Everything Calmed Down

"Da-Jung! Are you alright? What happened to you?" Woo-Jin entered through her door and held her in her arms. He was actually calling her from so long but the call wasn't received. So, he was worried and came to her floor only to see two men coming out of her room laughing and talking about the recording they took.

He asked them for the recording and in turn gave them blank checks to keep their mouth shut. The two men took the money and left.

Then, he came to her room only to see her cry and call out his name for making her life worse.

However, when Woo-Jin reached there, he had expected for Da-Jung to hit him but he was surprised when she hugged him and said "Even now, my mom says that I should not involve myself with you… why does she say that? My heart hurts a lot, Woo-Jin Oppa!"

Before he could respond to her, he felt Da-Jung's weight on his shoulder. Woo-Jin pushed Da-Jung to an arm's length and noticed that she was asleep. He slowly carried her in his arms and placed her on the bed.

This time, he felt like crossing a boundary. He did feel that all the time but this time, upon noticing that she was hurt to this extent, Woo-Jin wanted to cross the boundary he had created to comfort her.

He laid down beside her such that his face was watching her sleep.

With trembling hands, Woo-Jin reached her nose to touch her but retracted his hand behind. He couldn't touch her nor take advantage of her sleeping soundly.

He took the tissue which was nearby and wiped the water droplets which were near her eyes.

"Kabuch kubuch kabuchi!" Da-Jung mumbled some jumbled, meaningless words and Woo-Jin chuckled upon noticing her. She was still the same.

Whenever Da-Jung felt at ease, she would mumble some meaningless words in her sleep and sleep more comfortably. Every now and then, Woo-Jin used to hear it and laugh.

Today also, he laughed. And he was glad that he was able to witness it somehow. Four years and he missed this all.

"If I say… I want you back, will you come back into my life?"

"No! Let me rephrase that! I want you in my life, Da-Jung. Will you marry me again?"

Woo-Jin gave a dissatisfied smile as he came to a realization that even if he was to ask her or somehow Da-Jung got to know about his feelings for her, she would still decline considering how much she hates him and also for being the cause of her misery.

"Nevertheless, I will keep these moments within me forever and give you what you deserve, my dear Da-Jung!"

With that, he got down of the bed, kissed her forehead and went back to his room after locking the door behind him.

The next morning, Da-Jung woke up feeling really refreshed. She didn't know if it was because she cried to her heart's content or there was someone who was speaking to her and their voice was just like a lullaby.

But Da-Jung declined to the latter one because she didn't remember anyone coming to her home after those two men came and left.

By now, Da-Jung thought that she would have again gone viral because of the two men who took her video. But when she opened the social media, there was nothing as such.

In fact, everything had just calmed down and there were people who were supporting her.

"She was stuck in an elevator so, our CEO Yang Woo Jin helped her. How can reporters not have any work to do besides these dating matters?"

"I have talked with her for a few times. She is not someone who fancies the CEO, in fact… she even maintains her distance with him. I guess, she is Lesbian."

"I have been her friend since high school and I know that the CEO and her are not dating."

Da-Jung laughed at the comments left up on the post and she somehow felt that these comments were from her friends.

"Thank you guys!" She wrote a text message to the two in the group chat and soon after messages after messages flooded in the group chat.

"Glad you replied!"

"The lesbian one was Jinha's idea, not mine!"

"It makes the comment look more real, honey!"

"Tsk! Not here too! Go to your room, Sina and Jinha!"

Da-Jung chuckled as she replied back to her friends. After saying them bye, she opened Woo-Jin's contact to message him however, she was surprised to see two messages from him.

"I hope you are good!"

"I want to take you somewhere today so, please wait near my doorstep by 8 at night-time."

Seeing these two messages didn't know why but it somehow created butterflies in her stomach. Da-Jung felt the fluttering of the butterflies inside and she smiled. Soon, she shook her head knowing what she was doing and texted him.

"Sorry! I have to be somewhere."

She sent the message and read it.

"It feels like I was rude, right?" She kept on reading the message again and again thinking that it felt rude. Like she messaged without any greeting or saying that she was fine.

"Well, it's not like I will be acquainted with him. Once the concert is over, we will go back to our separate ways."

Da-Jung shrugged her shoulder and replied another message.

"I will help you till the concert is held. After that, we can go our separate ways!"

Although Da-Jung's words were a little less than rude, Woo-Jin was broken hearted to know that Da-Jung really just wanted to get over with the concert quickly.

Actually, the place he was taking her to; was the café they had met for the first time. He had booked it entirely for himself so that it would be just the two of them. But since, Da-Jung declined… he didn't do anything about it.

He still remembered that cute expression of Da-Jung when she tugged him by his sleeve and asked him if they could go on a date together. At that time, Woo-Jin was very surprised that a rich girl like her wanted to date a poor boy like him.

However, when she cutely said that it was her first time going on a date, Woo-Jin couldn't decline.

At that time itself maybe… he should have realized that he was falling in love with her. But for a long time, he kept on saying that he only loved her money when he considered her more special than money.

Woo-Jin smiled as he thought of that fortunate or unfortunate day. Maybe if his senior wouldn't have sent him, they never would have met in the first place or maybe Da-Jung wouldn't have had to go through a tragedy.

After seeing her cry and ask as to why her life became worse after she met him, Woo-Jin just felt helpless. It was just over and here, he was reminiscing their old days and their old moments.
