Cool water pierced through Will's suit and onto his skin. The current gently pushed Will as he swam further out.
Will was swimming in a secluded cove, it was sandy and the prettiest blue he'd ever seen. The ocean floor sloped gently out, and as it got deeper, coral started to appear below him as well as beautifully colored fish.
Up ahead, Will saw one that was quite strange. It was pink with thin, flowing, fins all around it, and shaped like an eel. Will's eyes widened in shock and a twinge of fear, he'd never seen anything like it. It slithered through the water like a snake and disappeared behind some coral.
Will reached a little clearing of sand surrounded with coral and brightly colored plants, waving in the current. As Will was about to swim up for air, he saw something swim into view, it looked like a squid with a long pointy shell for a hat.
Will went up for air and by the time he came back down it disappeared and he continued in the same direction. Will's swim didn't last too long, wanting to take a break from the swimming and the freakishly weird sea life.
He was starting to swim back when he heard a beautiful noise break through the water. Will stopped and looked for the source, but couldn't find anything that would be likely. Will swam in the direction it seemed to be coming from and found a cave that was emitting the sound. Will swam inside and found a little lagoon where he could catch his breath, however, life had something else in mind for Will since less than fifteen feet away was a living, breathing mermaid.
