Jimmy and the Committee

2/8/4999

While Jessica had been in a work frenzy elsewhere on Karth the news of a dragon had quickly spread and the fact that it was named after her was a very popular and well liked idea.

The committee had two separate meetings at the same time. In the room behind the spell they developed theories about the dungeon and its implications. To the outside world they were also talking about the dungeon but it looked more like they were going over setting rewards for the quest of defeating it. When they were taking a break from trying to solve the mystery they had a visitor.

"Hello everyone," The Weather Man P.A.I.L. said as he entered the building.

"Hello," Jimmy replied. He had officially started the first day of his internship, so he was sitting at the front desk with the committee building P.A.I.L. as part of the training and work experience, "What can I help you with today?"

"I need to discuss a matter that until very recently wasn't of great importance with the committee," The P.A.I.L. stated.

"What matter would that be?," the committee building P.A.I.L. asked filling in a form for him.

"The position of the equator on our maps appears to have been a bit off and we need to update them. The division line for the Eastern and Westeren hemispheres seems to be accurate and in line with the new day line but I would like to ask them to review it given the new weather patterns," the P.A.I.L. said causing Jimmy to yawn. The buildings P.A.I.L. poked him in the ribs and gave him a chastising look.

"You need to get a handle on that while you are in here," She whispered leaning over to him. The look on his face said but it is so boring.

"Thank you for your inquire will create a quest for the science community to look into the matter," she told the weather man P.A.I.L. and he went on his way.

"Why do we need to make a quest? Just let me look at the data and I can do it," Jimmy said pulling out his holopad.

"Stop that this instant," Dzvezda said walking over.

Jimmy looked up at her a little confused. She shook her head and sat down on a chair the P.A.I.L. made for her so she could talk to the boy.

"Our job when we are in this building is to set quests and plan community functions," she started, "We do not solve the issues brought to us here ourselves because not everyone who is selected can fulfill them all and there are too many for a small group to work on alone." She took a pause studying this boy who she knew was very smart and waited for him to acknowledge what she had said. He sighed and nodded he opened his mouth to protest that that was just so boring but closed it quickly.

"I know that as a group we could fill all the requests for quests ourselves but the reason this is a boring job is that it is only supposed to take up a portion of our day so we still have time to work in our given fields," Dzvezda sighed, " I really wish I had been the one in the vet office when the baby dragon came in for a visit. I hope that Jessica remembers to bring in the egg shell soon. That is a project I am looking forward to."

"Isn't it cheating a little bit to take that for yourself," Jimmy asked teasingly. The light elf pulled a face and crossed her eyes at him.

"Not really if I wasn't working here I would be the one who was given that responsibility," She informed him, "All of us here are among the top of our respective fields so I am sure this sort of thing will come up quite often."

Won't that draw attention, he thought looking at her she didn't need a mind link to know what he was thinking and gave him a sad smile and shook her head no slightly. Jessica had made it seem like a very natural occurrence the people had already accepted that maybe the Jessica was better at selection than a straight lottery system. They had decided among themselves that given the recent scandal it was for the best and got back to the business of living.

Harmon had scheduled a follow up visit with Dzvezda at her office because she was the one in charge of caring for the eggs before the Blackout and she decided to take Jimmy with her to meet the dragon after the work day was done to give him a treat.

"Do you want to come with me to my office after we are done here?," she asked him. Jimmy who liked anything that wasn't this building at the moment agreed with extreme enthusiasm.

"You don't even know what the fun part of it will be yet," she laughed at him.

"If there is something more than just this boring place. I hope it includes being able to actually work on something," Jimmy said a small gleam in his eye not quite as noticeable as Jessica's but still there, "Harmon is bringin the dragon to see you!"

She nodded and smiled getting back up to go do some more paperwork and patted him on the head. Normally Jimmy would have yelled at someone for doing that but he was really beginning to like this lady and he wanted her to like him too.

They had finished their work day and got to play with newly hatched dragon. He learned more about Dzeveda's worked and took an interest so she let him stick around for the rest of the day and learn about how she treated various creatures. She even taught him a few vet spells that she couldn't use since the Blackout and he performed some for her so she could see more patients. Jimmy was pleased that his friendship with her was going so well. At least until I say something smart alikey and she starts to think of me as a little shit too, Jimmy thought a little sad.

Amarelli Neilson was in a frenzy of her own and not paying attention to the world outside the store she was setting up for herself. Finally being granted a business licence she was working out all the fine details of what she wanted her first business venture to be. When she did finally check her phone and she once again reviewed the video of Jessica speaking a language that was similar to the one in her own mind but appears to be a bit more advanced. She decided to go talk it over with her after she got some rest. She may be able to help me with my theories and she does seem to really like me she thought to herself smiling.

The Queen had slept for the first time in her new body during this time and had dreamed of England in a way she had never imagined she could. She woke up she stretched like it was an old habbit but it was in fact the first time. It felt so good to be able to feel the muscles in her body reacting to her movements naturally. She was looking forward to others of her kind getting to experience the same
