Who Dis Hottie?

"Ooooh~ I look good. *Muah*", I looked into the mirror and stared at my reflection. Sorry, I brag so much, inherited from my grandmother you see. She was extremely beautiful, a model in her prime-time, proud and confident. My grandfather pursued her because of her feisty personality, she felt she was always better than everyone, and rightfully so, many agencies were after her, many movies made just for her, she was a total diva. She may not be down to earth, but she had a kind heart. As her granddaughter, I look up to her. Unfortunately, she died when I was still in my teens.

Coming back to the present, I wore a white office blouse with a pink office pant and suite, though most women wear a skirt I like to wear pants. My hair was in a simple french braid. To look more confident than I usually am, I wore my favorite hoops, which were made of white gold and a simple gold chain with a small locket in the shape of a crescent moon. Coincidentally, the moon locket suited my fake name- Luna. I took my documents, fake of course. I hailed a cab to reach the venue. Due to the traffic I was half an hour late, most of the candidates were in the waiting room, anxiously waiting to be called in for the interview. I, on the other hand, had to go up the stairs because the elevator was full, not knowing that the following events would change the course of events.

Chris had just finished a meeting with a client with his secretary alongside him. This would be their last meeting together since she was quitting the job to use up her savings and travel around the world, Chris thought that it was a pathetic and a sorry excuse for laziness. His secretary thought that he was just being the hateful person he always is, an antisocial weirdo who was no private life, a hopeless workaholic. He hated change. Now his most trusted person, his secretary, was quitting. He felt he did not have the time to adapt to the situation of having a different person around him, so he hated her for resigning and not being considerate of him. However, he did not know how much that woman wanted to punch him in the face. He came out of the room on the fourth floor while cursing her in his mind. His eyes fell on a vending machine far away, he did not know why but out of some curiosity he started walking towards it. His secretary was shocked by the fact that he considered eating food from a vending machine, knowing how picky he was he always ordered food, after giving a long list of his dislikes and likes, the hotel now has a regular, private client- Chris. She did not care about him anymore since she was quitting anyway, so she ignored him and went to her desk, not bothered by his peculiar behaviour at all. He, on the other hand, wanted to see if he could adapt to change and he decided to test himself by eating 'preserved' food from a vending machine which he loathed since he preferred fresh food.

I was extremely thirsty after climbing four floors, I thanked God for ACs or else I would be a "stinkin' mess". Seeing a vending machine far away gave me hope, I was in desperate need of water. Without thinking much I increased my pace and walked towards the machine without fumbling in my heels, it's a talent if I don't say so myself. However, I was late, someone beat me to it and now I had to wait until he finished picking what he wanted.

The poor guy did not seem to know how to use a vending machine, he stared at the vending machine intensely as if he was trying to intimidate it into giving him what he wants. I lightly coughed since I was running out of patience and I needed water.

He looked at me and frowned but did not say anything. He finally put in some money and pressed the button. Owing to his bad luck, the 'healthy fruit bar' got stuck, this guy did not seem as a patient person since he started hitting the machine to make the fruit bar fall but it did not budge. Luckily the water bottle was above the bar so I thought of a plan. Without another word I pushed the guy out of my way 'gently' and put in money and picked the water bottle, due to the weight, the water bottle pushed the bar down getting us both what we wanted in the first place. I took the bar and handed it over to the guy. He looked at me with a bewildered expression. This was the only moment where I seemed to get a full view of the guy in front of me and let me just say- He is hella fine! He looked so handsome that my smile faltered for a moment. 'Don't hit on him! Don't hit on him!' my mind reminded me constantly, if I was the old Amelia I would have hit on him, but I can't do that now. Looking at his ebony black hair and deep blue eyes, the way his eyebrows furrowed when he frowned, I sighed to myself. How lucky was I to help a total hotty?

"*Ahem* Do you not want it anymore?" I asked because he did not take it from me, though I gave it to him.

He took the bar instantly while he maintained a serious look. "You're here for the interview?"

"Um, ya good observation." I replied, he could guess that I was not an employee or a visitor which meant he observes people, I started analysing him.

"Do you know that you are half an hour late? With your punctuality, you might never get the job." He remarked, it was clear that he did not have a good opinion about me, he seems to look down on me but wait, I helped him so he should thank me not underestimate me. My mouth kind of twitched when I heard him. One thing I hated the most was people underestimating me.

