PARTY TIME...
"Put on this earpiece, so in this way you can communicate with us clearly." My mother handed me and Xan earpieces. I struggled to get my thick hair out of the way. I angrily blew a gust of air when suddenly Xan took the earpiece from me and said gently, "Let me help you." He pushed back wisps of hair that fell over my eyes. Then he twisted a strand of my hair next to my ears and took out a bobby pin. He secured the hair lock in place with the bobby pin then placed the earpiece on my ear. He whispered into my ear, "I'm done." I muttered, "Thanks." "Are you clear with your instructions ? Both of you ?" my mother asked. "Yes. Oh for fuck's sake I am quitting after this mission !" I snapped. "Oh hunny, I'm glad that you are. But let's see if you can make it out alive. Now get the fuck out of my car and move your asses to the entrance." she spatted. "What do you mean if we can make it out ? Hey-" I was interrupted by Xan who practically dragged me out. "Ignore her chica. She wants to piss you off. Don't let her." He stated while slamming the car door shut. "You're right." I sighed. "I guess she's getting on my nerves." Xan wrapped his arms around my waistline securely, "Let's have fun tonight. Me and you." I glanced at him and smiled, "That would be nice." We walked inside and observed the room. It was enormous. Free endless drinks were everywhere. There was really loud thumping music, making me and Xan covering our ears. Everyone was drunk and tipsy, with a few people in clusters sitting around outside either making out, dancing somewhere, drinking or just talking. Some drunk person was stumbling around, waving their arms like a maniac. "Wow. What a party." I groaned. "How are we going to find the man we need in such a big place ? It's like finding a needle in a sack of beans !" Xan sighed. "I need alcohol." I muttered, heading towards the bar. "Two shots of tequila please." I said to the bartender. I downed two shots of strong alcohol in a gulp, wheezing as I feel it burning in my throat. "Damn Akïla slow down ! Eat something first, or else you'll hurt your stomach !" Xan caught up to me and exclaimed. "I'm fine..." I coughed, my head already started to pound. "No you're not. Your breath reek of booze !" He snatched my glass shots pulled me away from the bar counter. "Where... are we... going... ?" I mumbled. "Away from the bar. You're not ready." Don't get me wrong, I can take a whole bottle of vodka if I wanted to. But, I guess I wasn't in a mood to drink tonight. "Let me go ! I'm...I'm fine now." "No you're not ! Wait for me here." Xan pulled me to a corner and rushed towards the bar counter. He returned holding a cup of iced water. "Drink it." I raised the glass to my lips and swallowed the liquid, my headache leaving me. "Thanks, I feel better now." "Don't scare me like this anymore okay chica ?" Xan stared at me. I nodded sheepishly. I connected the earpiece and yelled through the chaos, "Ophelia ! do you copy ?" "Copy loud and clear. You should call me mother, Akïla." I rolled my eyes, "Nah. Where's the fun in that ?" I swept the whole room and then I saw our target standing in the balcony of the second floor. I narrowed my eyes. There were too many guards. There were more than forty guards. "We cannot sneak in and kill him in front of the whole audience. It's too risky. We need to kill him in private. Each entrance is heavily guarded. It's not possible to fight each of them." I sighed. "Well think of another way, daughter." "Oh I am ! Just give me a moment of silence !" I snapped and then turned to Xan, "I can always coax Crudus Homocida out, you know. To fight off the guards while you sneak and kill the leader. After all I killed all off them in the asylum. Just give me a knife." "That's a good idea hunny ! As long as you kill him I don't care what method you use." My mother clapped her hands gleefully. "Shut up ! Is this how you treat your daughter ? Don't you care about her ?" Xan yelled into his earpiece. "Hm. No. Tsk tsk Xanvier, is this how you treat your mother- in- law ?" Xan ignored her and turned to me, "You won't be turning into Crudus Homocida in my watch. I don't want you to hurt yourself. She'll hurt you. We'll think of another way." I nodded and clicked my tongue thoughtfully. How can I go into a room without being caught by the security ? I glanced down on my dress and an idea hit me. OH MY GOD I HATE MYSELF. I clenched my fists nervously and turned to Xan. I murmured, "I know how to go inside without alarming the guards." He looked at me, confused. I sighed and slapped my forehead. I tiptoed and whispered into his ears. Xan widened his eyes in dismay," You are not gonna do that ! We will figure something out." "Figure what ? How ? We don't have much time left !" Stupid Xanvier, always so stubborn. "Whoops ! Andddddd I'm out ! Don't wanna bother you two arguing. Good luck Akïla ! " "Wait ! Mom !" I yelled but the earpieces were already disconnected. I rolled my eyes for the hundredth time. "Don't tell me you're seriously considering this dangerous scheme. I'm not letting you go into the lion's den by yourself Akïla." Xan looked at my furiously. "Do you have a better idea ? Besides, we're losing time ! " " If you insist chica." He said quietly. I took off my earpiece and handed it to him. I ruffled my hair and took few deep breaths. "Wait ! Akïla !" Xan called. "What is it ? Xan-" He twirled my body around and his lips shut me up, caressing my mouth and opening my lips wide. Something smooth, warm, and wet touches my lip, tracing it. Whoa. His tongue slipped into my mouth without even letting me have time to process. He slide his arm around my waist, pulling my body towards him, deepening the kiss. "Come back in one piece okay ?" He let go of me, leaving me dazzled and breathless. I threw him a reassuring smile, "Don't worry fiancé, I will." Akïla you can do this. Seduce the hell the out of the leader. It's easy, right ? I marched to the stairs and as I had expected, two guards blocked my way. "Miss, you are not allowed in here." I turned my face into a pout, "Je cherche ton patron. Il a appelé pour les services de chambre." ( I am looking for your boss. He called for room services. ) The guards looked at each other and then glanced at me. "Laissez-la entrer !" ( Let her enter ! ) A voice commanded. I sashayed upstairs and motioned the leader to follow me. He looked excited, but little did he know, he's welcoming his own death.
