Chapter 15- The Three Factions

We all sat down quietly since we could feel the intense aura coming from our teacher. It's been a few days since I last met her.

"Hello class", she said. "Today, we will be doing something different. We have three guests that you are very lucky to meet."

As soon as she said that, three men suddenly appeared out of nowhere. They all had a different aura coming from them. And they looked... unique.

"Hello, I'm Maxwell and my last name... well our last names are confidential." The guy on the left said. He wore a pink suit with and with white pants. He had glasses and his long hair was dyed red.

He wore a dangerous smile that when you see it, you can tell trouble follows him around. His eyes gave a hint of yellow with a blue background.

"Over here is Hunter." Maxwell pointed at the guy in the middle. He looked the weirdest of them all. Unlike the others, he had a little exoskeleton around him. He had blue hair that went to the back of his head in a ponytail, which didn't give him the best look.

"I can introduce myself Maxwell." Hunter said.

"And finally, I'm Blake." The last one said. He looked the most formal, wearing a full on black suit with a tie. He started to move around the room and as he passed me, I felt goosebumps all over my body.

I assumed that this happened to everyone, because they all shivered once he passed them.

His pitch black eyes looked at mine and I can tell he was looking at something inside me, something powerful and demonic.

He suddenly gasped and walked backwards, leaving me questioning why he did that. He talked to the other two people, but I couldn't hear a thing.

They all nodded and the other, Maxwell and Hunter, also walked around the room and looked people in their eyes.

Once they walked back to the front of the room, they started to ask for some students to come with them.

Blake, the man dressed in all black, pointed at me.

"You and your brother, come here." He said.

We did as he told us to. Only a few people got picked by the three people, including me and my friends. But it was only my brother and I who got picked my Blake.

Gabbie and Jon got picked by Maxwell while Adrian was chosen by Hunter.

We left the classroom, leaving the other students and our teacher, Rita Goodwin.

We all went down to the arena which wasn't booked by anyone. This was weird, it was usually booked up by at least one person.

Five students were picked by each person and were now standing behind each of them. My brother and I looked at each other, which was still uncomfortable for me. It was like looking at a mirror.

We split up from the other two groups and headed for the North hallway. Before we got too far away from the other groups, I looked at my friends, worried about what's happening.

Finally, we entered a corridor That was supposed to be restricted to first years. I wondered why they let us in. We walked up to the end and abruptly stopped at a wall. I bumped into another student and he just gave me a scowl.

"This is the Reaper territory. The other factions are not allowed to enter." Blake pointed at the wall. I looked at it and saw nothing special.  "Usually, we choose second years to join a faction, but the principal has told us that there are first years that are quite gifted."

I didn't know why, but I swear I saw him wink at me.

"Now, I must explain your schedules. You will have different classes with different teachers." He handed out our schedules.

I noticed that the schedule was mostly blank, except for the necessities like Math and English. The blank spaces on the white sheet of paper meant that we could choose our own classes. Some decided to quickly choose, but I took my time.

"Finally, there is a tradition among the three factions to see which one is the best. Every year, the students of the factions try to gather "key points" by doing well in classes and attending extra curricular ones."

"The faction with the most key points wins the Boniface Chalice, a great and honorable award. Also, the student that accumulated the most key points wins a prize. The prize changes every year and each one is very rare. I believe that the prize this year is called the Blood Crown."

I tried to process all of this information at once.

"I forgot to mention, You will be sleeping in your faction territory with your own room. But right now, we have limited space so you will sleep with a roommate. My name is Blake, the leader of the Reapers and I wish you all good luck."

Everyone just stood there and tried to not gasp at the last part. He just said that he was the leader of the Reapers. The man standing before me could be strongest person in the world.

I was awestruck. Some people even started to kneel before him. He told them to stand up because what they were doing was ridiculous.

"It doesn't matter if I'm the leader. Just treat me with respect and we'll get along well." He said. "Now, let's move on to the tour of our base."

Before moving on he explained that the wall that was standing before us was actually the entrance to the base. He told us that there was a voice recognition software and that we needed to say the password.

"Remember, the password changes weekly to avoid trespassers. Alright, who would like to go first and add their voice to the software?"

Obviously, all fifteen of us wanted to go, so we got into a line. When we installed our voices in, we got onto the other side of the wall.

"Welcome to the Reapers hall." A robotic  voice said.

The place looked like it came straight from the future, with all the weird technology I've never seen before. I noticed some second and third years pass by. Some of them were wearing suits that looked like what super heroes would wear. As we ventured onto the tour of the area, I was curious if we were going to be wearing those suits someday.

We got a very detailed map of the whole base. The sleeping quarters and the training hall were on the left side and the new classes that were only open to the second years and above were on the right side. Of course, we got special treatment and also got access to those classes.

The school didn't really care what classes we took.  They wanted us to have the freedom to choose, possibly because they think that whatever we prefer will only make us stronger. Our classes started in two days so we had a lot of free time to decide which classes we were going for. I already had one on my mind, cultivation class.

I didn't know how the class actually worked, but it just seemed to interest me. I knew that cultivation meant growing or raising so I thought that it may grow my ability or at least strengthen it. I mean, I could always back out and have a schedule change.

By now, we are nearing to the end of the tour. Blake let us see what our dorms will look like and some of the classes were also shown. We are about to find out who we will be rooming with. I was kind of hoping for a nice and quite person for a change. My friends are the most loud and rowdy group I know, so I thought that it would be nice to be friends with someone else that wasn't... Well, Them.

Blake tapped on his watch, and a blue holographic screen showed up. After tapping a few buttons on the screen, he finally started to announce which rooms we will be living in.

When it was finally my turn, he told me that I was to head to A-7. He pointed to the left and told me to head straight down the hallway. I did as he told me to and I quickly spotted my room.

As I entered the doorway, by using a little card that was given to me, I felt a burning sensation, like every part of my body was telling me to not enter. I swiped the card, making a little faint beeping sound and a green light pop up.

When I got in, a familiar red headed boy was grinning at me. He put his right arm around my neck and rubbed my head with his other one.

"Hey! Draven, long time no see!"
