There were many trivialities in the City Hall, and each one required careful thought by Lide.


For many of them concerned the very foundation of Dawn City in the future.


After calculating the number of Bloodline members the human population of Dawn City could sustain, Lide began to entertain some thoughts.


It was time to expand the Bloodline... taking advantage of the lull when all activities halted during blizzards.


The cold Frost Month made many things impossible to commence.


Audis' plan to plunder populations at the borders would halt no later than half a month later; the harsh winter was the most formidable enemy.


The number of the Bloodline had now become a great trouble for Lide, for although no one in Dawn City could defy the Bloodline, having too few still restricted him in many ways.


Thus, expanding the Bloodline became a priority on Lide's agenda.
