As I heard these words, "I am your father", I suddenly thought of Star Wars. I don't know why, but i did think of Star Wars.
Then I concentrated on the problem. I believed him since his brother and him had the same ability as Axel and I. But that would mean that the father who died in my arms, wasn't my real father.
No... he was my father. He was there during my childhood and every single moment in my life so far. I couldn't believe that he wasn't my dad, but at the same time, I did.
I looked at the man and I noticed similar features from him and me. Our eyes were black as night with a slight red glow. He was tall and skinny with some muscles, but you could tell that he wasn't someone you should mess with.
I looked at his face and I saw a little bit of me in him. He hugged us one more time before going back to business.
"So you probably have some questions right now." He said. "And let me guess, why did I abandon you? Why are you separated? Why is your uncle trying to kill you." That last one, I noticed was directed to me.
Everyone sat closer as if it was story time in kindergarten. We were still in the woods, but no one cared. We were all interested in what he had to say.
"It all started a long time ago..." he said. "Your mom and I were young but I immediately fell in love with her. I probably should have told her about my family since our heritage wasn't the best. I finally got the courage to kiss her and to my surprise, she kissed me back."
"This is all great hearing how you met their mom, but can you hurry along? We don't have much time, we still need to go back to Boniface." Gabbie said.
My dad smiled at her, as if remembering something in his past.
"Alright, my grandfather was an original. He was the seventh one." He said.
"Wait, I thought there were six?" I asked.
"Right, that's what everyone's told, but there were actually seven. My grandfather was someone who thought that people with abilities were better than regular humans. He gathered some people with abilities who supported him. Then, there was a civil war between the people who believed in him and those who didn't."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My great grandfather was actually an original.
"My father, your grandfather, sacrificed himself to protect those he loved. He trapped him in an endless abyss he called Tartarus but he died in the process. Slowly by slowly, your grandfather, is rising from that abyss and wants a champion. One of you guys will be his champion and lead his army of monsters."
I was awestruck by this. That was probably why Devon tried to kill me. He probably thinks that I'm the champion.
"What is his ability?" I asked.
"Well, I only heard that from my father. He told me that he can raise the dead and control them. He can control thousands of undead and I'm pretty sure that while he is in Tartarus, he's busy raising an army."
"Alright, but why did we get separated?" Axel asked.
"That's simple, if you and your brother are close and didn't know how to control your powers yet, your powers will collide and do massive damage to your surroundings." He replied. "Even I had to separate with my brother. Enough with the questions, we need to get you kids to safety in Boniface."
And with that, he casted a shadow around all of us. Slowly, we were all sinking into the ground.
"You be safe now. I'm sorry, I can't come, you need to figure out your destiny by yourself." He said. On that last word, we sunk into the darkness, to find ourselves with a confused principal.
"Why are you in my office?" He asked.
"Our dad teleported us here." I said.
"Oh, so you've met your dear father, Mateo. We were once classmates, did you know?"
"Really? No offence, you look much older than him." I replied.
He frowned at me. "I'm not that old, I'm only thirty eight. Your dads even older than me, I just didn't age that well."
"Wait, you said you knew my dad?"
"Oh yes, we were once friends, the great Mateo Reyes. He was stronger than most of the faculty, you remind me a lot of him Draven."
I almost forgot about Axel in the room.
"Right, I forgot, this is Axel, my brother. We really should be going, Axel still need a tour of the place."
We left the office and into the arena. I'll give him the tour later, right now, we needed to see who was the strongest out of all of us.
"Guys, how do you feel about a little battle royale." My eyes sparked with black and red and black marks started to rise up my skin into my face. "Let's see who is the strongest shall we?"
