Chapter 11- Super Battle Royale

As we got inside the arena, I felt something run throughout my body. I looked at a mirror and saw that there were black marks with a red highlight on my right arm to my face.

"Uhh guys? You guys see this?" I asked.

"See what?" Gabbie replied.

They all looked confused at what I was looking at. They all looked at my face but they couldn't see anything.

I looked back at the mirror and saw that it was there. I rubbed my eyes to see if I was hallucinating.

"Your either going insane or your tricking us so that you can back out of the "battle royale"."

I left the mark on my face for later. Right now, I needed to teach these guys a lesson on who is the strongest.

I invited a couple of other students and now, there are eight of us. We invited Polly Ryan and Emma Ray, two girls who were probably looking for revenge, and one student I've never met before.

     He just went along with us even though we didn't ask him. We went to the arena to book it for the afternoon. Right now, Mr. Arthur McConnell has booked- it for more deadly dodgeball I assumed.

We went outside and hung out until it was our turn for the arena. We just passed time pranking other students. I blinded a guy that was running in the hallway and shouted, "NO RUNNING IN THE HALLWAYS."

Another victim passed by, and Gabbie saw this as a chance to pants him while he was running. He stumbled and fell from tripping on his own pants.

The other student who was with us also wanted to join in. He decided that it was time to show off his power.

As an innocent kid passed by, he suddenly fell on the floor. I looked at the floor and there was a half eaten but now smushed banana.

I looked at the student who did this and on his hand, was the other half of the banana.

"Any guesses on what my power is?" He asked with a smirk on his face.

I thought about banana manipulation, but that was just dumb. How else could he done that?

"Do you also have super speed?" Polly asked. "I don't even know your name, who are you?"

"First question, no I don't have super speed. And second question, my names Alexander Xavier, nice to meet you." He held out his hand for a handshake. No one took it, probably because no one trusted him yet.

"So, what is your ability?" I asked.

"I just have the ability to travel through time, but of course I can't go back too far, otherwise I'll mess up the whole timeline." He said. "I made that mistake once, and it did not go well. I managed to fix it though, but I lost apart of myself."

I thought about what he said. I wondered why he looked at me, like I was that mistake. He had a dreadful smile on him, like he was pitying me.

I wanted to ask him about that, but it was finally time to head to the arena.

Before we got in, we told the A.I. System that was handling the Arena to change the landscape to forest. There were many options, but this was the best for a battle royale.

After a few seconds, the ground split and trees were rising.

"Everyone, we will be fighting in pairs. I put our names in the system and it will randomly pick our partner." I said. "Another thing, this isn't a fight to the death, so don't accidentally kill anyone."

We all looked at the monitor where we will be given our partners.

These were the results and I was matched with Emma, the timid foreseeing girl.

"Okay, everyone, we will head inside shortly, as soon as we go in, we will split up. Then after ten minutes, a horn will blow and the battle royale begins." I said.

     We all went in and separated. After ten minutes, we could hear a conch blowing from a speaker.

     We knew that it finally began. First, we tried to find a cave to make a little shelter. The arena was now a forest, so we figured that there has to be a cave somewhere.

     Unfortunately, we didn't spot any caves. The ground shook and from a distance, stood a little tower. I assumed that it was Alexander and Adrian since Adrian can now manipulate any matter.

     Then I saw huge brown spikes launching from the tower. A black fire was also launched from the ground and blasted the spike.

     "These fools, are they actually trying to kill each other?" I muttered.

     "Hey, speedy girl is coming." Emma said. She then raised her left arm.

     Coming at us with full speed was Polly. She couldn't stop herself due to her momentum and instantly knocked her head on Emma's arm.

     Then a flying girl came rushing towards us to aid her partner. Gabbie came in a punched me and I was launched toward a nearby tree.

     Before I hit it, I used my shadow to cushion the impact. I felt a stinging pain in my back and I immediately put on my agile shadow armour and my black claws.

I threw my daggers at them to distract them and came rushing forward.

"Watch out!" I heard Emma say. I quickly jumped into a shadow and I was glad I did.

When I got out, I saw a yellow force field that was barely visible. If I ran into that, I would've been seriously injured.

I noticed Jon and Axel sitting on a tree about 10 meters from us. I continued to rush towards Gabbie and Polly and Emma and I were launched in the air.

A black shape started to crawl on my back and wings grew from it. I caught Emma and blinded everyone else.

"I don't want them knowing where we are headed." I said.

"Good thinking, thanks for the save back there." She replied.

We safely landed on the ground and my black wings went back inside my back. I noticed a cut on Emma's arm.

She saw me looking at it and covered it.

"I'm okay, just got a little injured." She said.

"Nonsense, I'll take care of it." I said.

I went inside my shadow, grabbed a med kit from my room and went back.

"Isn't that cheating? I don't think the others would like this." She said.

"Don't worry, they won't know." I quickly cleaned the wound in case it was infected and bandaged it. "This will be our little secret."

I helped her up, since the others are probably already unblinded and begun fighting each other.

"Watch out!" Emma yelled.

Then, a huge spike was casted towards me. I didn't have enough time to teleport away so I clawed it with my claws.

Now, a spike cut in half was behind me. I looked where the spike was shot from and saw Adrian and Alexander.

"This will be a difficult one", I thought, "a person who can time travel back and a person who can see the future will be fighting. This will be interesting."

     I flew up to their tower with my shadow wings and used my claws to try to attack them. I slashed Adrian but he just healed himself instantly with his ability.

     I knew that I couldn't injure him so I had to knock him out. I teleported behind him and hit him in the back of his head with the hilt of my dagger.

     He fell on the ground with a thud and I faced my other opponent.

     "Sorry kid, but I don't like losing." He said.

     He snapped his finger and suddenly, everything started to rewind. He slowly walked up to Adrian, who was now standing. He snapped his fingers again and as he did, he blocked pushed Adrian away.

     I was confused, "how did he just teleport", I thought. "He must've used his power."

     As if on cue, Gabbie came rushing in. I noticed that Polly wasn't with her so I assumed that she either gave up or got knocked out.

     She grabbed me really high up and no one helped since I was also their enemy. I could barely see now since I was surrounded by clouds.

     It was getting harder for me to breath and slowly, everything started to go black. Then, I felt something inhuman in me lashing out. A red hue started to glow in my shadow.

     It moved all around my skin, now there's a huge black and red mark from my right hand to my neck.

     Gabbie saw this and thought that she was harming me. She flew back down to the tower where the others continued their fight.

     "Guys! Look, I don't know what happened to him." Gabbie said.

     They all looked at the strange mark on my body. The red glow started to glow brighter. Then, after a few minutes, it slowly dimmed, but a slight glow remained.

     "I don't know what's happening. This has never happened before." I said.

     We didn't continue the battle royale for this looked like it was a big deal. Everyone wore a worried face as we walked down to the nursery.

     We finally got there and the nurse asked us what was wrong.

     "My body... A strange mark appeared." I said.

     "A strange mark? Come over here boy. The rest of you may leave." She said.

Once they left, she told me that she needed to call the principal. The only word I heard come out of her mouth was "death mark".

A few minutes later, the principal came running down to the nursery.

"Draven, I've called your father. You'll be okay." He said.

Suddenly, the shadows in the room started to gather in one spot. My dad came and walked towards me with a worried look.

"Draven, your grandfather has claimed you... You will be deaths champion."
