Beacon Hills was always weird and Alex knew this from a very young age. But, the only person who believed her was Stiles. Stiles has always been there for Alex, and maybe that's why she found herself falling for him. And, when Scott joined the group, things just became better. Which is why the three were practically inseparable. The three never went anywhere without one another, Stiles leading them into different crime scenes while his dad continued pulling the three out of trouble.
Alex chuckled at the memories until she heard a tap at her window. She smiled and walked over to it to see a smiling Stiles.
"Hey," Alex winked, opening the window.
"Hey," Stiles said.
"What's up?" Alex asked.
"Can't a guy just visit his best friend?" Stiles said.
"A normal one can but usually it's something with you," Alex said.
"Alright, you got me," Stiles said, putting his arms up in surrender.
"So, what's up?" Alex asked again.
"My dad was called in about twenty minutes ago," Stiles said.
"What for?" Alex asked, becoming interested.
"Apparently they found a body in the woods and they're calling everyone out," Stiles said.
"A body?" Alex said. "If they already found the body then what are they looking for now?"
"They only found half the body, Alex," Stiles said. "They're looking for the other half."
"No shit?" Alex asked.
"No, I'm not kidding," Stiles said. "They only found half."
"Holy crap," Alex said. "Are we going to investigate?"
"Duh," Stiles said. "We just need to get Scott."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Alex asked. "Let's go."
Once Stiles and Alex got Scott, they were on their way to the woods. It was a quiet ride and Scott kept falling asleep in his seat.
"Hey," Stiles whispered, getting Alex's attention.
"What's up?" Alex asked.
"We're almost there," Stiles said. "Do me a favor and wake Scott up?"
"Sure thing," Alex smirked.
She wrapped her arms around the seat and flicked Scott's ear. He stirred but didn't wake up. Alex flicked Scott's ear again but he still didn't wake up. Finally, Alex put her finger in her mouth and stuck it in Scott's ear. This woke Scott up as he jumped in his seat.
"Gosh mom, leave me alone! I'm up!" Scott exclaimed before realizing where he was. "Shit."
"I guess I'm your mom now then?" Alex asked.
"I mean, you are the mom of the group," Stiles chuckled.
Alex smacked Stiles on the back of his head.
"Hey! Don't hit the driver!" Stiles said.
"I do what I want," Alex said, sitting back in her seat.
"Yeah right," Scott said.
Alex leaned forward in her seat and smacked the back of Scott's head.
"Hey!" Scott said, holding the back of his head.
"Don't get sarcastic with me," Alex said.
Scott only rolled his eyes as Stiles parked his Jeep in front of a sign.
"We're seriously doing this?" Scott asked as the three got out of Stiles' Jeep.
"You're the one who always bitches about nothing happening in this town," Alex said.
"You say that as if you don't," Scott said.
"Because I don't," Alex said.
"Sure," Scott said, dragging the word out and earning a punch in the arm. "Ow!"
"Hey, it was well deserved," Stiles chuckled, grabbing a flashlight out of the Jeep.
"Remind me why keep her around if she just abuses us?" Scott asked.
"Because I'm the original," Alex said. "And you guys love me so so much."
"Yup," Stiles said.
"Alright, can we just get this done with?" Scott asked, as the three started walking through the woods.
"Why?" Alex asked. "Do you have somewhere you have to be tomorrow?"
"Yeah, school," Scott said, earning a look from Stiles. "But, I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow."
"Right," Alex said, rolling her eyes. "Because sitting on the bench takes so much effort."
"Hey, you wouldn't know," Stiles said, sounding a little offended.
"Yeah, because "lacrosse isn't a sport for girls"," Alex said, using air quotes. "I've heard that too many times."
"Anyway, I wanted to get a good night's sleep because I'm playing this year. First line in fact," Scott said.
"Hey, that's the spirit! Everyone should have a dream, even if it's an unrealistic one," Stiles said, looking at Alex from the corner of his eye.
"Is that why you like Lydia?" Alex asked, lightly hitting Stiles' chest and earning a glare. "On a completely unrelated note, which part of the body are we looking for?"
Stiles stayed silent for a moment, furrowing his eyebrows.
Alex avoided looking at him because she thought he looked cute while he was so deep in thought.
Scott noticed Alex's actions and he too looked away.
"You know, I didn't even think about that," Stiles said, breaking the silence.
"What if the killer is still out here?" Scott asked, looking at Stiles and sounding a little nervous.
"Also something I didn't think about," Stiles admitted.
"Idiot," Alex mumbled, making Scott chuckle as the three began climbing up a small hill.
"You know," Scott said, once they neared the top, "it's comforting to know you planned this with your usual attention to details."
"I know," Stiles said as Scott started panting.
"Inhaler," Alex said as Scott brought it out to use it.
"Thanks," he blushed, putting his inhaler away. "You know, maybe the asthmatic should hold the flashlight, huh?"
"Maybe," Alex said before her face went white and she pulleed the boys down.
"What are you doing?" Stiles hissed.
Alex rolled her eyes and pointed at the police officers.
"Alright, let's go," Stiles said, grabbing Alex's arm and tugging her in a different direction.
"Hey!" Scott yelled. "Wait for me!"
Scott continued chasing after the two until Stiles and Alex were caught. Scott hid behind a tree while Stiles and Alex were being chewed out.
"Hang on, hang on," a familiar voice said. "These little delinquents belong to me."
"Hey, Mr. Stilinski," Alex said nervously.
"Hey, dad. How are you doing?" Stiles asked.
"I'd be doing a lot better if you didn't listen to my calls," Stiles' dad, Noah, said.
"Hey, I'm not listening to the boring ones," Stiles said, trying to defend himself.
"So, where's the third one?" Noah asked.
"Who, Scott?" Alex asked. "He's at home."
"Yeah," Stiles said. "He said something about wanting to get a good night's sleep before the first day of school tomorrow."
"Yup, it's just us," Alex blushed. "In the woods. Alone."
"Scott, are you out there?" Noah called out. "Scott?"
The only response Noah got was silence.
"Well young man," Noah said, placing his hand on Stiles' neck, "and young woman," Noah put his hand on Alex's shoulder, "I'm going to walk you two back to Stiles' car." Noah then looked at Stiles. "And, you and I are going to have a discussion about something called privacy and protection."
Alex rolled her eyes as Stiles groaned in annoyance.
