Never Say Goodnight

Hours later I was coiled tighter than a spring with a combination of stress and desire. Sitting next to Chase had been torturous as his hand landed on my thigh, and he thoughtlessly trailed it along my skin.

But it was compounded by the thick-headed men who kept resisting letting me do what I was there to do.

Chase had shot me warning looks more than once when my anger had started to bleed through. By the end, I just ignored them.

But I hadn't convinced them. They were still thinking about whether or not I could join the team they were putting together.

They'd lied to Dad today, just as I suspected. They did know exactly where Amy and Aiden were. But it wasn't safe to approach, because they were pretty confident he'd built channel shields around the house.
