Warnings

Turbulence shook the plane, making Will's head hit the roof. They strapped their seat belts tighter and held onto whatever they could find. Lightning flashed this way and that, Will was extremely surprised they hadn't been hit yet. Sully angled the plane a different way every five seconds, which made for an interesting ride. Sully started to descend to see if he could land or at least to see any better. Below the clouds, the sea was a churning mess and the fog was dense. Something loomed ahead, its shadow barely visible through the fog. Sully dodged it at the last moment, "Whoa, almost hit a cliff er some-"

He cut himself short as he dodged another cliff.

"Think we should land?" Will asked.

"Hell no! Clearly, there's nowhere to land!" Sully yelled.

"So we're just gonna keep going?" Will shouted. Will got no response in return, and he wasn't surprised.

The weather got worse once they passed the cliffs, thunder sounded more often, and the waves got bigger. One almost engulfed them whole, but Sully quickly pulled up.

"For the love of God." He murmured once they were clear.

A few minutes later the storm seemed to lift completely, the sky gradually becoming clear, and the ocean eerily calm.

"We're still in the Triangle, right?" Felix asked.

"Yeah, but this is a little... strange," Sully replied.

They traveled a few miles further before they saw another island. It had outrageously steep mountains, like what you would see in a cartoon, and it was lush with trees, light blue water, and sandy white beaches. Sully let the plane skim on the water and they drifted right into the picture-perfect beach. They got out, making sure the plane was still in decent condition. Felix and Sully found some scuffs and dented metal but didn't seem to find any problems otherwise. Once the boys were done with a thorough check, they turned their attention back to the island.

"I wasn't really expecting it to look like this," Sully said.

The island looked like it hadn't ever been touched by man. They grabbed their gear and set out into the woods. Felix went first, chopping down the vegetation.

"I don't think we're going to find anything inland," Sully suggested.

"Yeah well, you never know."

They probably hiked for what seemed like hours until Will spotted something in the brush. It looked like a brownish man-made cave with strange markings on it.

"Hey, there's something over there," Will called out and pointed to the structure.

"Oh yeah, you're right." Felix agreed and headed over in the direction Will had indicated. As they got close to it, Will could tell it was ancient. They got out their flashlights and went inside. The cave turned out to be more of a tunnel, gradually sloping down into a soft, silent, darkness. Carved into the walls were strange foreign symbols, and although every space on the walls was covered in the code, a few stood out from the rest. The noticeable symbols were larger in size and filled in with various colors of paint.

"It seems to be some sort of language," Felix observed, taking out his notebook and pencil.

"Who do you think could've done this?" Sully wondered out loud.

"You think I know?" Felix laughed.

"I wasn't expecting you to," Sully huffed, "It's just weird that something like this is here."

'Whoa,' Will thought as he traced a symbol delicately with a finger.

Felix was furiously copying down the painted symbols and any others that appeared unique.

"I'm gonna go down a bit further. You find here?" Sully asked Felix.

"Yeah I'm good, you go on ahead."

Sully shined his light into the darkness, "Will you comin'?"

Will tore his eyes off the wall, "Yeah."

Will followed Sully down the tunnel as it sloped about a hundred feet and leveled out to show cave drawings all over the walls. Will noticed that the drawings all looked like mythical creatures, most of them depicted as mermaids. On one side of the wall, they were colorful and pretty and on the opposite walls, they looked more like gray, ugly fish with pitchforks. Other paintings looked as though they were out of a fairytale book, even a picture of what looked like a game of chess. A little further down there was something that looked like a scary troll or elf with big round eyes. Many of the other creatures looked like they had been combined with other ones or were something entirely new and alien-like.

Sully was further down when he called out, "Hey Felix, come take a look at this."

Felix walked to where Sully was, Will following as Felix passed. Once they were at Sully's side, Felix flashed the light on the wall. From what Will could see it was just images of people dying and blood was everywhere, however, amidst the carnage, a lone ship. Next to the depiction of the battle, something that looked newer and more like graffiti appeared in red:

'Go back, it isn't worth it.'

Underneath the scrawl on the ground was a shredded up body.

"Aw, that smells rank!" Will said, pulling his shirt over his nose.

"This must have been the guy following our mysterious pirate," Felix said, noticing the man's dress.

"Okay, then how isn't he a skull and bones?" Sully questioned.

"Nooo idea," Felix said, bending down over the body to see if he can find anything. He came back up with a Spanish coin.

"I'm liking the look of this more and more," Felix said.

"I'm not sure I am," Sully said.

"Don't get cold feet yet," Felix said, heading his way out of the tunnel.

Will and Sully followed, and Will took a deep breath of fresh air.

"I say we get off this island, it's giving me the creeps," Sully said.

"There's still more of the island to explore. That and I'd like to find that man's ship." Felix pointed out.

"Well I'm going back to the plane, you go ahead and have fun." Sully said, "Will, what about you?"

"Yeah, but I might go out swimming," Will responded.

Sully turned around and made a face, 'Right.'
