They Both Love Me, But One is a Devil

"I don't know. I think… I think there's been a lot going on. And you've had a pretty clear idea of what you're doing. But I was thinking… I bet we can find a lot that we both want. Or want to do. And I'm wondering if… maybe if we go after those things the rest will kind of sort itself out."

I can't see how, but I'm so desperate not to be fighting with him, I walk closer. "Okay then, I want my sister and Dad safe."

"I want those things too."

I nod. "I want to invite Aiden to our side, see if I can turn him."

Chase freezes, mouth open. "What? After all this, you still think he's even going to consider—?"
