Chapter 18: Good and Evil Will Eventually Be Rewarded

Li Teng didn't head straight for the street corner, but sneakily glanced towards the coffee shop and tried to lift the high stool he had been sitting on before. He didn't hear any warnings about breaking the rules through his earpiece, so he carried the stool over to the side of the street. The director had said that they couldn't go against her instructions, but it seemed that without specific instructions, they were still free to improvise a little.

"Why is he carrying a stool?" Glasses Man muttered curiously from the opposite side of the street.

"He looks like he's playing the role of a thief stealing a stool," the old woman chimed in.

"Is it required by the plot? Or is he improvising an additional scene?" Gao Fei had a thoughtful expression.

"Maybe he's thinking of using the stool to shield himself from the vehicle's impact?" the female office worker guessed.

"How could that possibly stop it?" Glasses Man clearly disagreed with the female office worker's guess.

"It's better than nothing as a shield or buffer when you get hit, right? Either way, we're dead, might as well clutch at straws!" The office woman's tone and expression were fairly relaxed; in her view, they, the extras who had crossed the street, had clearly escaped all danger by now.

"Will he really get hit?" the young girl looked worriedly at Li Teng, who had just entered the street on the opposite side. When she was most afraid a moment ago, Li Teng had comforted her, causing her to develop a bit of a fondness for him.

"Nothing can be done, that's life," Glasses Man replied to the young girl.

"Yes, nothing can be done. If he isn't hit, then we would have been hit. Someone has to 'bite the dust' in this scene, right?" the office woman had just finished speaking when she suddenly let out a shriek, her face turning ashen.

Through her earpiece, she had just received a directive from the director, saying that she had dropped a bank card in the middle of the street and needed to find a way to retrieve it!

"I didn't bring any bank cards with me!" the office woman argued desperately into the air.

Without a doubt, Guo Zhipeng was about to rush out and hit Li Teng, and if she returned to the center of the street now, she might end up getting hit along with him!

"For the sake of the plot, you must find a way to retrieve your bank card lost in the center of the street," the director's indifferent voice continued in the ear of the office woman.

The office woman's eyes widened as she looked toward the center of the street.

Indeed, there was a bank card on the ground, seemingly placed there by force of plot.

"My bank card fell in the middle of the road, can any of you help me retrieve it?" Being smart, the office woman realized that the directive only told her to find a way to retrieve her lost bank card and did not specifically state she had to go back herself. In her desparation, she decided to seek help from the few people around her.

Maybe this could trigger a new plot twist?

Glasses Man looked at the office woman as if she were a fool... His expression made his thoughts clear: return to the middle of the road at a time like this? Are you foolish, or do you think we are?

"You could call him to help you get it!" the old woman also realized it could be a new plot development and quickly pointed at Li Teng, who was carrying the high stool towards them from the other side of the street.

"I'll go get it for you," Gao Fei suddenly picked up the conversation, volunteering to take on the task.

"Thank you so much! You really are a good person!" The office woman patted her chest, relieved that she was quick-witted and quick to respond, having managed to pass her crisis onto someone else in just a few words.

"Don't mention it." Gao Fei looked grim; he kept cursing inside.

He didn't want to be the hero at this time either, but he had just received an instruction through his earpiece from the director, telling him to accept the office woman's plea for help and retrieve the bank card she had lost in the middle of the road!

This plot was utterly treacherous! Just when he thought he was out of danger, this twist came along!

Was this a deliberate prank?

A pressing voice came through his earpiece again, and Gao Fei sighed, resigned to walk back towards the center of the street.

There, Li Teng was walking towards this side of the street with a high stool, while Gao Fei was headed to the other side.

Li Teng was surprised to see Gao Fei coming back, but didn't stop his steps.

He didn't dare to stop.

Following the instructions from the director through the earpiece, Li Teng and Gao Fei, this pair of unfortunate brothers, almost simultaneously arrived at the center of the street.

Once at the center of the street, Gao Fei, as instructed by the director, bent down to pick up the bank card the office woman had dropped on the ground.

