Eye-opener

Next day...

As Violet entered the campus, the first thing she did was to look out for Lucas. She was still bothered by the kiss and she didn't know how to face him. That day, she was certain about avoiding him.

She peeked from the corner of the hallway, making sure that he was not in sight.

Just then, she felt a tap on her shoulder which startled her. She faced the person in an instant, "W-wha..." She sighed in relief when she saw that it was not the person she was trying to evade. She heaved out a sigh in relief, "It's just you."

Abigail raised a brow, "What do you mean it's just me?"

It was not like she was never going to tell her friend about what happened but standing in the middle of the hallway where she could be easily seen made Violet anxious.

"Is it Luke?" It was easy for Abigail to tell what her friend was thinking. She was like an open book, her expressions and thoughts were seen on her face!

Even if Violet didn't answer her, she knew she was correct when she saw how she flinched.

"Okay, what is it? What has he done to you last night?" Ever since her friend broke up with her fiance, she has begun doing reckless things like asking a man to marry her. She wouldn't be surprised anymore if Violet suddenly said that she gave her virginity last night. Even she has to admit that Lucas was indeed so attractive that she wouldn't mind bedding him if he was not her best friend's man.

"Can we just talk at the clinic?" Violet didn't want any students accidentally hearing what she was about to say. She didn't want to have new rumors circling the school. Even if she was not a teacher, she was still a school nurse.

She dragged Abigail to the clinic and made sure to lock it just in case someone would suddenly enter.

"Now then, tell me what happened?" Her best friend asked with an inquiring gaze.

"We... um..." Violet was hesitant but because of the weight of the other's woman's gaze, she finally blurted out, "We kissed!"

Abigail's face remained neutral, in fact, it looked more like she was disappointed upon finally hearing her words.

"Uh... What's with that look?" She couldn't understand her friend at all. Shouldn't be shocked after her revelation?

"This expression will change if you tell me right now that you kissed him in his dick."

"..."

"If that's a no then I'm not surprised at all. You're making a big deal out of a simple kiss."

Was she really making a big deal out of it?

"How did he kissed you?" Abigail suddenly asked after she took a seat on the swivel chair.

"It was a peck..." She trailed off.

"Just a peck?"

Uh... Why was she looking so disappointed? Wasn't she against them last night?

"If I was you, I would have gotten him naked already but I'm not. I know that you are a very conservative person, Vio but you're an adult. If your relationship with him is just contractual, then even if you have to step up the game with him, it wouldn't mean anything, right? So why are you being so flustered with just a peck?"

Violet lowered her head upon hearing the straightforward and yet harsh words coming from her best friend. Even if she didn't want to admit it, she was overreacting just because of a simple peck. It was not that kiss was because of 'love'. They didn't have feelings for each other. Her relationship with Lucas was just because of their agreement. "You have made a decision. Even if you did more than a kiss, you shouldn't be surprised, Vio. I know how innocent you are but if you are serious about marrying him because of the contract then you should prepare yourself for more of those."

Innocent... Yes, she was innocent of such things. Hearing Abby say those things without holding back was an eye-opener for a sheep like Violet.

"Men are the same. Even if he agreed with you, he's still a man. He has his needs and he will definitely make a move, maybe a move bolder than just a peck. So don't be surprised. I am worried, you know. I hope you won't lose a part of yourself with the decision you made."

Their conversation was cut short when they heard the school's bell chimed.

Abigail stood up and went to pat her friend's shoulders before she left the room.
