Chapter 7

"What was that?!" David said.

We're both catching our breathe and we're now here in our room. I locked the door to make sure Maya won't get in and plan on escaping this house.

"There's no time. We need to get out of this house." I said as I quickly go and searched for a way out.

"The windows was locked." David said, kicking the windows to open it. "It won't budge."

"The doors of each rooms are open. Let's split to find a way out faster." I said.

David did what I said. He unlocked our room's door and peaked outside to see if Maya's there.

"Hey, tell me. That was Maya, right?" David said as he looked at me.

"I can't really tell but that's how she dressed her self when we are in high school." I said.

"I wonder what she wanted from us. We did what she wanted, why won't she just let go of us?" David said. Tears are forming in his eyes but he quickly wipe it.

"We're going to be okay... For now, let's find our way out." I said and went out of that room first.

We searched for a way out. We looked for every single corner in this house but there's nothing in here. All the doors and windows are locked. I went to the lounge and sit in front the fireplace.

Was this my punishment for all the bad things I've done? I even brought David with me

"Hey, Maya. I'm really sorry for what I've done to you. I was about to surrender myself to the police but I got scared. You know, my parents did everything for me to have what I have right now and I don't want to disappoint them. The guilt in my heart bloomed when I found out that you died. I don't even get the chance to say how sorry I am." I said while tears are falling down on my cheeks. "I know that I deserve to die but please don't involve David, he's a good friend of mine. I know that you're angry but please spare David." I said, hoping that Maya would hear what I'm saying.

I'm about to lose hope because we're locked in this house and we tried everything just to get out but the windows and doors won't break easily. We're really tired and my wounds bled because of much force I exerted earlier.

David came and joined me here in the lounge he looked very pale because of blood loss.

"You should rest first. It's morning already and we don't have enough sleep. Let me find a way." I said.

He did not respond. He just lay on the floor and sleep. His wound in the arm looked bad. We really need to get out of here immediately.

I am staring blankly at the fireplace when I noticed something. There's a door knob behind the fire and that looks very suspicious. I immediately went to the kitchen to fetch some water and poured it on the fireplace. I touched the door knob and I flinched because I almost burned my hand.

"Ouch!" I said. I used my shirt as a glove and turned the door knob. The wall behind the fireplace opened and I saw a stairs going down. I fit myself on the frame of the fireplace and go inside the wall. As I go down the stairs, the wall automatically closed. When I reached the last step of the stair, I saw a white room full of monitors. I can see David sleeping in the lounge through the monitors.

What's this all about? We've been watched the whole time?! Who's that girl earlier?!

I looked around the room. There's left over food in the table and there's another door in the right corner. I tried to open it but it's locked. I went back to see the monitors. We've been watched in every corner. Even in the forest. I looked thoroughly in every monitor and I saw the girl from before. She's in a room that I don't know where is but that room is full of guns and bullets. I can see that she's loading a gun. After loading the gun, she stood up and went somewhere where the surveillance camera can't see.

After a while, I heard someone coming from the door in the right corner. I immediately go up the stairs and get out of there.

"Where did you do?" David asked. "Why do you looked surprised?" he added.

I went near him and whisper in his ear. "We've been watched the whole time. Maya wasn't the one behind all of this. We have to act natural, that person is dangerous."
