At exactly 8 AM the next morning the enter cabin was startled awake by a loud explosion nearby. Jessica jumped up and was out the door first. She looked up in awe at the sight of Phoenix in a cage in front of her. The creature was nearly the size of her house. It spat on the ground again causing another explosion. Jessica smiled and turned back to her friends.

Arholo's eyes were filled with tears. Although twice the normal size this creature was from his home world. He had never seen one but the stories were amazing. A creature that could survive a fire and be reborn. It had woken up from the sleeping powder someone had used so they could get it out the mountain. Jessica with both of her braids undone and her hair a tangled mess flew up to look it in the eye.

"You knock that off right now. Don't you know people are sleeping?," She chastised it.

The Phoenix have no context for this creature speaking to it replied in dwarvish, "You would throw a fit too, if you woke up in a cage."

"I suppose I would but did you say anything to these fine people when they found you or did you just attack?," Jessica replied in dwarvish.

"There was something I couldn't see shoving me forward. I spat the slava in mouth out and the next thing I knew I woke up trapped," the Phoenix replied.

"Well I am very sorry about that. Please understand that no one here means you any harm," Jessica said calmly in english and the Phoenix just nodded.

Jessica waved her wand and unlocked the cage. The wonderly fire colored bird spread its wings.

"Don't take off this isn't your world," Harmony called out. The Phoenix looked down at her.

"How can that be?," it asked.

Arholo and Harmon shrugged. Peter called out, "Don't know simply is."

The Phoenix looked back to Jessica, "Why is it that you can speak the language of the gods?"

"Simple, I am a goddess," Jessica replied and started laughing, "I am joking of course. It is the language all of the people brought here from my ancestors home planet spoke. You need to follow that flying guy over there waving at you." Jessica said and pointed to Fae waving at them. "He is going to take you to see some people who want to look you over and make sure you are healthy."

The Phoenix nodded and followed the Fae.

"What a wonderful thing to wake up to," Mrs Strongwell said from the door of the cabin.

Jessica rolled her eyes thinking about it she was a little annoyed her parents were here. This was a mission after all. She landed in front of her mother.

"Aren't you supposed to be running an apartment complex?," She asked her mother in a no nonsense tone.

"We got 5 new P.A.I.L.s to cover things," Her father said.

Jessica was confused, "Why?"

"So we can pay them for their time and they can save up for bodies of course," her mother replied.

Jessica smiled and shook her head. Her parents always took things to the extreme.

"Plus this adventuring thing looks like fun," her father said showing off his M.U.G. adventurer outfit.

Jessica thought it looked good on him the mud color setting was best for camo in most situations. Then another thought accored to her.

"Dad where did you get those clothes?," She asked.

"Alorha sold them to me," He replied like it was the only logical thing to do.

Jessica teleported to M.U.G. it was back to itself and the stair were open. All sorts of people were buying adventure gear.

"You know these clothes aren't fashion items or for some fad thing right?," she called out.

"We need the gear for protection while working with new animals," One guy called back.

"I need because I am needed to study the dungeon," A scientist nerd yelled from the back.

"We need it because the spells protection the cities of hope seemed to have died during the blackout and monsters have moved in," some else said.

"The cities of hope what now?," Jessica said appearing in the committee room.

"For fucks sakes Jessica," Zerek said dropping his coffee.

"HOPE CITIES EXPLAIN," Jessica demanded loudly.

Jimmy hit her with a calming spell and told her all about what the former chairman did and how they were fixing it. She nodded.

"Why haven't I heard about this before today?" she asked looking around the room.

"We had it under control and you were under doctor's orders," Piper said.

"Yesterday would have been the first day we could have told you," Westley added.

Jessica nodded, "Do you guy think I ditch the dungeon today? There is something I want to get made."

"Yeah things are running smoothly," Zalora said, "Two things before you go."

"Only two ok," Jessica said staying put.

"Please look over this spell we made yesterday. We already opened all of our hidden rooms but we wonder if anyone else had ever had one," Jessica took the paper and looked at her, "Go eat first." Zalora said grabbing Jessica under the chin. Jessica sighed and nodded she had been so excited about the Phoenix and got distracted she nodded. She went back to the cabin and had breakfast with everyone. She read the spell over and made some minor changes. When she finished eating. Dr. Smith and Dr. Fred grabbed each of her arms and pulled her to the couch to run tests. Jessica laughed. When they were done. Harmon and Harmony made her change her clothes and brushed her hair out. When everyone was finally done fussing over her she thanked them and teleported to her workshop it was 9:45 AM. She sent the revised spell to the committee and got to work.

