Lenford POV - To Share The Pain

Despite seeming excited to see me earlier, ever since getting into the elevator his mood seemed to have worsen. I glanced at Doyle for a long while, staring at him as he seemed lost in thoughts.

And despite the closeness we shared physically, I felt like we've begun drifting apart emotionally. It also felt like I hadn't seen him in a long while despite living in the same house during this duration of time.

It is my fault... I've been so busy at work that I forgot about the person closest to me... Even when he was swamped with work, I remember how often he checked up on me.

That was even before we started dating. I thought it was odd that my supervisor kept checking up on everyone... Turns out, I was the only one receiving that detailed amount of attention...

"Doyle...?" I asked as I glanced towards him.

He... Didn't hear me?
