Abigail Ye

Abigail stood up and went to cling on her poor friend who looked like she was enchanted by the wicked-looking man. "Hold up right there."

Violet blinked and turned to her in confusion, "Yes?"

"You're not available tonight," Abigail said as an excuse.

"I'm not?"

"Yes, you're not. I almost forgot the real reason I'm here. I want to show you something." She quickly took her phone out and opened her Weibo and pointed at one of the top topics: 'Wedding failed: Actress Kiira Lin, pregnant?!"

Violet's eyes went wide upon reading the headline. She quickly turned to Lucas and apologized, "Um, I'm sorry but can we schedule this some other time?"

He blinked a few times in confusion. He looked at Abigail who was looking smugly at him after lowering her phone.

She truly didn't like him huh? He chuckled inwardly as he thought that it looked like he won't be able to steal Violet for the night. "Alright. I guess I'll take my leave now." He scratched his nape a bit.

"I'm really sorry," Violet said apologetically again. "I'll make it up to you."

"Yes, you should make it up to me on our next date." He patted her head.

"Sure, sure. Just message me about it." She said as she grabbed him and impatiently dragged him towards the door. "I'll make it up to you! Promise!" She went and opened the door for him.

Meanwhile, Abigail waved with a satisfied smirk plastered on her lips. "See you."

"Take care on your way back! Good night!" With that, Violet closed the door on him.

"..." Lucas was speechless as he stood there, facing the now closed door.

...

"She's doomed. Look at the comment section." Abigail said while scrolling through the article.

Just as planned, Abigail did her job in helping Violet with her revenge against Jason and Kiira. All she had to do was hire a reporter, give him the photo that was sent to Violet during her wedding day. All Abigail did was to start a fire and allow the wind to make it big.

Vicious comments were pointed at Kiira since it was written in the article that she was actually the third party and was the reason why CEO Jason Guan's bride left him standing on their wedding day.

It was all according to Violet's plan and she was satisfied with the results. She turned to look at her best friend as she gave the phone back to her. "Are you satisfied now?"

"No! I want to further crash that bitch and that bastard!" Abigail growled.

"I think this should be enough punishment for them." She replied calmly.

"You're being too kind, Vio," sighed Abigail. "If I were you, I'll make sure Kiira's career is done for while dirtying Jason's name so that his company can go bankrupt!"

"But I'm me and I'm satisfied with this result. Also, if I continue on with the revenge, it'll only make me look like a pathetic woman who's still into that guy. I'm trying to move on, Abby." Violet replied with as much dignity she could muster.

"So that Lucas guy is your way of moving on?" The woman beside her asked, crossing her arms. "How did you even meet him? Also judging by his looks, he's not your type. Aside from that, you're dating him already after how many days? Do you even know him well?"

Abigail was always such a straight-forward woman who was not afraid of speaking her mind to others. She was Violet's classmate since college through a study group.

Unlike her, Abigail was cheerful and bright, everyone loved and admired her, and yet, she remained single throughout the years. Just because she was single didn't mean she was a virgin tho. She had her few one-night stands with some men during their college days.

To put it simply, Abigail was the extrovert who was kind enough to adopt an introvert like Violet.

"Abby..."

"Don't Abby-Abby me! It has just been weeks since you got your heart broken, I don't think you'll be able to fall in love with someone that fast- oh wait! Are you using him as a rebound? Seriously? I don't think you're that type of person!" She bombarded her with endless questions. "I'm not the Elsa to your Anna, Violet Song."

Hearing her full name only meant that her best friend was really mad. Violet sighed, "The truth is..." She didn't have a choice but to tell her about Raven and how she ended up coming to a decision of marrying Lucas.

"VIOLET FREAKING SONG, ARE YOU AN IDIOT?!" Abigail yelled after hearing her. "What kind of lame excuse is that?!"

"My grandpa is getting old and I want to-"

"So what?!" She even threw her hands on the air. "You're going to throw away your life just like that?! You're so stupid for believing that bastard Raven's words! Do you think your grandpa will like this if he found out about this?"

"But... the contract has already been processed and... I have already decided on doing this..." She replied so meekly, like a child trying to explain to their mother that they broke the vase by accident.

"You are not a child anymore to be deceived this easily by someone even if that man happened to be THE Raven Xie! Is he really handsome? Rumor says that he has a godly face! Seeing a photo or getting a glimpse of him is already hard so seeing his face in person is such a blessing! You better schedule a dinner for both of us so that I can also give him a good scolding!"

Violet: "..."

Wait a minute... How did it turn out this way again? How the hell did Abigail manage to smoothly transition the conversation from scolding her to set up a date with Raven?