She blinked and looked up 3 hours later when Jesse arrived to get her to eat something. She looked at him blankly as she ate the sandwich he offered her. She started building the device and when something she needed wasn't right by her she would teleport to go get it. Another hour past and her phone rang she answered. The systems automatic voice said. North Pole 1 lost soul 0 degrees by 0 degrees elevation 50 kilometers falling fast. Jessica teleported to the North Pole and grabbed the person from the air and teleported back to M.U.G.

She set him down and took a step back. He stood up and make a screeching sound unlike any langue Jessica had ever heard. She clamped her hand over his mouth. Finally getting a look at him.

"Who the hell are you and why are you wearing a Fae costume?," She asked in English.

The man looked at her and blinked. He fiddled with a device on his side and spoke.

"What the hell is a Fae? I am a native (unpronounceable screeching sound)!" He exclaimed.

"The language in my mind translated that gibberish to ancient long dead species of alien. Would you care to explain?" Jessica asked still busy with her work.

"Could you please stop that and tell me why there are living creatures on a blank planet?," the man asked in a demanding tone.

"How about I just snap you in two or put you back where I found you," Jessica said, "I am really very busy and if you don't explain yourself quickly I will grow tired of your existence." Her threat was very real and he felt it.

The not Fae nodded slowly realizing she had not used a wormhole to come find and rescue him when his had missed its target, " My name is (Jessica plugged her ears slightly) Raymond." He decided to go with a translation rather than piss off the strange girl.

"What did you mean when you said blank planet?," She asked.

"I mean no life forms should be here unless they were programmed to by my cube," He looked around her workspace when he looked back she was gone and then she reappeared.

"Jimmy are getting this?," she said looking at hovering black orb above her head. She just knew he was nodding again. She grabbed the man by the back of his head and shifted through the jumbled mess that was his mind. She worked out that he had been in some kind of fight while traveling through space and in a rush to get out alive he opened a wormhole. He had miscalculated something in the time variables and gotten trapped in a time lock above Karth's North Pole. She let him go and pulled out her phone.

He watched her talk into a communications device.

"He is not the admin," Jessica said into the phone, "He may know how to get to the admin though." She paused and looked at him. "No I don't know why he has gold irises. Call Dr Smith and get her to come give him a work up. I am almost done with the portable teleport pads." She paused again. "Yeah I will bring him over when I done here." another pause , "It must have unlocked the time lock he trapped himself in. You have that kind of power with all of you joining hands like that."

"What the hell is a portable teleport pad?," Raymond asked her.

"I just invented it," She looked him in the eye and studied his features carefully. He did have the eyes of a Fae but he had the ears of an elf and the strong jawline of a dwarf. She sighed deeply.

"Ok look, I get that you are confused," Jessica said softening a little after verifying he was not the enemy she was looking to fight, "From what I can tell the best translation for your species name in my language is Enlightened Warriors does that make sense to you?" He nodded "From what I saw in your mind your kind most likely died out long before the planet of my ancestors came here from even finished forming."

He looked a little sad and she put her hand on his shoulder.

"Don't lose hope, right now I am already on a quest to find answers of my own for my own people. Maybe, when I am done I will be able to help you find answers for yourself. I am going to have a doctor come and take a look at you but before she gets here I want you to hold out your right hand and carefully picture a fire burning in it and then say the word 'spark' when you have a clear image in your mind," she stepped back and waited.

He did what she asked but the most he could get was a small spark to appear.

"Ok that verifies that the element we call magic isn't of your kind either. Your powers will grow to their limit the longer you breathe our air. I saw in your mind that you were a teacher," she paused.

He nodded and said, "Yes, that is why I created these planets and the cube. It was on my ship. I don't know where the cube went."

Jessica scrunch up her face and shook her head, "I think it might have ended up on Earth. The home planet of the species of people that I am descended from," She did a little spin, "Do you have wings?'

He looked at her confused. She disappeared and reappear with human boy with gold irises like his own. Peter unfurled his wings to a shocked and surprised Raymond. His jaw dropped open when Peter put his wings away Raymond blinked and closed his mouth.

"Watch him," She said and disappeared. Both men studied the other one carefully. When Peter went to scratch his nose Raymond leaned forward a bit. Peter tilted his head slightly.

