We are not done

With her hand brought to his lips and with the way his eyes stared back at her, Violet felt like she was about to have a heart attack. How can he look so handsome and sexy while looking at her that way? It was so unfair!

She wanted to escape before she would be drawn more into him but with the way his eyes looked at her, she felt like he was staring into her soul. She couldn't look away. She was mesmerized by the cat-like eyes of his. She wanted to look away but at the same time, she couldn't.

The two ended up staring into each other for a few seconds until Lucas made a move by leaning forward.

Just as he was about to touch her lips, Violet suddenly remembered the words her best friend said earlier.

"Men are the same. Even if he agreed with you, he's still a man. He has his needs and he will definitely make a move, maybe a move bolder than just a peck."

She quickly placed her hand in between the space that was about to be taken in by Lucas. His lips ended io landing on her palm as she did which made him blink a few times.

"I-I'm sorry..." She stuttered, looking away. Violet was still not ready to take the next move. She was not like Abigail. Even if she was an adult, even if she knew that in the future she would have to do more with the man in front of her, she was not ready.

Lucas pulled away and straightened his back as he looked down at her level. He could clearly see that she was currently conflicted about something. "No, I should be apologizing. I think I have overstepped the boundaries you have set for me."

Violet wanted to say something but if she did, she was afraid that it would only make things more complicated. She felt a strange feeling welling up in her chest. It was a feeling she was unfamiliar with.

Was she afraid? Yes... She was scared that if she continued to fall for him it might not end up well. She might expect too much from him and end being hurt. She was anxious that to see how their blooming relationship might end up a failure for her again.

She was snapped out of her thoughts when she suddenly felt a pat on her head. She looked at him and saw him smile, "Don't feel bad about it. It's alright if we take our time."

"You were the one who wanted to kiss me..." She pouted, blushing lightly.

"I can't help it."

"So if you can't help it, are you saying that you'll kiss anyone?" She raised a brow and crossed her arms as she looked at him in disbelief.

"Of course not, I'm not that type of guy." He quickly denied.

"But with the way you're acting right now, that's pretty hard to believe." She retorted.

"I don't get easily attracted to anyone you know."

"So are you saying that you are attracted to me?"

"Of course, only a blind man won't be attracted to you!"

His reply made Violet's mouth shut as she looked at him in surprise. A blush crept up on her cheeks and once again, her emotions were sent in chaos.

Lucas opened his mouth and was about to say something but he was interrupted when a beeping noise was heard. They both turned towards the location where it came from Lucas's wristwatch.

"L-looks like it's time for you to go back to your class..."

"Tch," he looked so displeased when he turned off his alarm clock. It was as if he regretted turning on his alarm earlier.

"We are not done. I will come back later." He turned away and began stomping his feet out of the clinic.

It suddenly made Violet wonder what he was about to say earlier but she didn't want to expect anything. Hearing him tell her that he was attracted to her was something that already made her hopes up even if it was just a little bit.

"Violet, don't think too much about it..." How was that even possible, she was not that desirable and she was sure there were other women better than her.

He said that he was not easily attracted to others... then how can he end up being fascinated by her?

She would be lying if she told herself that she was not attracted to him but unlike her, Lucas was full of charisma. Even if he was a bit narcissistic, he was right about how handsome he was. Any women would definitely love to stare at his handsomeness. They would definitely want to have him as their boyfriend. She couldn't help but think that the reason she was only able to get lucky was because of Raven. Those men were friends. With her uncle backing her up, it was only normal for Lucas to not mess up, right?
