Chapter 12: Something Lost

1.)Later that night we sleep. I wake up and pee on the bathroom. As I notice a crying noise, emitting from the terrace. It was Jen. "Queen of Beaches?" I asked her. "Needy Fairy... Oh!" said Jen as she rubs her eyes. I look at Jen. She was actually tearing up. "It's almost 2 weeks Alex... I'll be moving out. Thank you, for meeting two... very good people, in my pathetic world." Said Jen as she keep weeping. I look at Jen. "What do you mean? We are...almost finished, furnishing the baby room for you! So you can stay here....I hate to admit it. I started to like you, to be with us." I said. I do, she is like a sunshine ball and unpredictable, as I asked her, "Where are you going next?"

2.)"Somewhere." said Jen. I hug her and say, "Don't go..." I said. I feel kinda teary. She releases me. "I never thought... To find caring people like you two. Especially...Simon.... I...I'll be honest with you... I...I love Simon. That's why I'm leaving. " said Jen. Simon walks to us. "If you love me, why are you leaving?" asked Simon. Jen looks away. "WHY WON'T YOU STAY?! I... I love you two Jen... I hate to admit this.... But, Silv is right... you are a cute,sexy,wonderful girl." Said Simon.

3.) "NO! SIMON! I WANT TO STAY TOO!" shouted Jen. She started to cry. I go to Simon looks away. I realized it. "It's because of Mr.Stone isn't it?" I asked. Jen looks away even from me. "I'm sorry... I do, love you too Simon. My life... is more complicated than usual though. My...my boyfriends, ended up... in the most demented things possible. You...you were 'just' lucky, you are Anton's friend's child." said Jen. Simon's eyes bulges. "It will not just concern you...he might hurt, Alex too... That's why...That's why I made a hard decision..." said Jen as she hugs me and Simon. "I want to feel both of your warmth... at least... for now." said Jen.

4.) Later in the morning, the sun did not shine yet. Jen prepare her things. She hugs both of us as she kisses Simon in the lips. "Good Bye. Maybe... forever." said Jen. She rides away. She picks that puppy that hides in the bushes. Jen tears down as she shows me the puppy. "Needy Fairy, take care of Tootskie. He is an outdoor pupper..." said Jen. s She comes closer to me and whisper, "Make the right choice, needy fairy... I will always love you too like my little buddy." said Jen as she hugs me. Simon hugs her from the back. "I'm sorry Simon..." said Jen.

5.) Days have passed, late in fall. There is a substitute teacher that takes her place. The Substitute teacher was also nice, But,Jen was very different. I tear up a little. Evening time. Simon and I just sat in silence, back in the deafening silence. Someone knock on the door. It was Marie. "Jennifer? Jennifer?" asked her. "She moved out..." said Simon. Simon looked sad. "Damn... Ros! Sebastian! We are leaving! We will find Jennifer!" said Marie. I pull Simon's tan top from the back. "I'm sorry...buddy, I had no idea too... I don't know where Jen went, buddy." said Simon he just take a beer can and drink.

6.) The Next morning. Kris looks at me. "Jen is still missing..." said Kris. Ros goes to us. "Jen was sandwiched between my dad and mom's personal problems. My dad plays dirty...and ...he was obsessed with Jen since then..." said Ros. We are looking at Simon fixing the tractor. "Poor Simon..." I said.

7.) This Night. I was cooking, alone in the kitchen. Simon returns. He removes his coat and Jen's scarf. He takes beer from the fridge. He sits down on the table. "Simon..." I said. "Mhhh?" he says. He is not really responding much. I put the baked potato and fried chicken. "Thanks." said Simon. I miss how he laughs though. He just...cold. Later, I take a hot bath upstairs. Then go back to my room. I am back here since Jen left. I quite miss the Queen of Beaches. She was quite...something else. After I dressed up. I open Simon's room. Simon was half naked in his long green pajama. I crawl on his bed on his back and hug him. "I knew you miss Jen too." said Simon.

