Do Status Even Matter in Love?

Soon after, James arrived with heavy breathings. Seeing James like this, Mirae quickly handed him the bottle of water which she had bought with her.

James took the water bottle in his hand and explained while opening its cap "Sorry... I... couldn't get a free space for... parking." He drank the water after taking a few deep breaths.

Ga-Eun who was standing across James, eyed both Mirae and James. She squinted her eyes as she noticed the matching outfits of the two.

"Oooo, ooo… looks like someone had been planning this from before, I guess!" She began to tease Mirae while eyeing at her with a suspicious look.

Mirae noticed the grey sweatshirt and black joggers which James had worn. An amused smile came over her lips but she hid it from her friends and pretended to act normal. "Maybe another coincidence, I suppose!" She said while shrugging her shoulders.

When James eyes fell on Mirae's outfit, he couldn't help but lower down his head to hide his blush. He had just picked grey and black since it had come on his mind... but he didn't know that Mirae would also be wearing the same color.

"It indeed is a coincidence." He said while scratching the back of his neck. "But a good one!" As Mirae and James both lowered their head while blushing, Ga-Eun and Soo-Ah giggled.

It was fun to tease these two.

More or less, it looked like a couple outfit, and they looked cute standing side by side to one another just like lovers from the comic books.

"Let's go in. The movie has already started."

Ga-Eun and Soo-Ah felt like third and fourth wheel in between these two and so, they quickly turned around and walked inside the movie theatre. While Mirae was following after them, James walked after her and whispered in her ear "Thanks for inviting me." With that, he rushed inside the theatre.

Meanwhile, Mirae was left frozen at the spot. She couldn't even think about what happened right now or what was even going on... Currently, what they were doing or how they were like... it all just felt as if they were in a relationship.

Just thinking about being in a relationship with James, Mirae felt butterflies in her stomach. She hid her flushed cheeks with her hands and walked inside the theatre. The theatre was already packed and she couldn't see any sign of any of her friends.

But there was one hand that was waving at her. When she looked at the person who was waving his hand at her, Mirae noticed James. Although it was dark, she could make it out from the highlights of his tall giant like body and a perfectly sculpted face.

Taking a deep breath, she walked towards him and sat next to him.

The seat which they were seated at, was at the third last row. From that high, they could see the heads of the people seated in the front rows. However, Mirae couldn't spot her friends but she knew that they were somewhere here.

And then taking another deep breath, Mirae took a glance at James only to turn her eyesight back on the screen. James too was looking at her and she couldn't handle the close proximity in between them.

Mirae blushed again and lowered her head.

The movie being played was her favorite movie but the man seated next to her was becoming her favorite and she was beginning to get shy around him.

"You should look up at the screen instead of looking down." James tittered when he saw Mirae looking down instead of looking up at the screen.

Giving a slight nod, Mirae looked up at the screen. It was her favorite movie, a movie where a college boy and girl fall in love only to get separated up due to their status... However, their love for each other was so strong that neither of them got married and waited for each other.

Watching this movie always made Mirae emotional. And whenever, she watched this movie, she wished that she would get a guy as truthful as the main actor of the movie. And she also wished that she would be as truthful as that girl to not forget about the man whom she loved and stay unmarried the rest of her life.

Sometimes, the status of a person stands as a wall in between some relationships. No matter how strong their relationship will be, the status is so stubborn that in the end, relationships break apart.

Sneakily, Mirae stole a glance at James. He was watching the movie. Judging by the casual yet expensive outfit, Mirae knew that they had a huge difference in between their status. Mirae belonged to a middle-class family and James, she could understand that he belonged to a well-class family, after all he was the owner of a big company.

A fear came in her heart and she began staring at James not realizing that he was also looking at her.

Mirae was afraid that if she was to fall in love with a rich guy like James, wouldn't her life be the same as that of the female lead from this movie? She knew that she was thinking way too far, there would be chances that there might not be something as status within James family or that they would not even fall in love with one another but...

But it was all just one question that made Mirae afraid.

This entire month; she talked with him, smiled crazily at his replies, shared many things with him and she knew that she was slowly, slowly falling for him... Or she could say that she was afraid of losing a man like him who made her comfortable, shy or smile suddenly for various things, most of the time.

At this time, Mirae felt hurt. She didn't know but it felt as if something was squeezing her heart... it hurt more than witnessing Yeonjun getting married right in front of her eyes to someone else.
