I only saw darkness, I hated it, I wanted it to be gone, I wanted to get the thick air to stop holding me tightly, I yelled out of frustration, I couldn't stop it.
I ran, searching for signs of light, something that could help me see. It felt like hours as the dark still kept me in it's an ominous cage of torment.
I snapped, I started trying to be the light instead of finding it. My body glowed, my veins shined through my skin. My body burned, the pain was unbearable. I yelled again, the tears were like lava as they dripped down from my cheeks.
Soon after my eyes burned as well, I saw only the bright color of white.
My body exploded, my glowing veins let the yellow liquid flow out while it was melting off my skin. I truly was in hell.
"Gah!" I sat up.
"You're awake?" a woman's voice asked in surprise.
I was drenched in sweat, I was gasping for breath. Beside me sat someone, it was the same girl I sparred against.
"Y-You!" I sneered.
I attempted to get out but was quickly pushed back down.
"Calm down, your body needs to heal," she ordered.
"No way, you almost killed me." I swatted her hand away.
She sighed and stood up, "You do know we had to try our hardest to ensure you break your shell."
"Look... I... Ah... Sorry that I swatted your hand away, I just went through hell and the first person I saw was the one sent me there." I buried my face in my hands.
Fortunately, she seemed to understand my frustration. She patted my back then patted my head, I could feel my face blushing.
"I... why are you patting my head?" I asked.
She almost immediately stopped and pulled her hand away.
"Oh, uh, forget I did that!" she demanded, "Anyway, Sensei Shinsuke and Sensei Kazuto are waiting for you outside, they have important matters they want to discuss with you." she stood up excusing herself.
I took a moment to get out of bed, my body felt like I had just been through nine 'Leg days' in a row and I pumped too much iron.
I opened the door and saw a lot of people, some of them looked like Monks, others looked like average city people and others looked like bodyguards. Half of them had swords others had bows. A big wall surrounded the whole city and the city or maybe even the village was massive.
The wall had towers and each seemed to have atleast two people surveying the area outside.
I got poked while I awed for the amazing architecture of the buildings and homes.
"Hey, dummy. I said let's go." She pulled me by my cheek.
"Agh! Hey! Who do you think you are!?" I asked.
"Mina, Mina Fuhusake and yours?" she asked.
"I'm... Jake, Jake the snake." I said.
"Oh alr-"
"Kidding, kidding, I'm Jake Nakano." I grinned.
She frowned then pouted, "Well you have a thing for irritating people, I advise you to be respectful towards the others. No one tolerates silly jokes lightly here. We are at war after all."
"At....war?" I asked.
"Yes, the sooner we whip you up into shape, the sooner we can strike back and defeat the Dark Arts users."
We walked on the main road. What I knew so far was that I was "the chosen one" for this guy named Kuroto, who was a human but got turned into a demi-god. Gorn is the bad guy that supports the extinction of mankind and gave this wall-breaking guy all that power. This may have more story behind it but I feel really confused as to why I was chosen and how Dark Arts and Light Arts are actually even a thing.
It didn't take long until we saw Shin and Kazu talking seriously about something serious, Yuri stood by Shin's side and pretended to be like their bodyguard.
Mina stopped and gestured for me to go on ahead and talk to them like I knew everything that was going on and that we were all free to discuss war plans.
"Hi, Jake here." I awkwardly waved.
Shin and Kazu both smiled and waved back, Yuri seemed committed to guarding Shin.
We approached them. "Hey, so what's this thing about war I keep hearing about?" I casually asked.
"Well you see Jake, it's much too complicated to explain over at a public place like this road right here, first we need to go to a more secluded area, like our main headquarters. There we can explain this all in detail." Kazu-Sensei pointed towards a huge building.
We all sat around a table and Kazu gave Shin the talking staff.
"Ahem... So... The beginning... Wow... Listen up. Before humans inhabited earth, there were only animals. One day the clouds created a beautiful sculpture of a dragon, too perfect. It was so perfect it came to life, she was a gentle dragon, the white Dragon named Leia, she was so perfect that even her own shadow from the clouds caused another dragon to be made, he was a dark dragon called Gorn. They fell in love, they were mates and life was peaceful until it was until that fateful day Leia discovered man-kind. They were both curious about our existence and our unique intelligence. As time passed, we evolved and our numbers grew just as fast, Gorn wasn't pleased with us humans destroying his home, he wanted to kill us all... however... Leia was against the idea, she loved humanity. They would argue about what should be done with us but Leia remained content about her decision. Gorn knew he couldn't defy her, she was much more powerful, he was literally just her shadow. Decades have passed and Gorn couldn't tolerate it anymore, he left Leia. She was heartbroken because she knew why he had left, still, she stayed with her decision. As time went on she decided to interact with humans. In the form of animals or even turning into a human from time to time. She has fallen in love with some humans, that's because 1 in 1000 people have at least 0,0001% Leia in their DNA. You are the rare breed of people that have 5,0% Leia DNA within you. You can grow your power to even up to 100%. Anyway, Gorn didn't stay respectful to her wishes, his anger and resentment grew towards humans, he'd find people who shared his outlook on humanity and interacted with them, that's also why some HAVE the same amount of Gorn DNA as us Leia people. Eventually, a rebellion began, Gorn began wiping out hundreds of cities every week, Leia heard of this and confronted him. Their armies collided and once lovers turned foes. Their battle was fierce, so fierce that land started forming into smaller continents. At the very end, Gorn took Leia down with him by exposing her weakness... humanity. She saved a city via almost dying against Gorn's Smoke Fire. They used up all their energy to do one final attack, we humans call it the big bang. The ground got sucked into the force that they created and their bones merged together. They drifted off into space... we call that the moon now. The war never ended, we always had the upper hand, but... Now the Gorn clan has a new weapon... Luke... He has more power than we've ever seen before.. so now it's up to you Jake... to do what Kuroto once did."
I sat in disbelief, my life was a lie. Everything I thought was real, wasn't.