8.) "I'm just here Simon...I will never ever leave you." I said. "Why people always leave me?Am I a bad person?" asked Simon. "No you are not... You never had, Simon. You are the best person, I ever knew... You are an inspiration. Only, If I could hug you so hard, all your broken pieces will melt together, I will do it." Said Alex. "thanks Buddy... At least... you still need me. Promise I'll be fine." said Simon. I put my head closer to his hard back. He snores. He got asleep pretty fast.

9.)Later that morning, I found a puppy lost in the bushes. It was very small too. Well, I skip class this day and play with this puppy. Simon goes back in the house. He seems like he was panicking. "My keys! My Keys!" said Simon. I took his keys from his coat yesterday.

10.) Simon grabs my hand. We go to his car as we went to the light house. There are police around the area. Marie was crying as...Jen's car was being towed from the beach. Her belongings are there, even the bundle of money inside a waterproof -food container. Ros was there too. I cover Simon eyes. "Buddy! Get your hands off! ALEXIS! I SAID I CAN'T SEE!" shouted Simon. We go out from the car. Mr. Stone was there too with all his bodyguards in white suits. Marie's Bodyguards in Black Suits faces them. "Marie!" said Mr. Stone. "Anton!"replied Marie. They raise their hands.

11.) "My beautiful... beautiful Jennifer... Why?" asked Anton as he throws a white rose. "I miss everything about you..." said Mr.Stone. "Why? Have Jennifer seduced you so much? You gone crazy?!" asked Marie. "No, Goodness... I never touch Jennifer! I love her purity, and smash everyone who tries to defile it!" said Mr. Stone. So that's why, she left. We just went back. Simon was drinking near the fireplace. It was about, 6...7...11 beer cans already. He opens another one.

12.) His 12th. I hold his hand. "Simon... Stop it." I said. He looks at me with his red, crying eyes, reeking with alcohol. "I hate everything... I fucking hate everything Alex... I just..." said Simon. I hug him from behinds. He looks at me. He starts to tear up. "I'm tired buddy... I'm fucking tired..." said as he whimpers. I touch his face. "Simon, look at me... I love you and I will forever be with you...if you need too." I said to him. "Thank you buddy... Thank God I have a son like you..." said Simon. It saddens me that, he always sees me like a son... not like anything else. I help him back in his bed. I was tired. This is tiring for me too. I thought Jen is a saving grace...but. Her life is fucked up too. Poor Jen. Poor Simon. The love between them is just, taking off too. Simon opens the door in my room.

13.) "I can't sleep." said Simon. I sigh. "Come here Dad." I said to him. He crawls in my bed. He becomes very needy for people when he was drunk. I rub his hair. His curly hair sure is stringy. We wake up the next moring. Simon was smoking in the terrace. I go there and take his cigarette. "Dad! You quit years ago!" I said.

14.) "I know..." said Simon. Few snow feel. Oh no! Tootskie! I rush downstairs, as Tootskie. I take Tootskie, crawling out of the floor matt. He was tiny and cute. Simon sees Tootskie shaking. Simon warms him up near the heater. "Why are you shaking little guy?" asked Simon. Simon was also shaking from that tank top. I wrap the two of them up in the comforter. Simon giggles. I hug him. "Simon, it will be hard at first... It will get better in time." I said. Simon looks at me. "Call me DAD! Why are you calling me Simon, Simon,simon?!" asked him in a laughy manner.

15.) "Fine. Dad." I said in a soft voice. "I know you are tired too..." said Simon. I cooked him meat pie. Tootskie was playing around. It puts smile on Simon's face. Tootskie, runs outside in the snow. There is a woman with short hair, scarf and a long black coat in shades looking at us. Tootskie runs to her. She pets Tootskie. She puts a collar on Tootskie. She goes away. Tootskie goes back. Simon runs to her. I follow him. It was... Jen?! But with Black short hair, black lipstick and gothic get-up. Simon hugs her. "Stop it Simon... I don't want you, to get involve with me..." said Jen. "I love you..." said Simon. "I know...That's why, I'm leaving for a while." said Jen. She signs a cab. Simon pauses as he just...watch his new love go.