Just then, a sharp sound of an engine came from the direction of the alley. Immediately, Guo Zhipeng came bursting out of the alley in a very cool sports car, turning the corner and then accelerating straight towards Gao Fei and Li Teng in the center of the street!

With such a short distance and such high speed, it was difficult for both of them to avoid the speeding car deliberately heading their way.

Especially for Gao Fei, who was bent over picking up his bank card, the difficulty of changing his posture to run away was even higher than that of Li Teng.

At this moment, Gao Fei was completely disheartened, recalling his once beloved girlfriend and his brief but never glorious life.

It's truly lonely as snow!

The few extras on the street all screamed, witnessing a car accident happening right before their eyes, and seeing the two living people who had just spoken to them about to be hit by the sports car—even if it was acting, the scene still had an extremely strong impact on their psyche.

Guo Zhipeng had waited this long to start the sports car, without a doubt, his target was Li Teng, who had once reported him.

As for Gao Fei, one could only say that the plot had made him suffer an undeserved calamity.

At this moment, Guo Zhipeng, holding the steering wheel, had a grim smile on his face, his heart filled with an intense sense of vengeance.

Li Teng's report had caused him to lose his high-paying job at the company and made him spend hundreds of thousands to avoid a prison sentence, engendering in him a deep-seated hatred for Li Teng.

He had not expected to have such an opportunity today, to personally hit Li Teng.

What goes around comes around! Whom does Heaven spare?" Guo Zhipeng floored the gas pedal, the steering wheel and the front of the car locked onto any direction Li Teng might try to escape.

Almost the instant after the sports car's engine roared from the alleyway, Li Teng stretched out his hand and violently pushed Gao Fei, who was still bent over picking up his bank card.

With no director's instructions or commands to stop in his earphones, Li Teng turned around without hesitation, raised the high stool, and charged towards the oncoming sports car.

Just like a medieval knight charging solo with a lance on horseback.

He went forward bravely, never looking back.

After Guo Zhipeng's sports car sped out of the alley, the speed increased by tens of miles in an instant, and when he saw Li Teng not dodging at all, but instead holding a high stool and charging at him, he couldn't help but feel puzzled.

"What the fuck, are you crazy?" A moment later, Guo Zhipeng seemed to realize something, his face abruptly changing.

But it was already too late!

Li Teng, holding the high stool, charged at Guo Zhipeng's sports car and, just before the car was about to hit him, leaped up, aiming the four wooden legs of the stool towards Guo Zhipeng inside the cockpit!

Under the brutal force of the high-speed collision, the four wooden legs of the high stool easily shattered and went through the sports car's front windshield, one leg striking Guo Zhipeng right between the brows, instantly shattering his forehead bone and piercing deep into his skull, while another leg effortlessly penetrated his chest!

The high stool, enduring the counter-impact of the high-speed car, instantly broke both of Li Teng's arms on the side of the stool seat and sent his body flying high into the air.

Gao Fei, who had been pushed away by Li Teng just moments before, scrambled to his feet and saw Li Teng flying towards him, instinctively rushed over and tried to catch his body, resulting in both men rolling over and falling onto the ground at the side of the street due to the enormous impact force from Li Teng.

The Li Teng in Gao Fei's arms had broken arms and was drenched in blood, but he was still alive.

On the other side of the accident, Guo Zhipeng had already died on the spot in this scene.

"Hahaha… what goes around comes around! If you don't believe, just look up! Who does Heaven spare?"

Li Teng spat out a mouthful of coffee mixed with blood, laughing as he looked at the sports car that Sunglasses Woman had urgently stopped and slowly parked at the far street corner.

"CUT!"

Everyone heard the female director's command through their earphones.

An actor had died in the car accident, and although it wasn't an extra who died, it still fulfilled the mandatory requirement for this scene set before shooting.

...

"Unfortunately, the car was speeding towards you as you were crossing the street, and as long as one person dies, this car accident scene will be considered a pass."

"All will be according to my commands in your earphones."

Li Teng had clearly understood the director's few words. In this scene, rules didn't matter, it was the director's commands that were most important.

Therefore, the shooting of this scene ended officially the moment Guo Zhipeng died.
