Chapter 8- The Prophecy

A few days has passed and it was the day before our journey will begin to New York where I will meet my brother.

Adrian was finally better thanks to the doctors healing ability.

"So, are you going to teleport us there via shadow realm?" Adrian asked.

"No I can't, it takes up a lot of stamina especially with the four of us."

"Let's take the train, it will be much easier and time effective", Gabbie suggested.

We all nodded in agreement to take the train to New York.

Before we left the school, the principal suddenly came rushing towards our group. He looked liked he was in a hurry.

He finally stopped in front of us and was out of breath.

"One second..." He said, as he held his knees and tried to control his breathing. "I've come to give you information that I think might be related to your mission."

This caught my attention. He needed anything if he was to defeat the thing in the giant hole from his dream.

"I can't believe I didn't realize it yet."

"Realize what?" I asked.

"There was a prophecy a long time ago from the originals. The originals were the first six humans who've attained an ability." He said. He started to look up into the sky as if he was trying to remember something. "The prophecy goes like this: two children of the dark, one chaos and one shadow, must go into the abyss unknown. While they enter the sleeping tomb, only one will come out alone. One child shall be our saviour and the other is our doom. The Gods revenge begins, as he is exhumed."

I received goosebumps and the hair on my arms stood. One child shall be our saviour and the other is our doom. This seemed to resonate in my mind.

I looked around at my friends. I noticed that everyone had a similar look- the look of fear.

"Now, it's okay if you guys don't want to come with me, I'll understand." I said.

Adrian punched me in my arms. "Come on man, you should know is better than that, we're your best friends. Of course we'll come."

I smiled at my friends and they all seemed to nod in agreement.

We all went to the front gate and waved goodbye to the principal.

"Good luck my students, our fate depends on you!"

Yay, more pressure! Now, everyone's lives depended on us now. I wasn't liking this one bit. But at the same time, I wanted to go, as if it was my destiny.

I teleported is to the train station since it wasn't too far away like New York, so I managed to do it. Though, it did take a lot of my energy that I could barely stand.

We made sure that no one saw us suddenly appear out of nowhere. We went inside and paid for our tickets to New York from Niagara Falls where our school was.

We went inside the train and sat down. Finally, I was going to meet my brother in about eight to ten hours. I couldn't have been more excited, but at the same time, I was nervous.

I rested my head on Gabbie to sleep. Of course, she pushed my head and I banged my head on the wall.

I took this as a sign that she did not want to be used as a pillow. Instead, I laid my head back on the wall and slept.

My dreams were weird. Images flashed of me and my friends. But the images didn't happen yet. I saw my identical brother and I plummet in the darkness while a hand tried to reach out and fail.

Suddenly, a loud BOOM woke me up. I started seeing shapes unfold from the ground. I noticed that the shapes on the ground were shadows.

They all went to one spot and on that spot, a shape was forming. A man in a black suit appeared and looked me in the eye.

He started to walk towards me and as he did, I tried to walk back. I was stuck on my feet and realized that a shadow was keeping me stuck.

"I can't believe your my successor. Your so young, and yet so powerful." He said. "You'll definitely surpass me in due time. I'm sorry that your fate has already been decided. You will bring doom to us all."

Before I could ask any questions, he walked away.

Then the image of the man died, along with his shadows. I looked at my friends, all sound asleep and wondered who that was.

The man seemed like he didn't mean any harm. I also couldn't hear him as he was talking to himself.

"Stay aware", a voice said behind me. I looked behind me and all I could see was the train wall.

"What a strange day", I thought and went back to a peaceful slumber.

I woke up and yawned. As I yawned, I felt something in my mouth. I opened my eyes and saw my friends laughing.

Of course, someone dared Jon to stick his finger in my mouth because I was snoring. I quickly assumed that it was Gabbie. Other people started looking at us weirdly and I grabbed his finger out of my mouth.

"You guys are so disgusting". I said, "grow up."

Another round of laughter came and I didn't even notice the drawing on my face.

     "What?" I asked.

They all tried so hard not to laugh but I just ignored them.

     "How far away are we?"

"Oh, were about thirty minutes away from New York. We're almost there." Adrian said.

Suddenly, the train stopped and some passengers were launched forward due to the momentum. My friends and I caught ourselves and sensed something evil with a strong killing intent coming towards us.

In front of the train, was a man who stopped the train with one hand. He looked at his hand which didn't even had a scratch on it. He grabbed the front of the train and threw it like it was a piece of garbage into the woods.

I saw the man tore through our train and knew that he was here for us. Even though he looked like he didn't care, I could sense the killing intent from him.

     "Guys, get ready to fight."

I held my daggers and rushed towards the man. He looked at me and suddenly vanished.

As fast as lightning, he appeared at my left side and kicked me in my arm. I was launched outside the train with a broken arm.

He appeared in front of me as I laid on the ground. I tried to teleport away but he grabbed as I sunk into my shadow.

As I looked at his face, I realized that he was the same guy who appeared in the train. But something was different, the person on the train didn't have any intent on hurting me. Why the sudden change?

As he grabbed me in one hand in the air, I felt something pulling on me. Then I flew away and landed on my back.

I saw that Gabbie had her hands out and Adrian ran towards me.

The stranger tried to run to me, but an invisible force stopped him in his tracks. Jon casted a barrier all around him and he is now stuck.

With rage that he was being defeated by a bunch of high schoolers, he punched the barrier. Like glass, the barrier broke into pieces.

His arm was now damaged by the barrier but that did not stop him.

Adrian touched the ground and closed his eyes.

"Adrian what are you doing?" I asked.

In reply, he told me to shut up. I could tell he was concentrating, but why?

Suddenly, the ground shook and a piece of the earth started to form a spike. Then Adrian pointed to the stranger and the spike started rushing towards him.

The man saw his move and grabbed the spike with his arm that wasn't injured. He stood there for a second and looked at Adrian, with a smile on his face.

"Adrian, what was that?" Gabbie asked.

"I'm sorry guys for hiding my powers from you. I learned that my ability was actually matter manipulation during the chaser event."

"It doesn't matter, I'm still going to kill you!" The man pointed to me. He let go of the spike and ran towards me, a black flame in his hand.

I teleported Adrian and I to my friends.

"Hey guys, you want to teleport to the city?"

Without even a response, I quickly teleported us to New York. There, a ton of people started looking at us strangely, especially me, with my ripped and dirty clothes and a little blood on me.

I looked like a homeless kid who got beaten up. Of course, we came here for one reason, to meet my brother.

On top of the Empire State Building, a little boy stood, waiting for someone. The boy looked at the view.

"We will finally be together... little brother, don't worry, I'll try my best to save you from your fate."
