Evan finally arrived in New York City. But it wasn't the same place anymore. There are a lot of abandoned cars and it's eerily silent. He's grateful that he can still drive close to his sisters' apartment. But he needs to stop his truck and walk two blocks.
He stopped his truck and killed the engine. But he didn't go out of it right away. It's a good idea to observe for a few minutes. Even if he's dying to check if her sisters are home. He needs to move them to safety before things get worse.
The city seems to be the epicenter of the unknown virus. When the astronauts came from NASA, they all went straight to New York City to have a press conference. That's when the virus got activated. The astronauts ended up being walking corpses.
When the situation broke out on the news, Evan didn't waste any time. He has to save his sisters no matter what happens. Now that he has finally arrived, he needs to get out of there and drag his sisters home to their father. It's the only way that they can be safe.
Five minutes have passed and nothing happened. It's time for him to come out and pick up his sisters. They have to do it fast without causing any delay. He has no idea if there are zombies around. The plan is to be safe inside the truck before they find out.
Evan gets out of his car as fast as he can and starts walking in a rush. It's too quiet to be in Manhattan but he needs to move fast. He can already see his sisters' apartment. Carrying a gun on his right arm, he opened the door when he arrived on the porch.
He tried to listen through the door but it's all dead silent. The door is unlocked which means that if sisters are inside, they are not alone. He slowly swings the door open and enters. There's nobody in the living room and kitchen area. They might be hiding in their rooms.
"Is anyone home? Eve! Elle!" Evan called them out.
The growling started to happen that breaks the silence of the house. Evan got alerted by the movement he noticed from Elle's bedroom. A zombie is waiting for them to come out and now it's going towards him. The sound attracts the walking dead, but it looks blind.
Evan opened the front door widely and went out of the house. If he wants to rescue his sisters, he needs to get rid of this zombie first. It seems that it can hear his movements and walk out of the door to follow him.
Before it can go near him, he immediately goes back to the house and slams the door shut. Evan wasted no time and went for Elle's bedroom door. It's locked which is a good thing because it means that they might be inside.
"Elle, Eve! Open the door. It's me, Evan. We have to get out of here fast!" He called out again for them.
He heard the closet opening and a soft thud on the floor. They are now walking to the door but remain silent. He decided to knock again to let them know he's still there.
"Evan, is that you?" That's Eve's voice, his eldest sister.
"Yes, it's me, Eve! Is Elle with you?" He responded.
"Yes, she's right here. We're opening the door!" Eve informed him.
The bedroom door slowly opens and he has never been happier to see his sister's face in front of him. Elle hugged him right away. She's shaking in fear. But Eve looks fine since she's the brave one.
"We have to get out of here now!" Evan informed them.
"Where's the zombie that guards our door earlier?" Elle asked.
"Oh, shoot! I almost forgot about that. I tricked it to go outside the front door." He remembered.
"That's fine. We can use the back door and just go around. Where's your truck?" Eve thought of the solution right away.
"It's two blocks away from your front door." He replied.
"The neighborhood turned into zombies. They go out at night. We need to get out of the city before it gets dark!" Eve informed him.
"Okay, let's go then!" Evan told them.
The three of them proceed to the backdoor. Evan opens it slowly and checks if there are any zombies around. But before he can go out, he spotted a group of zombies charging at them. They need to get out of the house now or they will be trapped there.
Evan signaled Eve and grabbed Elle's hand. They run as fast as they can to avoid the walking dead. It's a good thing Elle knows the neighborhood so well. But there are zombies everywhere. It seems that they heard their movements and are now running for them.
They have to climb the fence to get to the other side where his truck is located. Eve didn't waste time and climbed to it. He helped Elle to do the same before he also climbed the fence. The zombies are already near the fence and trying to go through it.
"Go to my truck now! You can see it when you turn on the right side." Evan instructed them.
"No, Evan! Where all going at the same time. Keep on climbing!" Eve declines.
The fence is going down and the zombies will be able to catch up to them. The moment Evan touches the ground, they all run for his truck. They can hear the fence is going down and the zombies are catching up with them.
"There's my truck!" Evan pointed it out for her sisters to see.
"Wow, you parked in the middle of the road?" Eve asked.
"Good idea, little bro!" Elle commented.
"We're almost there. Get in right away!" Evan told them and unlocked the door using his car remote.
Eve gets into the passenger seat in front while Elle takes the back seat. They both lock their sides of the doors as Evan gets into the driver's seat. He was able to close the door on the driver's side before one of the zombies jumped next to it. He started his truck immediately but the zombies were all blocking their way.
"Drive Evan! They're no longer humans so you can just hit them." Eve suggested.
"If you say so!" He said and drove the truck away that hits them all.
