The Fairy Woman

The doctors worked hard to heal the cuts on the fairy's neck. They stopped the bleeding from her ankles and wrists. They ran a full medical scan and found a small tumor in her brain that had been releasing a growth hormone. They admisitored cancer cure tea and it cleared. She did not shrink any further as the damage it had done was now permanent.

They found nothing else inside of her on the scan and could not figure out why Jessica had needed medical doctors to treat a monster. Dr Smith lifted the coma spell.

The woman woke up and looked at them surprised.

"Where did the girl who freed me go?," She asked in elvish. The elder gasped.

"She needed to rest and heal," He replied, "She brought you these people to treat your wounds and heal you."

"So she lived through my attacks even though she had already been weakened?," The fairy asked.

"What do you mean she was weakened?," Dr Fred asked kicking himself for not forcing Jessica to stay. He and Dr. Smith understanding why Jessica had come to them for help rather than a vet. She was clearly sentient.

The fairy looked at him surprised he was speaking the language of the gods.

"She was fighting against a very powerful paralyzing poison when she got to me," the fairy replied switching to english. Her body lit up and started glowing. She looked down surprised. That was not something a fairy naturally did. When you live in the dark glowing like that would give you away.

"You are very different from the fairy's of home our home world," The Eldery said.

"I was born on the dark planet and I must say you are different from the big creatures there yourself," The fairy said not looking away from her own glow.

"Are all fairies of your world capable of speech?," Dr Smith asked. She needed context for this woman's existence.

The fairy shook her head, "No I was born a natural creature and have no idea how I came to be like this or how it is that I am here. The last thing I remember before all of the pain I was gathering nuts for winter."

"Ok let us run some more tests on you and find out what else is new," Dr Fred said. He offered her a friendly hand to hold so she could rise up from the exam table they had laid her on.

"Any answers you can give me would be greatly appreciated," the Fairy replied.

"Do you have a name?," asked the Elder. The fairy replied with two short squeeks. It wasn't a name so much as the sound her parents had made to get her attention when she had hatched. The Elder nodded. "We will call you squeek for now. The woman who found you her name is Jessica you can ask for her help in selecting a name later." The fairy nodded as the doctors drew blood and studied her scans.

The next 5 hours they spent studying their findings. They figured out quickly that she could eat just about any food they could give her and let her eat and drink while they waited for the blood to finish processing.

"Ok," Dr Fred said finally looking up from his screen, "These results seem to indicate that you can survive in light. I am going to set up a tent that blocks most of your body. I want you to poke your finger through a hole and I will expose it to light. If it hurts just call out and pull your finger back through. There will be a flap that covers the hole if you do."

The fairy decided to trust these strange people. She knew that if the Jessica had wanted her dead she would be. If the Jessica believes she can trust these people with me I will trust them too, She thought to herself. Once the tent was in place she went inside and poked her smallest finger through. Soon she felt light on it but it did not hurt. The doctor increased the light slowly and just felt warm. She liked the warmth and torn the tent open to feel it everywhere. Relief washed over the group that whatever had happened she would be able to live a relatively normal life. The female doctor fashioned a dress for her to wear out of on in her bag. She cut hole in the back so her large moth like wings had freedom of movement. The Jessica as the fairy had called her was sound asleep but at that moment a smile spread across her lips. The exited the dungeon with help from some adventures who had come down. They left most of the creatures on the floor alone just calming them down and feeding them for now. This is what everyone who had shown up was in the process of doing.

One of the half dwarf half light elf adventures (the one who had the plant in her bag) hung up her phone when they opened the boss level room on level 27 and found them.

"Hi there doc's," She said blinking and deactivating the sunlight spell on her eyes. She could see the doctors struggling to adjust to the spell being active and the light they turned on. She walked forward and deactivated it for them.

"We have all the animals and monsters who needed treatment heading towards the vet clinic right now. We haven't gone into the final nine dungeons because for some reason they only have one monster each," She explained to them. "It has taken a while but I think we have found at least one pattern to this place."

"What would that be?," Dr Smith who hadn't even known about the dungeon until Jessica teleported her here asked. They gathered their things and started leaving as the woman explained.

"It seems the first ten levels have messed up and over sized Earth creatures. The next 10 is the same but with dwarish home world creatures. Then 21 to 40 are every other floor light elf home world and dark elf home world. We don't know why the last nine are the way they are but after seeing that one there managed to cause Jessica harm we aren't going in until we have our raiding party back together," She summarized the explanation she had gotten. She also filtered out all the cursing. They climbed into her motorized air cart and drove in relative silence to exit. They could see creatures being fed in each room and smiled and waved as they passed them. When they reached the bottom of the mountain instead of heading home they went into the cabin. When they entered they saw the sleeping pile of bodies.

"It's the Jessica," the fairy said pointing to her.

"It's the overly tired and needs to sleep Jessica," Dr Smith told her. Spotting Mrs Strongwell's everbag on the table she knew Jessica was fine for now. She could look her over in the morning. She pointed to the bag for Dr Fred's sake and nodded relieved.

Dr Smith and Fairy took Jessica and Harmony's rooms and the men took Harmon's and Arholo's.

They slept soundly until 8 AM the following day.
