Restless Souls

Hunter activated his passive skill, 'Stealth,' and headed towards the downtown area of Mayberry.

The town had many restaurants and stores in it that would be very useful for Hunter in the future. Hunter couldn't live off of the rations from the gas station.

Every building was mutually destroyed, with vines protruding from almost every access point to the building.

There was about a total of forty stores in the downtown area. Hunter has no idea where he should start searching.

With his 'stealth' skill activated, he had to be careful not to make a sound or his skill would be deactivated. The last thing he wanted was to gain the attention of any living presence.

Hunter kept traveling through the middle of the street seemingly invisible, but did not find any hostiles. Not even a single zombie was lingering around.

'This is very strange. I should be on guard.' Hunter thought as he continued down the middle of the road.

Hunter had a couple places he wanted to scout in order to gain more supplies. The first one was the Local Hospital. Hunter knew he couldn't rely just on Kendall's healing skills forever, and thought it would be important to have beneficial medicine.

The next place Hunter wanted to scout was the Mayberry Police Station. He was curious as to why the police never deployed to help the towns people. Another thing he was curious about was their armory.

Hunter wasn't sure if guns and grenades would work in a world like this, or if he would have any use for them, but still thought there would be one day where he might need them.

Another place Hunter wanted to scout was the Hardware Store. This place could help Hunter make blunt and sharp weapons, and also be needed in making traps.

The last place Hunter wanted to check out was the Town Hall. He needed to know what his town government has turned into. He thought that most people after experiencing all the monsters, would populate to the town hall in search of a leader.

The chances of Hunter, Kendall, and Michaela being the last three survivors in this town was very low.

Hunter was traveling down the middle road until he saw a very familiar truck parked in the middle of the road.

It was the same truck that the punks drove very abruptly through the downtown. Hunter noticed that in the large trunk of the truck, there was blood smeared everywhere. Hunter got closer to the truck but did not see any bodies present in it.

The truck was completely empty, and there was still no life presence around Hunter. This just made Hunter more anxious every second.

Hunter decided to keep traveling on the main road. The hospital was only another block away, so Hunter picked up his pace a little towards the hospital.

After another couple more minutes of traveling Hunter finally reached the hospital. The hospital was a little bigger than most buildings, but still had that same apocalyptic look to it.

Even the H in the hospital sign had fallen off spelling Ospital. Hunter found this a little amusing, and decided to venture inside.

Hunter stepped inside the mysterious hospital and noticed his first monster, but it wasn't quite what he was expecting.

In the hospital lobby he spotted seven monsters that looked like ghost. Hunter wasn't too familiar with this type of monster and wasn't sure how he should deal with them, if he wishes to advance.

Hunter took out his kitchen knife that he used many times before and threw it at one of the ghost. This attack removed his 'stealth' ability and he was noticed by the rest of the ghost.

The knife headed straight towards the ghost head, but unsurprisingly went right through the ghost's head. Hunter had expected this and was why he decided to attack from long range.

'It seemed like most physical attacks will have no effect on the ghost.'

Hunter was indoors now and the only light inside the building came from the windows and doors. The rest of the place was almost complete darkness, so Hunter wouldn't be able to use his skill 'Encase.'

Hunter decided this was now the best time to test out his Necrosis Goblin Dagger. The dagger had a 100% increase in damage to undead, so Hunter figured this was the best time to test it out on the ghost.

Hunter pulled out his dagger from his inventory and rushed towards the ghost closest to him. The shots weren't very fast with their only strength being in their physical resistance.

Hunter used his skill 'Dagger Strike' on the closest ghost and the ghost vanished into thin air.

You have slain a Restless Soul. ExP will be rewarded

Hunter saw the familiar transparent screen again and was overjoyed. He wasn't overjoyed about the experience he had just earned, but by the fact that his Necrosis Goblin Dagger was able to defeat the Restless Soul effortlessly.

The other six Restless Souls continued their path towards Hunter, with a scary expression upon their faces. Hunter let out a sly smirk and went into combat with the Restless Souls.

The Souls were very angry about Hunter invading their territory and wanted to get rid of him as quick as possible, but unfortunately they were no match for Hunter's speed, as Hunter cut down every ghost in mere moments.

You have leveled up. You are now Lv. 11

Hunter soon felt conflicted about the transparent screen that popped in his vision this time. He was glad to have gained a level, but he was saddened by the fact that his sister did not also gain a level.

It seemed like the party feature still had limitations to it. Hunter thought that as long as they were in a party, she could gain half of experience for Hunter's kills.

There was a certain distance that on had to be from the place of the kill to receive the experience.

Hunter tried not to think about it too much and continued into the hospital. Hunter had been to the hospital many times for his work injuries and had a good idea on where he could find the good stuff.

Hunter slain many restless souls on his way through the hospital. He eventually reached the end of the first floor hallway, and headed up the stairs leading to the second floor.

There was only two floors to this hospital, because it was just a small town hospital. The staff here was always understaffed and struggled to help everyone effectively.

As soon as Hunter reached the second floor he saw a shocking transparent screen that made him shiver a little in fear.

You have entered Mwarek the Reaper's territory. You may not leave until he his defeated

'Shit!'
