Chapter 230- Terrible mishap

As the fire spread, soon the scream of the crowd echoed in the air and people started running towards the exit of the amusement park in panic.

Rizi saw how the fire started and spread quickly. She embraced Leo tightly, "No need to look down, baby. Mommy will not let anything happen to you alright?"

Leo nodded and hugged her tight.

He had seen the fire and people screaming and running here and there. That scared him. He was confused and terrified.

"Nothing will happen Mama!" Leo hugged her mother and said. The slight quiver in his voice gave away his fear.

"Nothing will happen, baby! We both are strong and we will overcome this, okay?"

Leo nodded and hugged her tightly as the pod shook again.

Rizi tapped her Bluetooth but the signal was still weak.

She checked her phone but that also was out of signal.

She heard some weird crackling network voice.

She still passed on the instructions and dropped them a message as well.

"Anthony, mobilize the helicopter. Talk to Jason, Zack, Sara anyone ASAP."

She heard some weird noise again and cursed under her breath.

She decided to break open the pod glass as the signal was hindered because of the closed space.

"Damn it!" Rizi disconnected the in-ear device but the Ferris wheel shook badly again.

Her heart hammered against her rib cage.

She gritted her teeth and held Leo tightly.

As the pod was enclosed using a glass, Rizi had to open the lock.

"Baby wait a minute!" Rizi pushed Leo to the opposite corner and started examining the lock.

The Ferris wheel swayed and shook again as the fire grew bigger.

The riders in the other pods were screaming.

Rizi felt a sweat form on her forehead.

She was worried about Leo, not herself.

She always kept a hairpin whenever going out as she knew it was one of the handiest tools.

She pulled out the hair pain and after a few attempts, the door to the pod got unlocked.

As the wind was fierce, she held it tightly to keep the door close but open enough to check for a signal.

"Abby? Anthony?"

"Boss!! Thank god, are you ok?"

"Yes, we don't have time. Try to contact Jason and Zack. Need to mobilize the helicopter asap.

"Boss, Mr Pereira is not answering the call."

"Try Sara"

"No answer!"

"Arlette?"

"No answer."

"Call Zack!"

"Zack is arranging the chopper. The military rescue team will be here shortly. Abby has already instructed everyone." Anthony confirmed.

"Thank god!" Rizi held the door close tightly as she disconnect the call.

She turned toward Leo who observed her with confusion.

"It will be alright, baby!"

"Uncle Zack will be here in no time, okay?"

But as they were at a higher altitude, the fierce wind made it difficult for her to hold to the door, so with a firm pull, she closed and latched it again.

"Come, baby, come here!" Rizi carefully held Leo's hand to bring him closer to her as Ferris's wheel swung and creaked again.

"Mama! I am scared!" Leo buried his face in his mother's embrace.

"Shh!! Everything will be ok, baby! Uncle Zack is coming. Just hang there for a while. Have you watched that documentary on the military rescue right? How do they use the fast rope technique to save people? We will be doing that. Mama cannot do it alone, so you have to help me ok?"Rizi caressed his head as she explained to him in detail what to expect when the helicopter arrives.

Leo nodded as excitement filled his eyes, "ok mama! What do I have to do?"

"You just have to hold mama tightly and not let go. The wind is very fierce so hold on tight as much as possible!"

"That's easy!"

"Yes. Are you still scared?"

"No not now. I will help you and we will be safe soon! I will protect you, mama!" Leo hugged his mother tightly.

Soon the sound of helicopters echoed and Rizi saw two jet-black helicopters coming in their direction.

She sighed in relief.

As the helicopters came near Rizi saw the logo and recognized it to be from Bennetti Group.

Soon few more military helicopters were visible far behind.

Deep in her heart, Rizi knew he would come.

The way he had already kept an eye on them, his elite shadow guards assigned to her, she knew he will show up soon.

Abby must have already informed him.

As a helicopter came near, Rizi saw Zain sitting back and his expression was dark and cold. She could feel the anger emanating from his body from a far distance as well. His green eyes flashed in rage and she knew he was pissed. Utterly pissed!

His entire being appeared dangerous! Earlier when Ethan bathed in his office and gave him the news about bounty, he felt as if his soul flew out of his body.

With the help of Francesco, Zack and Lucas Den, they were able to bring down that page and any other page on the internet.

It was just a moment of relief and then Abby called him with the most devastating news!

He had a chopper on the helipad parked always and without wasting a minute he had mobile it to fly in the direction of an amusement park.

As the helicopter came closer and hovered near their pod maintaining a safe distance.

Zain checked the pod and took a deep breath as he saw both Rizi and Leo safe.

First that bounty!

Then, this incident!

Someone had crossed their limit to harm both of them Rizi and Leo.

His woman and his son!

He saw Rizi had embraced Leo tightly and Leo had clutched her tightly in a death grip.

On any normal day, that sight would have brought him so much warmth.

But right now he felt sadness creep into his heart at the thought of how scared his son must be at the moment.

How his woman was handling the situation calmly despite just recovering from her injuries?

That was a strong mother trying to keep it together for her child!

She was indeed one hell of a remarkable woman!

Zain removed his winter jacket and tied a rope around the life jacket that he had worn underneath earlier.

He securely tied and was about to slide down the rope to reach their pod but halted when he saw the pod creak and shook as the whole wheel was losing its balance because of fire.

"No!!! Wait there!!" Rizi hollered as she opened the door. "It cannot handle more weight!"

Zain nodded as he understood her sentence by reading her lips. He signalled her to open the door and as Rizi did, the Ferris wheel swung and jerked again.
