The Annoying Devil

As Da-Jung stepped behind shaking her head, Woo-Jin stood straight and straightened his tie. "Well, if you have that much money, you can leave whenever you like." He gave a smile and turned around to talk with Mr. Kang.

"I will stay!" Contemplating for a while, Da-Jung decided that it was better to complete the one-year agreement. She didn't understand as to why she was even afraid of something like this. 'Heck! As if he would bite me?'

And as Da-Jung began to turn around and walk away with a haughty look on her face, she was stopped by a stern yet much familiar voice. "I'm unlike Mr. Kang. He gave you time to pay the rent but I need my rent on time. Please pay the two months' rent before you go back to your room, Miss Byeon!"

Da-Jung rolled her eyes. She could sense the sarcasm in his voice. She knew that seeing her in this situation, he was feeling happy from the inside. She could just sense that happiness inside his eyes. Four years… she had spent four years. Da-Jung could understand what was happening inside Woo-Jin's mind because his face was saying it all.

"Look…"

Da-Jung was cut off by Woo-Jin "I don't take any excuses, Miss Byeon. Give me my money or else I know much good ways to teach someone their lesson."

Another sarcasm! Da-Jung just wanted to pull him by his hair and throw him out of his own house. She also knew what he meant when he said that he has his own ways of teaching someone their lesson.

Byeon Da-Jung couldn't afford to lose her job after coming this far. Heck! She went through a lot just to get a permanent position. Now that she was just one step away from it, Da-Jung really didn't wanted to ruin everything.

So many things were happening in her life. So many tragedies actually! And she needed a fixed position to get out of those tragedies, those bad happenings of her life.

"Just one day more!" As Da-Jung was thinking of a way to say something, she heard Woo-Jin speak. When she looked at him, she could no longer sense that sarcasm in his voice or sense that joyous feeling which was inside his mind.

She noticed his eyes, they were pitch black and held only rage within them.

"I will give you just one more day, Miss Byeon! Don't think I'm lenient or something. I'm doing this all because Mr. Kang requested me to do so." And as she heard him elaborate further, Da-Jung let out a smile. A big smile which showed her front teeth and reached her eyes. A thankful smile it was.

She bowed deeply to both Mr. Kang and Yang Woo-Jin. Although she didn't wanted to express her gratitude towards Woo-Jin, she just decided to do it so, that she could cope up with him for the remaining seven months.

She didn't understand as to why a top notch artist like Yang Woo-Jin would like to stay in an apartment filled with various people. Anyways, that wasn't Da-Jung's thing to worry about so, she quickly left back to her room after bowing for three to four times.

Now that Da-Jung received one day for her rent, she didn't know from where and how to get that rent. She could have asked Sina but she had already taken a lot of money from her. Just as Da-Jung was thinking, she received a call from an unknown number.

Thinking it as some wrong number, Da-Jung didn't pick up. In fact she was very much lost in deciding how to get the money. When the call came back, she ignored it again. But when it came for the third time, Da-Jung had already lost her temper from thinking about the money and this call was also irritating her. So, she snapped at once after picking up the call.

However, she didn't hear any confused or doubtful questions. All she heard was a familiar voice which ordered with a nonchalant, unbothered accent "Save my number! I will contact you with this, often."

And as this voice clicked her mind, Da-Jung took the person's name to confirm "Woo-Jin?"

"We are not so close for you to call me by my first name, Miss Byeon!"

Ahhh!!! Da-Jung just wanted to tear open his mouth. This guy was just the worst. If he was like this from the start then maybe Da-Jung would have given a thought before marrying him.

"Just making sure." Da-Jung replied and hung up. Soon after she hung up the call, she received a call from the same number again. With an irritated look on her face, Da-Jung picked up the call.

"Yes, Mr. Yang Woo-Jin… is there something else you would like to say?" Da-Jung asked through gritted teeth. However, she regretted asking this question. Because the moment she asked that, she heard his rough reply "I cannot give you a day. Just some hours. I want my rent within seven hours, Miss Byeon! I called to inform you this, that's all!"

"Seven hours? Hey!"

*BEEP**BEEP**BEEP*

Da-Jung heard the sound of disconnecting beeps and she let out a mouthful of cusses towards this rude man who was once her so-called husband.

She looked at the time in her phone and it was thirty minutes past nine. "If it is seven hours then that means, I must return the rent by thirty minutes past four? Are you serious?"

Da-Jung threw her phone on the pillow and gave a defeated look.

Life is just too hard!

And now there really was no choice but to ask money from Sina. She took her phone and messaged Sina. Her message was delivered but she had not received any reply. Da-Jung looked at the time in her phone again. It was forty minutes past nine. She had sent the message at something thirty three minutes past nine.

Usually Sina used to reply her within a few minutes. But it had already been seven minutes and she hadn't replied. The time kept on passing, Da-Jung kept on waiting and Sina kept on sleeping.

Sina was having the best sleep of her life with a sweet dream in her mind. However, there was one thing that was disturbing her again and again.

It was the constant noise of some beeping sound. Sina just wanted to ignore it because of the sweet dream she was having but that beeping sound was lingering even in her dream. And she opened her eyes. She looked at the time in her alarm clock and it was thirty minutes past three.

Sina took her phone and checked her notifications.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*….

Da-Jung was sleeping while hugging the pillow and she immediately woke up when she heard the messages notification coming from her phone. While waiting for Sina's reply, Da-Jung had fallen asleep. But this message notification ruined her sleep. Moreover, it was like a grim reaper's call.

"It is 4:45.. You haven't come. Are you planning to get your rent increased, Miss Byeon?"

"4:50?"

"I will wait for ten minutes more, Miss Byeon!"

"5:00 a.m. and you aren't still here?"

As Da-Jung read all his messages, she instantly sprung out of her bed. While she was typing to the devil, she received a text from Sina informing about the money she sent. Immediately Da-Jung deleted what she was typing and asked Woo-Jin for his account number. However, Woo-Jin asked her to come and Da-Jung came down in a hurry to his flat.
