New Comrade

Zoey POV

I saw a small dagger on the table that looked liked Joseph's so I picked it up. But right before I could do anything two people walked in.

Luke: what do you think your doing with that?!

A person that looked about my age with light hair... wait I believe he's the boy that we met in the forest. Did we get kidnapped? No that couldn't have happened with Kaden around; unless? No he couldn't be dead or killed by this boy could he? Then the boy repeated the question that he asked me while going in.

Zoey: I don't believe that is any of your business is it? I don't even know you nor your name.

Luke: though your point is fair it is my business since Kaden gave me the order to watch over the two of you. Also my name is Luke for future reference.

Zoey: I am sorry but it is hard to believe that Kaden asked you to watch us.

I started slowly backing away from Luke, while changing the direction of the blade towards him. I ended up walking into the bed which startled Joseph into waking up. As he sprung up from laying down; he looked around and read the atmosphere. He snatched the dagger out of my hands, pulled me behind him and while giving Luke a deadly glare; he pointed the blade at him.

Joseph: what do you think your trying to do to my sister?!?

Luke: woah I was just checking on her! When I came in she had the dagger in her hands, so I questioned her.

Joseph took a deep breath in and then out. He started to calm down a little and then put his dagger away. After that he turned to me with a VERY concerned look on his face.

Joseph: so Zoey do you want to explain???

Zoey: what do you mean there is nothing that I can explain???

I could tell that Joseph and this Luke person was not buying what I was trying to say; so I had no choice but to explain my actions to them. After explaining why I had the dagger in my hand; and what has been on my mind for the past while Joseph was so mad that he punched the thing that was closest to him. Luke also looked quite upset even though we have only known each other for a bit of time. I begged them to not tell Kaden. They looked at each other then at me and gave me a nod. Shortly after the questioning started.

Luke POV

Out of no where the boy I believe Kaden told me his name was Joseph started questioning me. To be quite honest this whole explaining who I was thing was starting to get old, and I wished I explained everything to them all at once instead of repeating myself three times. I told them who I was and where they were anyways and tried to get me on their good side.

Joseph: How do I know we can trust you???

As I went to open my mouth I got interrupted

Kaden: Joseph don't worry he's a friend. He's coming with us for the journey.

Joseph looked so shocked that his eyes were bulging out of of his eye sockets. Then it hit me.

Luke: speaking about the journey when will we be leaving???

Kaden: we will be leaving tomorrow at sunrise. I'm giving today for the three of us to relax and get a chance to be normal kids.

Future Luke POV

Little did I know just what I've gotten myself into. If only I knew it would have been my last day getting a chance to act like a normal child my age. But I'm glad I went and becoming all three of their friends.