"You get that she was talking to me right?," Peter asked the strange man.

Raymond relaxed a little he had for some reason followed her orders on instinct. She had spoken with such authority it was the only reasonable response for a low tier officer.

Jessica came back and said, "Ok I have studied the whole issue now. Turns out there weren't any other hidden time lock room so all of the magic they put out focused on his ancient one. Basically, you were trapped in a time lock my friends cast a spell to release all the hidden timelocks on the planet. You appearing is the result of their powerful magics focusing solely on the only one left one Karth."

"I don't understand why there is magic here," he said, "That was not what I created these planets for. This doesn't make sense."

"For now just let it not make sense. I have work to do and you have a check up," Jessica said pointing at the doctor walking in. Followed by a woman with entirely different wings.

"How many forms of sentient life were formed on this planet?!?, Raymonad exclaimed.

"We were not formed here," Dr Smith answered him, " Our ancestors were all brought here suddenly from different home world's roughly 5 thousand cycles ago."

Now that the doctor was taking care of him Jessica finished what she had been working on. The fairy woman sat on a chair and watched her carefully.

"Peter, I need to use you a guinea pig," Jessica said laying a large silver circle at his feet.

"No, no way, I am not gonna do it," Peter said crossing his arms and shaking his head.

Jessica tilted her head and gave him her big puppy eyes. He laughed and relented by nodding, "Ok I have already fed it a steel bar so you should be able to activate it without using your own magic. If you feel your magic being used you have to stop," she paused and looked him in the eye. He nodded firmly, "Now step onto the pad and command it out loud telling it exactly where you want to go."

Peter stepped on the pad and said, "Jessica's bedroom." He had meant it as a joke because he thought that she was screwing with him he was suddenly in her room and the pad was still underneath his feet. He did not step off it and said, "Next to Jessica at M.U.G." He returned.

"Did it pull on your own magic at all?," she asked not caring about his stupid destination choice. She was interrupted by a mewing sound. She stomped her right foot twice and Purdy jumped onto her shoulders. "Hi, pretty baby," she whispered to the cat and scratched his ears. He had hitched a ride with the doctor when he heard she was going to Jessica. It was getting a little difficult to keep track of her. He curled by her neck and started to purr loudly.

"Kitty!," Raymond exclaimed suddenly startling Jessica who had honestly forgotten about.

"Raymond, did I tell you my name?," Jessica asked suddenly realizing how rude she had been earlier.

"No, you were a little busy trying to figure out if I was your enemy or ally," Raymond answered. She nodded in agreement.

"My name is Jessica and on this planet I am the most powerful of its warriors by a large margin," Jessica informed him. He felt a little relieved that the whole planet wasn't full of people as powerful as she was.

She look at Peter who still hadn't answered her and he shook his head no. Jessica who now knew the exact specs of the device check her stock of the raw materials choosing not to use them all at one she created a spell that would make 5 more of these pads. It set to work and she turned her attention to the doctor.

"Is his genetic profile what I think it is from looking at him?," Jessica asked Dr. Smith who nodded her eyes wide studying his dna helix on screen.

"It would seem that this is a base code of dna for the life on the dwarven and elven home worlds," Dr Pepper Smith said in awe.

"Ok so this cube of yours would it have the genetic profile of your species the, uh," she paused looking for the better translation and not finding one, "Enlightened Warriors?," she asked. Still processing the information she had gathered in his head.

"Yes but it is not supposed to use it," Raymond answered quickly.

"Is the device sentient?," Jessica asked. Raymond tilted his head which he had picked up was a was to ask for and receive information, "Can it think for itself and act of its own volition?" Jessica clarified what she was asking.

"Yes, it is a very adaptable and programmable an eager to please device," Raymond said as the doctor took another blood sample.

"How many of these 'blank planets' are connected to it?," Jessica asked carefully.

"There are 30 which is two more than the average class size," Raymond said pleased with himself.

"Don't smile about any of this," Jessica said, "Our ancestors may have only have wound up in the mess they found themselves in because of you."

Raymond realized from what they had said she was probably right. He looked a little sad because all of this life here was so close to being like his own but was not at all like him or the people he remembered.

