A Long Wait

Ah-Yeong woke up after a while. She touched her head which was throbbing and stood up. All the things came into her like a movie and she tightly closed her eyes to remove those thoughts.

She quickly rushed to her room and took out a pen and paper from inside her drawer. She knew that she had to act fast and not be slow. If she was to wait here for anymore longer, she knew that she was going to hurt Sang Hoon more than anything.

After witnessing everything today, Ah-Yeong realized that she had already been late. Thus, she didn't wanted to take any more time and play with his feelings.

And so, she wrote a letter and placed her ring on the paper.

"I'm sorry but this is where our marriage life ends, Jung Sang Hoon. Have a good life and stay well!" Those were the only words which she could say while pushing herself off from the chair. She quickly packed her things inside a bag and scurried out of her room. After walking out of her house, she turned around to have one glance and that was enough to make her chest feel heavy.

She opened the front seat of her car and placed her luggage inside it and quickly drove out of this area. Didn't know why... but she felt that this thing which she did was completely wrong.

After having a few drinks, Sang Hoon arrived back home. If he was to say something to Ah-Yeong, he had to be sober and not drunk. So, he had just drank a few glasses and returned home being all sober. There was some alcohol smell coming from him but that was fine.

He entered inside the house and into the living room. It was empty. Well, it was bound to be empty. He chuckled and wore his flip flops. Standing outside of Ah-Yeong's room, he kept his hand on the door knob debating whether to open or not.

"What is the use even if I open the door and see her? She would just be silent." He said to himself and dragged himself to his room while letting out big heavy sighs. Never in his life was he so worked up. Everything just used to go smooth. But this one thing called marriage or whatever it was, worked him up a lot.

And it was all because his wife had feelings for someone else. Had she not had those feelings for someone else, he would have had a normal married life where he would come home every day and hug her or eat food cooked by her or maybe sometimes cook for her and take her out on long wonderful trips.

If Ah-Yeong had not have feelings for someone else or if he had told her how he feels for her at the beginning of their marriage, then maybe things would not have come this far and he wouldn't have had to be like this.

Thinking of all the wrongs which he had also done, Sang Hoon grunted and laid down on the bed on his stomach.

"Ughh!!! I should have spoken up like today in the starting days." He hit his head on the bed and grabbed the pillow and placed it on top of himself.

Seems like it was going to take him some time to sleep.

The next morning, Jung Sang Hoon woke up and freshened himself. It was already quarter to eight and he thought that Ah-Yeong might have left. He walked to the kitchen and poured a glass of water to drink.

After drinking, he took a big yawn and stretched his body. Ahh! Yesterday's incident was just too much. Maybe he shouldn't have said that all. He prepared some light snacks, ate them and walked to his room.

Yesterday, after that talk in the kitchen, he just couldn't stop thinking of what he told to Ah-Yeong. So, he went out for some fresh air to distract his mind from thinking about yesterday.

On the way, he went to meet his parents nonchalantly to just see how they were doing. But his mother forced him to have lunch and by the time he was back home, it was already six in the evening.

He saw the house empty as usual. Even the things in the kitchen were left untouched. Sang Hoon checked the time in his watch and it was already thirty minutes past six.

"Is she not home yet?" He asked himself because usually Ah-Yeong used to be at home by five. Now seeing the house empty even after one and a half hour, he couldn't help but go to her room to call out for her.

Stopping in front of her door, Sang Hoon lifted his hand to knock on the door but another thought came in and he kept his hand down. With a sigh, he walked back to his room.

He opened his laptop and began doing his work... Although his hands were doing the work, his mind was only focusing on the clicking sound of the door as to when the door will open or when it closes back.

But unfortunately, he didn't hear any sound of that sort and he became really worried. He looked at the time and it was going to be nine. With a sigh, he rested his back on the chair, stretched his hands and stood up. He walked out of his room and stood nearby Ah-Yeong's door debating in his mind whether he should knock or not.

When he was able to make a positive decision, he knocked on the door and asked "Ah-Yeong? Are you there? I wanted to talk with you about what happened yesterday."

He waited for a few seconds in hope of a reply but he got none. When he got no reply from the inside, all his positive energy vanished and he became disappointed. He clearly wanted to explain his reason for doing so but since he got no response, he couldn't do anything.

With a disappointed look on his face, he walked back to his room and locked it.
