Chapter Eleven: “Engagement”

The night ended as we where walking on the snowy street, there were no cars. It was lonely. We heard Jazz music on the other side of the street, he grabbed my hand and walked me towards there while smiling at me, Chris loves Jazz music. We got to a bar, and this amazing band was playing Jazz music, he pulled me to the dance floor near us and we started dancing. He whispered in my ear, "I want to live every single moment of my life with you.", and I whispered, "I Love You" to him several times. We sat down and he ordered some drinks, he had the need to keep celebrating.

Our celebration ended by walking home. We got home and our family and friends surprised us and the celebration continued, Chris and I were already exhausted but we couldn't leave.

-"are you having fun?" Chris asked me while dancing.

-"yeah, I'm okey. I'm just a little tired." I answered him, not really a little tired. I was exhausted.

Chris grasped my hand and said to everyone, "thank you everyone for being here. But it's time for us to leave." As we

left the room he didn't go straight to my bedroom, he headed towards the front door and carried me to his car. He headed straight to his house and said, "we need some more privacy, and we weren't gonna get it at you parents house." He said as I started laughing and caressing his hair as took me to his home.

The next day was sunny and the snow started to melt, it was getting warm outside. Chris left for work but he had left me two Advil tablets and a water on his bedside table with a message saying, "I Love You", I was too happy to even think, I looked a my engagement ring and it was shinning with the sun light. I went downstairs and found a big bouquet of lilies and breakfast already made. I don't expect him doing this everyday but I could get used to having nice new flowers every time I wake up and breakfast ready every morning. As I was eating, I remembered about all the phone calls I have to make for my move in to Boston, the only things that made me doubt about me moving here is Veronica. The front door bell rings and I go answer, I hope it isn't one of Chris's friends or coworkers.

-"Veronica?" I said, surprised she was here.

-"hi Lily." She said hi, and she had brought a friend with her too.

-"who's this you brought here?"

-"oh, this is Brad. My new boyfriend. I wanted to talk to you and I wanted you to meet him." She told me, as I was super surprised.

-"hi I'm Brad, but you already know that." He said with shyness in hi face.

-"cute!" I said to Veronica as we both laughed and I invited her in.

It was still early, so I poured them some juice.

-"so Veronica, and Brad... what are you doing here?" I asked her.

-"look, I know that I said some pretty hardcore shit, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have treated you that way and I want to make things right. And I heard you're getting married! To Chris!" She said.

I was actually surprised about how things turned out between Veronica and me. She came to apologize and she wanted me to meet her new love of her life, and she congratulated me about my engagement with Chris. It felt like nothing had happened at all.

It was time for them to go, I followed them to the front door to say goodbye and we hugged, Chris jut had pulled over in the garage and he wont out of his car.

-"Veronica?, hi." He said to her surprised that she was here.

They hugged and Chris met Brad. They left the house and we waved them goodbye as they were leaving. Chris and I went inside and I told him everything that had happened. We were house talking and Brad wasn't a bad guy, he's great for Veronica and I'm happy for her.
