Suspicious High Schoolers

In a sewer tunnel located under a city, a small group of high schoolers were walking without a care in the world. Surely they were safe now that they had escaped the streets, right?

Well although the high schoolers looked like they didn't have a care in the world. In reality, it was the complete opposite.

At the front of the group was two guys, both of which were loud and obnoxious. Behind them were three girls who all seemed to still be slightly on alert. The two in the front were joking around with each other when they were interrupted.

"Oi Zack, shut the fuck up for a second. There's a corpse over there, " said a young Chinese boy, no older than 16.

The group of five teens stopped in their tracks as they observed the body from a distance. Soon they noticed two others. The corpse which they had seen first looked to be around 20, had white hair and a muscular build. Beside it on either side lay two extremely large undead.

Nobody moved or even said a word. Eventually, a young Korean girl ran past the group. She was soon stopped by one of the guys.

"Are you stupid or something? You do realise that thing is an undead right?" said the boy while holding her arm.

"Oh, uh right... Sorry, Zack... It's just that he reminds me of someone I used to know, " the Korean girl explained quickly.

"Actually, he kinda looks like what's his face. Uh, that's right, the seventh great!" said acclaimed the Chinese guy.

The whole group took a second to have a closer look. Their faces exploded with surprise as they saw the face.

"Holy shit! There's no fucking way we just found him, right? From my memory, that's what he looked like.

"Just stay here while Zack and I check this out," said the Chinese boy.

Zack let go of the girl's arm and followed his friend towards what could be their biggest achievement. Imagine if they made friends with the future worlds strongest. Not only would they gain unimaginable power from this, but they'd also be able to save their family.

As the two boys approached the body, it suddenly moved. The boys jumped backwards in response.

"Oi, are you ok?" asked the Chinese boy.

Zed made no action to speak or respond in this situation. He was still completely unconscious.

"Shut up, do you wanna get killed Jin?" asked Zack with a quiet yet ferocious voice.

The two boys once again got closer until they were within the range of about 1 meter. Zack bent down and took a knee beside Zed and placed his hands on the man. The group showed concerned faces to see that there was no result.

"Oi, wake up" Zack whispered into Zeds ear while gently shaking him. All Zack could do was walk him up and hope he wouldn't kill them on sight.

Zed seemed to respond as his eyes flickered and then landed on Jin, the Chinese boy. Immediately a hand flew out at his neck with the speed of a cheetah. The hand grasped his throat with a tight grip but made no further action.

Scared, Jin pulled back. He was so surprised by Zeds actions that he had almost had a heart attack. "Ugh, shit! Please let go!"

Zeds eyes were now fully awake and he could see that these students wouldn't be a threat. just to make sure he asked the system, 'How strong are these guys?'

The system quickly scanned the high schoolers and responded, "There average level seems to be around LVL 4. Comparing this to an average person this far into the apocalypse, it can be considered strong."

Now that the system had confirmed their weakness, Zed let go of the boy's throat. "Who are you?" he asked.

Jin held his throat which was now too sore to speak. As he tried to it hurt far too much to continue so he decided to just stay quiet.

"I am Zack, this is Jin, the Korean girl is Ara, and the twins are Sofie and Grace," Zack answered as he stuck out a hand to help Zed up.

Zed took the hand and was brought back to his feet. Looking at his surroundings it seemed that the dungeon core had disappeared. Beside him on the ground was his katana right next to two mutilated ghoul corpses.

Zed bent down and picked his katana off of the ground, then wiped the dried blood off on his camo pants. That's when he noticed that not only was the blood on his katana dry but so was the blood of the ghouls. This wasn't all that concerning, however, when he noticed the corpses beginning to decay, he realised something was strange.

"How many days since the beginning of the apocalypse?" Zed asked the group of students.

The twin Sofie answered him in her timid voice, "it's, uh, been ten days I think."

"I see, do you have a place which you are staying?" Asked Zed to change the topic.

The students looked at each other and decided it was safe to tell him.

"There's a place just north of here. If we continue to follow the sewers according to our map, we should be able to make it without much problem." Answered Zack.

"Do you mind if I come?" Zed asked out of curiosity.

The group once again looked at each other and nodded. This group of students didn't seem like they were weak and inexperienced, but instead like a group of survivors which Zed had come into contact with once before in his past life. Although this seemed suspicious Zed would continue this thought later.

"Yes of course you can. It's a group of soldiers camped in a large base, so we should be safe there, " Jin said with a smile.

Zed knew what they were talking about. If he remembered correctly, this sewer should lead them north towards his camp. 'What would his people's progress be by now' he wondered.