"Well the good news is you have information that I don't and we happen to value skilled educators on this planet," Jessica said, "We call her Karth. Treat her with respect or I will punish you." She looked to the doctor who nodded that she was done and Jessica teleported him to the committee building. The members were scrolling through the new list of achievements they had received when the system accessed their time locked rooms. Jessica had beaten them on many projects but each one could find a few that were totally theirs that no one else had done. Jessica looked at them, " Phones down, glasses on. Go live." Jessica's channel had been open on more than half the screens even with it being offline. "This is a public service announcement. I have been hiding things from you all. The people on the committee are actual volunteers who did so to help me because and I can't not stress this enough, Karth IS dying. I am not being melodramatic this is a real issue that affects every citizen so listen to the details from my chosen panel of representative and if you have an action based spell yourself on you from prior knowledge of this I remove it now."

She stepped back and let the other's explain the details, "You wait right here next to this P.A.I.L. and do not touch anything until you have been fully vetted. Oh, do you need to pee?"

She asked because he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

Raymond nodded, "Hon, can you show him where the bathroom is and get him some food?"

"Sure thing Jessica," The P.A.I.L. replied.

That matter well in hand Jessica ported back to M.U.G. and saw the first two pads were done. She fine tuned them out of habit but honestly they were perfect. She pushed the button in the middle and it collapsed to the size of a baton. She tried to hand it to Dr Smith surprising her.

"Jessica,'' Are you sure?," Dr Smith asked not even reaching for it.

"You are one of the few people on the planet who can get the most use out of this. I need you test it for me," Jessica said like it was the most obvious thing in the world confused as to why the doctor hadn't just known she would be getting one. The one in her hand she took to the dungeon and handed to the foreman in charge of clearing the animals out of that sick twisted cave. She explained how to use it and how to feed it steel bars. It was very user friendly he took it happily so he could transport animals to the rehab centers being set up. The biggest concern they had to deal with right now was about the ones from the dark elf home world because of the 20 hours dark 10 hours of light it had. The elves had developed a way to deal with it and it looked like they would need to find one for these creatures as well.

Jessica looked at the list and was confused by the last 9 levels. They all only list one enemy. She turned looking to the forman.

He looked at what she was reading and said, "We wouldn't dream of it we will let you know when we have all of these animals cleared out." Jessica nodded and teleported back to M.U.G. scratching Purdy under his chin. He stayed quiet the whole trip. He is such a good boy, Jessica thought to herself.

Now that the telepads were under way and she had Raymond under control. She had checked in at the so called "Epic Dungeon". Jessica looked at Peter.

"Are we actual good now or do we need to have a non magically calm conversation?," she asked hoping the answer was no.

"I think we have both said all there is to say," Peter replied, "Just one last thing." He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her hard. Jessica pushed him off her and threw up the sandwich she had eaten all over him. Peter stood there covered in his answer and Jessica started blushing. She didn't even have time to try to hold it down. That was by far the grossest thing that has ever happened in the history of any world, she thought. Peter just nodded. Purdy gave off a huff huff sound like he was snickering. Jessica decided it was time to go home so she just walked away out the back door and to her house.

"That nasty stupid Fae," she whispered to Purdy who nuzzled his head under her chin.

She walked into her house and Jesse was there holding out a glass of water and some vitamins. Jessica took them and sat down at the table.

"I kind of lost the lunch you gave me earlier," she mumbled. With her head resting on her arms. Jesse looked confused so she sighed. "Peter went and kissed and me and the next thing I knew my lunch was all over him."

Jesse, Mr Strongwell and Mrs Strongwell busted up laughing like she had just told them the funniest joke they had ever heard in their lives. Mrs. Strongwell looked at her daughter's pouting face and just laughed harder.

"Oh OK, so no emotional support from the nicest parents on Karth," Jessica said lifting her head frowning.

"You can't blame them," Jesse answered her still laughing, "I will get you some more food. Why don't you…. Why don't you go….."

Jessica tilted her head waiting for his laughter to die down enough again for him to finish he did not. Her father however took a deep breath and managed to squeeze out the words, "go brush your teeth." Before returning to an all consuming laughter. Jessica didn't find the situation funny but the color red their faces were turning was rather funny so she started laughing to. Purdy jump down and waited at his little table for his food. Jessica went upstairs to brush her teeth. When she got back down the laughing had finally stopped. There was food for her on the table and she sat down to eat when her dad looked over at her.

"What old man?," she asked in a challenging tone.

"Enjoy your second lunch," He said and started laughing again and set off the other two. Jessica looked down at Purdy who did his own little snicker in response to her look for support. She threw her hands up into the air and shook her head. She let them laugh and got some food in her belly hoping this meal would stay there.
