New Kid In The Base: Chapter 3

"So what do we call him?" Tatiana looks at the boy, the boy keeps his head down as a woman aged 35 walks into the med room looking at everyone noticing the boy and Akai symbol. "Why is an Akai in the Base?" She looks around. Damien raises his hand "You don't get to speak idiot" "Idiot" the boy says jumping down from the light walking towards the woman looking at her up and down. "Explain Kayne". "We were on our patrol and found him barely alive. I figured we would bring him in to help us take down the Akai... He was poisoned by them. Nora looks at the boy. "Relax boy she is friendly". "Dangerous scent.." he sniffs her and backs up sitting on bed. "What's he saying?" The woman asks, looking at Nora. "He senses a dangerous scent on you, could be that you're tense." "How would you know that?" "You forget who I am Gianna. You may be captain but don't talk to me like you're above me." Damien looks at the both of them with a face that says "Oh shit", Tatiana has the same face on as the boy sneaks out of the room. Tatiana looks around for the boy "Fuck he's good." "He's an Akai, of course he's profoundly skilled." Gianna says. She looks at Tatiana, "Find your boy, keep him leashed if you have to." "He's not an animal" she walks off after the boy. The boy looks around at everything. "Hmm...", Tatiana pats his shoulders, the boy turns and jumps on to a Jeep looking down at her. "Tat", "Can't sneak off like that kid" "Tat" he says pointing to her, "We gotta teach you some English... Nora can help with that" "Oh I will but you gotta help, he seems to like you, you are the one that helped save him. I'm sure he'll appreciate it. Plus you've always wanted a" she is cut off by Tatiana as Damien walks by. "Oh I know about her mom's instincts from time to time. She'll boss me around and I'm older ``''Not by that much" She says looking up at the boy who jumps down in front of Damien "Idiot" Damien frowns at Tatiana who snorts into a laugh. "Kid my name isn't Idiot, it's Damien". "Idiot Damien". "He's a smart boy, he's not hesitating anymore", Nora looks down at the boy. "Do you have anywhere to go?" The boy shakes his head "Not anymore. I cannot return to Akai village." "Well you're welcome to stay here" "I thank you but... too dangerous" "You won't have to worry about anyone here hurting you", the boy shakes his head. "I mean for everyone else... Can't control it." "Well from what you told me, flowers affect you and cause it so you don't have to worry about any of that here. Tatiana and I will look out for you, but you'll have to learn the language in order for them to understand you, I can't always translate now can I?" She chuckles patting his back. The boy nods and smiles a bit "Thank you". Tatiana and Nora take the boy to a small building. "Since you found him, he stays with you" Nora looks at Tatiana. "I'll be here once my shift is over and help you with his English lessons." "Ok by that time I won't have anything to do unless Cap assigns me anything." "Hopefully not if you want this boy's assistance in taking down the Akai. If there are anymore." "What happened to them?" Nora looks at the boy who is examining the area curiously. "I think it's best he explains when he's able to do so". Tatiana nods and looks down at the boy. Well for now he can get his rest I'm sure he'll need, then we can introduce him to the squad, eat and study. Does that sound good?. Nora looks at the boy and explains the plan, the boy nods walking further into the building, sniffing around and finding Tatiana's room laying on her bed. Tatiana looks and chuckles "That's my bed bud". The boy closes his eyes, falling asleep. Tatiana shrugs and leaves her room, closing the door slowly. Damien walks over "How's the kid?" "He's good, he's gonna get his rest, we'll introduce him to the squad and we'll eat, then Nora and I are gonna help him learn English. "Good plan, if you need me I'm here." "Oh? Since when do you wanna help?" "I know what doing this means to you so, yeah I'll help out." She smiles and punches his arm then hugs him. "If you're going to help, he's gonna need to learn how to defend himself. You're best with our weapons so, teach him that, maybe he'll teach you some hand to hand combat if you ask nicely." "We'll see". He pats her shoulder and leaves.