"Excuse you, did I ask for your opinion? You think you're any better? A grown man not knowing how to operate a basic vending machine, who cares if you a graduate from a top college with a degree."

The man frowned even further, it seemed that he was offended that I picked up the matter about the vending machine, so petty.

"You pushed me aside without a word, who do you think you are?" Now it was clear why he looked offended, he was offended because I pushed him, but please, I did it to help him or else god knows how many minutes would have been wasted in retrieving the bar. "I did it to help you if you cannot be grateful or thankful then don't be, but do not be such a petty and annoying person."

"You want me to be grateful? Fine, I will be grateful, I will make sure you won't pass the interview." What Amelia did not know was that he was still annoyed about his previous secretary quitting which now made him think he is 'vulnerable to change', Amelia had just added fuel to the already burning fire.

"Hah! I cannot believe someone can be as shameless as you. I helped you yet you do this, I think I should have let you starve."

"It's highly impossible for me to starve because of not being able to obtain a granola bar."

"Using dirty tricks to make me fail the interview was the lowest anyone could go, as a man, where is your dignity."

"I have dignity, as well as pity, or else I would never talk with someone like you."

I tried hard to refrain herself from punching the guy in front of him, "Say one more word and I'm gonna whack you. Looks like you need it since your parents failed in bringing you up properly, so mannerless." I shook my head and sighed as if I was feeling sad for his parents.

Chris thought he was good but Amelia turned out to be better, he was infuriated by her words, but then he realised that he was arguing with a young girl who had come for an interview. He came back to reality. Though he felt immature for losing his cool, he blamed it on the secretary who decided to quit. Without another word, he turned and left. He did not want to argue with a young girl after all.

Thinking Chris had lost in the verbal fight against me, I made a terrible mistake that I regret from time to time. "Awww, are you going to complain to your mommy?" I know, I know, it was rude of me, but I already told you, my inherent short-temper, I'll regret it soon enough, don't worry. His footsteps froze, he turned around and looked at me like a tiger looking at its prey, by this time I should have known something was wrong, he looked at me from head to toe as if he was evaluating how much I was worth if I was sold or something. He then gave out a crazy laughter which made me shiver. Again, I should have known something was wrong, very wrong. "You are quite brave."

Unfortunately, the dumb person I was did not realise he was actually addressing my stupidity, I genuinely thought he was complimenting me. "*Ahem* I always am", I was not going to give up the opportunity to receive compliments am I? I did not realise that I was holding a large shovel and digging up a very large grave for myself. "Good, very good. It's a really good feature, one should have it but not too much though.", once again, I SHOULD have known something was wrong.

I did not reply as the words that he spoke were weird, but I felt chills on my back because of the way he stared at me; you see that most probably was a survival instinct or my gut feeling telling me something was wrong yet again, you guys must be wondering why I was foolish, I was young; I made mistakes. Give me a break. That guy left without another word. After he left, I reconsidered what I said and as usual I felt bad about it. I shouldn't have spoke about his mother or about his dignity or anything about that man. I sighed and left the matter since there was nothing I could do, but I'm not going to apologise though I feel guilty because he started it. (You guys noticed that I said that I would not apologise, right? *Sigh* I'm such a hypocrite and a scaredy-cat)

I made way to the waiting room, when I entered every candidate was in a bad mood, everyone put away their files, there were many mumbles heard. I found someone who looked least mean and angry and asked her what happened.

"The position is already filled, so they asked us to leave."

"Tch, only four candidates were interviewed, how could they select someone so fast? Something is fishy alright." another person chimed in. Obviously she was dissatisfied with the method of interviewing and hiring candidates.

"This is unfair indeed, I guess Revolution was not as good a company as I thought, even the employees are rude." I said, I did not know if I was really dissatisfied with the process or if I was sad and angry that I did not get a job. 'Waitress it is then', I thought to myself before I turned to leave.

"Hey, girl in the pink coat!", someone called me. Obviously, he did not know my name, I mean who would anyway. I turned to see who it was, I wondered if that guy at the vending machine caused this, such a petty person. A middle-aged man who had been running came to a halting stop in front of me, I was surprised so I immediately took a step back. "What do you want?" I asked, there was a little bit of common sense left in me which made me realise there was something off.

"Mr Collins is seeking you.", his dialogue earned a few gasps among the remaining candidates, which made me wonder what his identity was. "Sorry but who is Mr Collins?"
