unlocked. New mission is to save the families of as many soldiers as possible. Mission rewards will depend on how many people you save. 200 exp will be given for each individual saved." said the voice of the system.

Zed pondered for a second. This would mean if each soldier had an average of 2 family members surviving and there were 15 soldiers, then that would total to around 6,000 exp. It seemed very small in comparison to what he had received the last time he had finished a mission and so he asked the system why the reward was so low.

Quickly the system replied and answered his question, "Due to your rapid growth you have reached level 34 and therefore have ascended from a stage one zombie. You will now receive less exp from killing others and completing missions. Every 34 levels is an evolution. For example, when you reach level 68 you will become a stage three zombie. This, in turn, will lower your exp once again. Luckily the third stage of evolution will be the final stage where exp gains are lowered."

Zed now understood the reason for why his exp gains had been so low for this mission. It also explained why he had only gained a total of 6 levels after killing around 7,000 undead. He already knew that with every evolution a zombie going through meant that it would gain a class or class ability.

As Zed searched his status for a new class he found it. It read 'Stalker' in red writing. It looked rather ominous and in turn, Zed smiled. The stalker class was a class of zombie which would utilize the dark and stealth to take out enemies with extremely powerful and fast attacks. A stalker zombie wasn't only a zombie which could attack from stealth, in fact, it was actually known to come out of hiding and hunt humans in broad daylight. Its speed was unmatched by every other type of zombies, and its power was in the highest ranking. It was much like his previous life's class of Assasin, however for zombies and thus far more powerful.

After seeing this Zed was happy with the class that had been chosen for him. It was something which he could use as a basis for his stats and would even grant special powers and abilities.

Zed activated the class and immediately he felt about twice as fast and strong. This is what it meant to be a stalker zombie. Considering he was already the most powerful being on this planet this boost was unnecessarily extreme. The class didn't seem to drain his magic or stamina, however, he felt it was best to turn off for the time being after seeing Kagami notice the power increase.

"Hey! are you alright?" Kagami asked with a worried look on his face.

"Uh yeah. Gather 5 men and tell them to be ready to move out in exactly 5 minutes from now. Have them driving three armoured suv," replied Zed as he stood up straight. This action let everyone see his strength as a warrior.

Off in the distance, on top of a tall building stood an old Japanese man. He could be seen wearing a traditional Japanese samurai's kimono with a katana sitting at his waist. "Ho, to see such a young man holding such a powerful stance. The Diamond Cutting Water Dance I believe. A swordsman stance lost many many years ago... He might just be the one who can save her..."
