My Most Important Work

Alexander locked his phone and looked at Evelyn.

Evelyn was standing against the light. As the rays of the sun hit her skin, making her glow like diamonds. Her eyes were so focused on her work that she did not care about anything in the world. A few strands of hair were playing with her cheeks from time to time, tempting Alexander to touch them.

Alexander looked around and found that the site was filled with his team. Some were measuring things, others were discussing with the Architect while a few were surrounding Evelyn, listening carefully to her words.

"Sir.." As Alexander tried making his way towards the site, his assistant interrupted his steps.

"What?" An irritating voice left Alexander's throat as his eyes turned sharp. Alexander was running out to patients, and it was evident in his eyes.

"Sir, the ring…" The assistant hesitated to continue. His eyes refused to look at Alexander in fear of disappointing his boss.
