Old Acquaintances

"Not assistance. I just wanted you to come and meet us. Woo-Jin's mother has been thinking about you very often so, I wanted you to come."

"But…"

Han Su interjected her and continued "I know you and Woo-Jin are divorced and I wished that it never happened because you were a very good daughter-in-law to us… my wife and I, we just want to meet you. So please can you come?"

Da-Jung was a reluctant to reply. She couldn't reject this old couple's invitation and she also couldn't go to visit her ex-husband's family because now he was very famous and rich and the news would spread everywhere like wildfire.

In this situation, how was she to decide?

If Woo-Jin was to know about it, then he would surely be angry over her decision and he would not even help her with the rumors…

But… she really couldn't decline these two. After she married Woo-Jin, Da-Jung considered Woo-Jin's parents as her own parents.

They accepted her and treated her very generously unlike those parents who never treat their daughter-in-law well!

"When should I come, father-in-law?" Da-Jung asked politely. "Is this Sunday, okay?" The quicker she met, it was good. There was a month left for the concert and maybe if she met them sooner, then there won't be much gossip and even if there was, the gossip will soon fade out with the upcoming concert.

"Yes, dear! Sunday is absolutely fine. I will prepare all your favourite dishes so, do come!"

With that, Da-Jung hung up the call and opened the calendar in her phone. Today was Thursday so, two days after was Sunday. She had practice tomorrow but after what happened today, Da-Jung didn't wanted to go.

She took out Jinha's number from her contacts and called him. After a few rings, Jinha picked up. He was still feeling bad for bringing Woo-Jin along. Maybe if he had known, he wouldn't have bought him. Rather, he would have asked him straightforwardly as to why he divorced Da-Jung…

"I won't be coming for practice tomorrow. Please inform 'him', Jinha."

Jinha already understood as to why she would not go for practice tomorrow and also the 'him' which Da-Jung was referring to. He agreed to her and hung up.

"Should we have stayed with her for tonight? She didn't seem that good." After hanging up, he asked Sina who was having a puffed up, furious face because of Jinha.

When the talk came about her friend, she looked at him and said "I think she would consider being alone rather than being with us."

Meanwhile, Da-Jung tossed and turned on her bed trying to sleep. When she couldn't sleep, she took her phone to call her mother. Looking at the time in her phone, she sighed.

It was almost midnight and she couldn't disturb her mother now. Her mother would have been very tired from the work and everything. So, she didn't call.

Instead she put on some relaxing music and closed her eyes.

As the music was played softly, Woo-Jin's image flashed in her mind and Da-Jung immediately sat upright on her bed after stopping the music.

"Why him now?" She frowned.

Finally, after some thirty or forty minutes of simply lying on the bed, Da-Jung was able to go to sleep. She looked like a sleeping beauty while she was asleep but her sleeping posture was not at all good.

Her long hair were all over her face while she slept with her arms and legs wide open as if the entire bed was just and just hers. It of course was hers but she slept in a very uncomfortable manner.

Friday and Saturday passed by very quickly. Da-Jung received calls from Woo-Jin on these two days but she didn't pick them up. She kept herself busy by staying in the hospital with her father and mother for these two days.

When Sunday came, Da-Jung took a bath and wore a floral printed lavender dress. It was a bell sleeve dress which went down till her ankles and was tight around the waist. The v-cut design of the dress made her neck look slimmer and her collarbones more evident.

She paired this dress with long dangling earrings and a spade shaped locket around her neck. And for her feet, she wore a white stripped wedge sandal.

Tying her hair in a loose braid, she left some locks of her hair over her face and curled them with her fingers to give a bouncy look. Applying a nude lipstick, she hung up a white bag over her shoulder and walked out of her house.

When Da-Jung came down through the elevator, she saw someone whom she didn't wanted to see in the corridor. It had been two days but maybe anger was still hidden inside her because as soon as her eyes landed on Woo-Jin, she became angry. Even with that mask and cap on his face, she could make out that the person standing in front of her was Yang Woo-Jin.

Woo-Jin had just came out of his house after locking the door behind him. He had worn a mask and a cap to hide his face. As soon as his eyes fell on a woman who was fuming with anger… the space between his brows furrowed.

He pulled his mask below the chin and flashed a bright smile "Are you going somewhere, Miss Byeon?" Considering how she was dressed in a pretty manner, he couldn't help but inquire about it.

She looked so pretty and his heart started to beat faster with just upon looking at her.

Da-Jung was taken aback by his smile but she didn't even once show that she was surprised to see his smile. She just gave a slight nod and walked past him.

"If you don't mind, I can drop you, Miss Byeon." Heck! Since when was he so formal to people whom he knew? But ever since he met Da-Jung after four damn years, Woo-Jin couldn't take her name. He could only call her Miss Byeon and today it felt awkward, really awkward!

Da-Jung turned around and looked at Woo-Jin who was looking back at her. "I do mind Mr. Yang dropping me. I don't want to involve myself in unnecessary rumours, Mr. Yang! So, please go ahead." She let out a smile and walked away after giving a cold reply.

Woo-Jin had expected that Da-Jung would gladly agree and that he would take her to where she wanted to go and also try to find out why she was ignoring him but he was disappointed by her cold answer.
