Chapter 9 – Meet Bill Monroe

Arthur changed into another identity. He is going to be a temporary PE teacher in Empire State High School. This time he wanted to try saving Uncle Ben. Decades of experimentation with tesseract have brought him lots of surprises but it's a pity that it can't help him with what he really wants. Arthur wants to gather the other stones and experiment on them.

Arthur became Bill Monroe, temporary PE teacher. Aside from his experiment to rescue Uncle Ben, he wanted to see if spider sense can detect him when he casts any spells. His potential as a human was unlocked when he awakened. Giving him increased strength and an increase of lifespan to a thousand years. But the spells at apprentice level are cute and helpful at most. He would look like a monster to a normal human but to those with powers, there is a chance for him to die. Though he is confident that he can face off against the most powerful that MCU can offer if he is inside his wizard tower.

That is why he wanted to explore the effect of his spells to powerful individuals. Maybe he can discover something and increase his fighting chance against super powered individuals. Not that he plans to fight any of them but he wants to be sure that he can bluff his way out if ever they started to pay attention to him.

His first target is the little spider. He would be considerably weak the first month after he was bitten. Arthur wanted to play with the friendly neighborhood spiderman for a bit.

Teleport, illusion, fire spells, poison, telekinesis, pain, dazed, heal, freeze, grow, accelerate growth, plow, fertilizer, track, shield, scan, radar, locate, tag, x-ray, light, puppet, judge, invisibility and many more spells at the beginner level have been used by Arthur over the years.

Aside from fire spells, poison, telekinesis and pain he does not have any offensive spells. Fire spells can be replaced by rpgs, poison can be bought anywhere or created or harvested, machines and manpower can replace telekinesis, as for pain, well there are many people knowledgeable on torture. Now that he thought about facing super powered individuals, he does not have much firepower to contend with them or go toe to toe with them

Bill didn't really teach the class. He would just cast an illusion spell to every student so that they would perform the dance, sports and exercises stated in the curriculum. Let their body learn how to do it. As for peter parker, harry Osborn and a few intellectuals he didn't put an illusion spell on them. He used the spell that he got from Milly. The mimic spell. With it he can copy the movements of each student and showed their mistakes. Through the spell he was able to copy even the mannerisms and tells of the students.

Harry and Peter bonded over PE as they devise ways to defeat the PE teacher. They can only beat him in chess and go but for sports they were overwhelmed. Bill would even copy Peters speech pattern and movement to ridicule Harry and copy Harry to ridicule Peter.

At one time they were able to defeat Bill in dancing. They were happy until Bill copied their movements. The weeks passed by and Bill's time as a temporary teacher ended. He said that he will be opening a small coffee shop near the school and they are welcome to visit anytime.

A few days later Peter Parker along with Harry Osborn and a few other students went on a trip. This is where Peter Parker will be bitten by a radioactive spider. He wanted to see if he can preserve the life of the spider and help it evolve. Maybe he can become a stronger version of spiderman.

Bill moved to an adjacent building and used the spell dazed to an employee. Then he sent a mental suggestion to order coffee. This will be Bill's excuse to enter the same building. He will just have to use the scan spell to find the spider, then cast the invisibility spell on it as well as telekinesis to capture it.

The whole event finished quickly and Bill went back to his coffee shop with a radioactive spider. He would have to turn one room into a small forest where the spider can live peacefully. Of course, sealing arrays, illusion arrays and defensive arrays will have to be put up to hide the spider as well as make sure that its wont escape. He will have to study it slowly over time. If he can breed it then that would be better.

Natasha have been sent on missions abroad this entire time to avoid Chris. She used the storage bracelet all the time. The great thing about the storage bracelet is that even if it is removed from her, as long as she is within 100-meter distance from it, she can summon things from the storage space and make it appear in her hand.

As for Bill, he was busy shadowing Spiderman. He tested spiderman multiple times and discovered a few things. For example, when he used invisibility spell, spiderman cannot find him. If he pointed a gun while being invisible, then spider sense would kick in and inform spiderman of the existing threat. Any spell directed to spiderman would be detected.

Having observed spiderman for a while, he is now sure that spiderman can defeat him if they fight. Spiderman's sense and reflexes are enough to make avoid his spells. The only spell he thinks that has a 100% chance of hitting spiderman is an aoe fire spell. Although he has yet to try it. Maybe it is just wishful thinking on his part.

Bill's Identity would be a magician with focus on healing, teleportation and illusion. He wants to be discovered by shield and join them but he wants to avoid the scenes in the movie if possible. As a healer he can avoid the frontlines and hopefully become a perfect background character.

While he was observing spiderman, he was him storm out of the house. Minutes later, Uncle Ben followed suit. This could be the turning point in Peter Parker's life where Uncle Ben gets shot. If Uncle Ben survived, could it change Spiderman's dedication to fighting crime.

Bill followed Uncle Ben and saw him get shot. He watched from the sidelines as Peter cradles his dying uncle. Then Bill would put on a ski-mask and placed his glowing hands and heals Uncle Ben. He did not fully heal Uncle Ben so that Peter would be occupied with getting his uncle to the hospital.

The next morning, there are no reports of a man using healing magic. No post on social media on what happened either. It is clear that shield is on the job and blocked everything. Bill wondered when would they contact him. Maybe he needs to use his healing spells more.

Arthur has decided that Bill's identity would have three spells only. First is the healing spell. Next is the weak illusion spell and the last is the newly mastered air bullet.

Spider-man tried to catch all criminals whose description matches the one who shot Uncle Ben. While Spider-man would catch criminals, Bill would move around the neighborhood and use illusion magic or air bullet to knock out people before healing them. He would spend two to three hours every night doing this. Bill tried to avoid cctv cameras without using spells.
