Love Interrupted

Chase pulled away and I whimpered my disappointment, but to my joy, he just nipped my lip and pulled me deeper into the room.

Yes, yes, yes!

I followed him, stifling giggles and blooming in goosebumps wherever he touched me.

But then he stopped and pulled away far enough to meet my eyes. We stood there for a second, both panting, our eye locked. "Are you sure?" he asked, his voice a low gravel.

I cupped his face, because he was so handsome, and so good. It was baffling. Most guys tugged me toward a bed as soon as they could without offending me. And here was Chase—deep in arousal—stopping himself. Panting. But checking with me. I'd never loved him more.

"I've never been more sure of anything in my life," I gasped, rubbing his jaw with my thumb. "In fact, if you stop this again, I might actually kill you."
