Rapist's face

Violet was left alone in the clinic after Abigail left. The silence in the room made her think about her words. When she thought about the conversation she shared with Lucas, she has honestly begun to like him a little bit but was that the case for the other person? What if he was just taking advantage of the situation?

She unconsciously touched her lips with her finger. Even if it was just a second, she could remember the warmth of his lips which once again, her heart began to race when it shouldn't.

"No, Violet. You're crazy. You can't go liking him." Yes, she has to stop whatever's growing in her chest before it was too late. Whatever she had with him was just because of the contract they agreed on. She would only be hurting herself if she ended up falling for him. The last time she loved someone, she was betrayed. She almost married into her doom. But as she thought about controlling her feelings for Lucas, Raven's words entered her mind.

"I just ended up falling for my wife two years ago."

For some reason, hope began growing in her.

"This is so wrong..." She sighed exasperation. She was frustrated at how easily her feelings were moved.

"What is so wrong?"

The sudden deep, familiar voice made her snap out of her thoughts, making her turn towards the person who was standing by the doorpost.

"L-Luke! W-why are you here?" Her heart pounded like crazy the moment she saw him. The handsome smile on his lips only made matters worse for her. She felt so attracted to the man before her. It was as if he was a magnet that kept pulling her towards him.

"Am I not allowed to be here?" He crossed his arms and smiled in amusement when he saw how flustered she was.

"N-no..." She paused and cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. "What I mean is... shouldn't you be teaching right now?"

"Yes."

"Then?"

"I gave my students half an hour to study and prepare for a long quiz."

Eh?

"But it's partly because I wanted to see you." With a toothy grin, he charmed his way into her heart again.

The blush spread on Violet's face like wildfire as her heart leaped upon hearing his words.

"T-that..."

"I didn't see you at the office earlier so I decided to come here." He continued. He shut the door behind him before he took a step towards her, making her unconsciously take a step backward.

It wasn't like she felt uncomfortable with his presence, it was just... she was trying to save her heart from his attacks.

Lucas stopped in the middle and blinked at a few times in confusion as he asked, "Why do you look so nervous? It's not like I'm not going to eat you."

"Your rapist's face is not helping so how can I not be nervous?" She retorted as an excuse.

"..." He let out a long gasp. "I'm hurt!" He placed a hand on his chest and acted like he was been wronged. "Violet Song, you are so rude!"

"I am just being honest!" But she ended up feeling guilty instead.

"I'm truly shocked right now. I am a pretty decent person so how can accuse my face like that? How can you consider this handsome face of mine a 'rapist's face'?" He crossed his arms and raised a brow.

"That's..." She paused and ended up staring at him for a short moment to which the man ended up staring back at her.

It was amusing how innocent she looked with the way she gazed at him. For some reason, he felt like a bunny was studying him. "Have you found the word 'rapist' on my face?"

"You're giving such vibes tho... Also, that's how the novels described their rapist male leads..." She averted her eyes just to avoid his gaze. If she stared longer at him, she was afraid that she might end up being captivated by his eyes again.

"..." Rapist male leads?

"I think you're reading too much into those kinds of novels. Besides, how can you consider a rapist a male lead? That's not romantic at all. Women in the novels who still ended up falling for such men develop Stockholm syndrome. To have a positive bond after such an act of force just because of 'love', I don't think that's right. Even if it's 'love' they shouldn't use force."

Violet ended up looking back at him as she listened to his opinions. It was not like he was wrong but what caught her attention was why he was so into the topic instead. The atmosphere in the room was also heavy.

"Their minds are manipulated into forgiving- ah wait, wait, why am I even talking about this?" He shook his head in disbelief. "Either way, since you think of me as a male lead, then you must think that I have a heaven-defying beauty which makes every woman, even men turn their heads huh?"

The sudden change in the atmosphere; the heaviness disappeared just because of the smirk that grew on Lucas' lips made her gulp. Her face once again became red.

"T-that's..."

"That's true. I have a panty-dropping face."

"..." This man...

"My face is one in a million. It's the reason why you proposed to me, right? This face-"

"W-wait, wait, wait," she interrupted, waving her hands in front of her. "Correction! It's because of Raven!" She quickly denied.

Lucas ignored what she said and instead, he reached out to hold her hand, bringing it to his lips,, "And if you consider me as a male lead then I'll gladly take that role, future wife."
