Chapter 2

After Maya's burial, we all went to Clara's family rest house in Zambales. It is located inside the forest that is surrounded by the trees. It is a modern bungalow house with a big wooden door. It has three bedrooms. We decided that since Clara's family owns this house, she must stay at the master bedroom while Kim and Anika will share the room and I will share room with David.

"Ugh, why do I need to share room with Kim? I want to share room with David!" Anika said.

"We're still students and we have to make sure nothing dangerous will happen." I said as I carry the last baggage inside the house. "Okay, let's unpack first then we'll eat after."

The guest room only have one bed but it is enough for two people. It has it's own bathroom too and the windows are big , you can see the beautiful view of the forest in here.

"Oh! There's a cliff there! David, look. " I said and pointed out the cliff.

"Wow! It's beautiful! We should go there tomorrow. That would be a nice place to take pictures. I can now have something to post on my Instagram." David said.

"Yeah, we should." I said.

"You know, girls at my school really crave for my photos. They are willing to buy a copy of my baby pictures to have something to add to their collections. So, I want to make an effort for them too. I don't want to waste the efforts of my fans." He said proudly.

"Okay, that was really creepy. You are creepy, so is your so-called-fans." I said.

I went outside and found the girls making dinner. Kim was preparing the table, while Anika and Clara was in the kitchen, cooking together. Back in high school, Clara and Maya was the ones who always cook for us while Anika and Kim do the table preparing.

"You girls are so cute, this brings back time." I said to tease them.

"Whatever, Calvin." Anika said "Don't ruin the mood. Just shut your mouth. We're almost done"

"We're not kids anymore. What happened in the past will be in the past, nothing will change. " Clara said. She took a spoon, scoop the soup then sip it. "Hmm, it tastes good."

"Let's eat!" Kim said while preparing the table.

"Hi ladies! What do we have here?" David said as he came out from our room.

"We're having Pork Adobo." Clara said.

"Oh! That was Maya's favorite right? I used to cook her favorite Adobo back then and she would be very happy." David said as he sit down beside Anika.

Clara paused for a moment. "Yeah." she said.

"David, you're so insensitive." Anika said.

"What's wrong? We all miss her. It's not bad to remember her sometimes with this small things, right, Clara?" said David.

I am sitting beside Clara and I saw Clara's blank expression. She just nod at David but there's something wrong. Did I just saw-

"Calvin? Hey?" Kim said.

"What?"

"I said, let's pray already. Let's eat." she said.

We are all eating quietly. You can only hear the spoons and forks that we are now using. Clara finished eating first then went to her room.

"Look what you've done, David. Clara look sad again." Anika said.

"Uhm, guys? I think we should not talk anything about Maya from now on." I said.

Clara came out from her room, carrying a rectangular box. It looks old and worn out

"Why don't we play a game after you guys eat?" Clara said while smiling widely at us .

We're all speechless. We never saw Clara smile after Maya died. She would always wear her blank expression.

"T-that sounds fun!" Anika said. "What game is that?"

"It's called Memoir"

We are now here in the lounge in front of the fireplace, playing the Memoir board game. Clara just finished explaining the mechanics of the game.

There is a spinner placed at the center of the board, around it, there are ten questions. It is mostly consists of questions that has something to do to your past. Once the hand of the spinner stopped, and point on one of the questions, the player will pick one master card. That master card will be the follow up question to the first question. There are four master card, it consists of three another follow up questions, the 'How?' , 'With who?' and 'Why?' questions and one safe card. When the player picked the safe card, the player has the right to not answer the first question. Once the player answered the first and follow up question, the player will press the button of truth that is in the corner of the board game then light will appear in each corner of the board. Red means the player lied and green means the player is telling the truth. The player who will get the most number of green light within two hours will be the winner.
