The first thing I notice is the air feels lighter and the sun here is brighter. Next thing I noticed was that my clothes had been burned off and I am now standing in an abandoned building completely naked.
"Well if I had a nickle for every time a naked man has appeared out of thin air in front of me I'd have only one nickle," A female voice says from behind me. She grabs my hand and puts her foot on my back before slamming my face into the ground.
"Who are you and what the hell are you?" The female barks at me. I turn my head and look out of the corner of my eye to see her. She wears skin tight black pants and what appears to be body armor on her torso. Also, her black hair is pulled back into a braided ponytail.
"My name is Lux, I'm a superhero," I groan as she pulls on my arm.
"What just happened may convince me but Superheroes don't exist. What's your real name?" She pushes her boot further into my back and I can hear something pop.
"Jeremiah Simons," I say through gritted teeth. The first rule of being a superhero is never to give your real name, but I couldn't stop myself from saying it. She hesitates for a moment before taking her foot off my back and letting my hand go.
"You picked a bad time to do a magic trick dude," The woman reaches to her side and pulls out a pistol. During superhero training we learned how to stay calm when seeing a weapon, but I feel my breathing quicken with panic.
" I'm gonna need you to stay quiet," She points the gun towards me. I nod my head in agreement, it's too risky to disagree.
"Why, what's going on?" I ask while covering my nether regions with my hands.
The door to the room suddenly bursts open with a loud bang and a man enters the room with a gun. I first look at him then at the woman, who's face tells me he is not a good person. The man quickly opens fire on her. Without hesitation, I jump towards him and activate my light powers, blinding him temporarily. I then grab the hand with the gun in it and lift the guy over my head before slamming him into the ground. His gun then falls into my hand and I point it towards him.
"Who are you and what are your powers?" I ask him sternly.
"Why the hell are you naked?" The guy covers his eyes with his hands. I look down at my pale body and remark to myself that I need to get some clothes.
"Who sent you?" The black haired woman points her gun at him too. I look and see that she has been shot in the shoulder, however; she doesn't seem to be bothered by it.
"Who do you think," He chuckles menacingly. The grin he gives makes my stomach feel uncomfortable.
"You stepped into the wrong puddle and disturbed the waters," I see the man start to move his hand down to a holster that is on his hip.
"Don't even think about it man," I shake my gun slightly to remind him that I have it. Without warning, the woman fires her gun and kills the man right in front of my eyes.
"What the hell woman!" I scream at her. For the first time I watched someone being murdered. Training touched on it but it could never have prepared me for it. Vomit rises from my stomach and into my mouth as I survey the huge amounts of blood pouring from his head.
"He was going to kill us," She puts her gun back into her own holster and walks over to the man's corpse. My hand begins to shake as I reflect on what I was taught, the standards by which a hero should live. Then, I raise my gun and point it at her.
"What are you doing dude?" She raises her hands in a surrender.
"Where I'm from, anyone who murders is a criminal. As a hero I have to place you under arrest," I put on my best commanding voice but I can tell she isn't scared.
"Well in this place it's kill or be killed," She takes a cautious step towards me.
"What world is this?" My finger shakily hovers over the trigger, unsure if I should pull it.
"What world? Damn, you really are crazy. Welcome to earth," She smiles. All of a sudden, her hands lunge forward and grabs the gun, then my throat. The feeling of panic rushes over me again. Her blue eyes stare at me with a victorious gleam.
"I would kill you right now. But your weird ability may be of use to me," She lowers her gun and lets go of my throat. Swiftly, she strips the corpse of all it's clothes and hands them to me. I smell the stench of the mans body and the horrific smell of blood. However, I ignore the smell and slip on the clothes. It's a bit of a tight fit as the man was much scrawnier than I am. Years of training really helps your body grow in size.
"My name is Geonora by the way, Geonora Grace. And as far as I'm concerned, I am the only one who can save this world," She says with an uneasiness in her voice.
