Chapter 77 Who's right and who's wrong

"You should have just let me go" murmured Hoku over to the side of the carriage restrained, and unable to move.

"Huh!" Reply Lieg irritated at the fact but, he was literally about to ask the chief to remove his hands from his lungs his voice was getting coarse by the minute.

"Boy be quiet you don't know what you're talkin about" The Chief reply to him turning his head while his hand was still inside Lieg's chest, although this was a weird situation it's been going on for so long that he completely forgot.

"I was awake long enough to know how dire our situation is and the need for me at the church, was a gamble that you couldn't risk to allow my sister to take it… my baby sister".

Lieg replied staring at him annoyed, "First of all I hope you didn't assume that the chief bargain your sister for your safety?",

"What else does it look like!" How shouted.

As the chief was about to curse him out for even thinking that, Lieg started to giggle.

"… That, sounds funny to you?" Hoku mumbled confused by his reaction has did the chief who turned around surprised by it as well.

"No, no, that wasn't the funny part… sure it's tragic, what I found funny was a thought of you thinking so highly of yourself" Lieg commented his light giggle stopped mid-sentence shutting Hoku's mouth up shut.

"Boy, he's a bit confused right now" the Chief's said to Lieg,

"Sure, yes… don't think I don't know, he honestly believed that if they had a choice they would have just took only him and not his sister. When they clearly told him that they wanted him and his sister… as if he was so special that if he were taken by them, the whole village would have been spared this whole mess would have been cleared. With just the sacrifice of him and him, alone everyone would have been saved, a real true hero… is he really choosing that self imposed responsibility right now when his own sister made her choice to save his life?" Lieg asked.

"What… she went with Uncle, of her own free will… Pai's only eight… how could you allow a child to put herself … of course it's because I'm that so-called monster to the church, I'm something that the church fears so of course she would have left me" Hoku mumbled to himself facing the carriage floor.

"Boy!!" Tetso shouted irritated trying to shout back some sense into him.

A strong current of Breeze started to flow within the carriage, Lieg with his eyes glowing cold gold "Pathetic" Has a strong gust of air smashes his face from the floor lifting him up in a sitting position.

"Huh?",

"You have a lot to say with your face to the floor… Now can you look the chief dead in his eyes and repeat what you just said".

Hoku tried to say something but with each movement of his lips a quiet gos could you share, Tetso then turned around slowly with his hands still embedded in Lieg's lung twisting things around.

"… Okay… so you, ack… got something to say",

(I'm bleeding out too much… and, this is starting to hurt)

Lieg thought but didn't say anything to break their staredown.

"You told me my father was a hero… you told me that my mother was an angel",

"Ptttff" blurted Lieg behind them but when they're gaze reached him pretended as if he didn't do anything.

"Boy.Your father wasn't the best blacksmiths, Raga tried teaching him the family techniques… but he was unsuccessful 70% of the time in creating anyting close to his father's creation. But what you lacked in this craftsmanship made up for it in his skill with a blade and designing them specifically to suit his needs, you might say he was a born to be a soldier" Tetso explained.

"What does that have anything to do with me being Heretics child born of a monster",

"Then if you shut up and listen you would get it boy, Raga for the shame of your father being unskilled in his bloodline crafts. He made it very clear to him, he told him to leave is home and don't come back unless he become someone who he could be proud of, it was on his journey left stranded in the red patch without food or water where he was save by his so call Angel. She fed him, care for him and nursed him back to health while Raga was being stubborn, hoping that he would come back crying desperately trying to learn the craft… now that I think about it, it's been long coming with him; cuz he was never happy with the fact that he brought someone over to our Village, it didn't matter if it was a human or a demi-human. Your father was happy and not ashamed to be in love with a half human he made you out of that love, and even after being persecuted by the church that did not help him in his time of need not one bit. Forced to be their soldier, he won countless battles for them, telling us that it was his way of atoning for his sins?… while he knew that it was all bullshit, he only did it to protect you and you only".

"He hid the fact of your true bloodline from the church to protect you, he didn't even tell his own father to protect you, it was after your sister was born that you started to show signs of your heritage. Back then we were well in our peaceful times with the church, when we were visited by the holy guards we have seal that he was going to be rewarded for his battle victories. Only to be heard that he would be labeled a heretic for meeting and creating a demon spawn, I didn't knew it then… hell I just found out recently we had a spy amongst us from the church", Hoku clinched his fist in frustration as he mumbled

"Elika",

"Luckily it didn't have any proof, because before they came your mother had a special spelled to the family sword and to you; to hide your true nature, they had you tested at the church when you visited with Obi, when nothing came up they tested your sister, then finally when they got nothing did you say that to release your father from his imprisonment 'to question him'. Raga was the only one there in the capital while we stayed in the village, he came back broken and patched up with faith. I'm telling you this because I know what the church is capable of, and I want you to understand even if you believe your single sacrifice would have made a difference to them it would not boy. Whatever the church wants it gets, and if it doesn't get the results that they want they make it so; make no mistake I am more than willing to fight for your sister just as much as you even without the deal, I would have still gotten up and fight for her if she wanted it. But are you that blind in your own self-pity that you did not see how she chose to sacrifice her own well-being, to protect your life" Tetso asked.

"Are you expecting me to just go along with it then… I made a promise to myself last night but I will protect those closest to me, and now I've been betrayed by one and protected by the other the one I'm supposed to be protecting?… how do you expect me to feel, how do you want me to feel!?" Hoku cried.

"Betray, angry, vengeful those are all appropriate but not needed at this moment boy. I may have been wrong about his nature but I know the man name Raga, make no mistake fate might have patched up the broken pieces of a man who lost his son; but no amount of faking faith could stop him from protecting his granddaughter. Hopefully he holds in his heart more compassion for his granddaughter then resentment he has for his grandson as he blames you for his father's murder, and we're going to use that to our advantage once he make it to Naga I plan on personally going back to collect her by force if I have to" Tetso proclaims.

Shocking Hoku "Like I said boy those emotions should be kept in your heart, but never shown in your actions. Rampaging won't work with these people, there's always a better way a fighting you just have to know when to keep the blade off your neck and to your enemies" Tetso commented gripping his fist tightly with passion.

"Oacg, ouch, hooo… we get it, we get it now can we get back to the matter of hand… you know you stop taking off pieces of my lungs what's your fist" Lieg asked Tetso has they both turned around to look behind them, seen that the chief had turned her on his face while still within Lieg's chest; and as motivational as the speech was he was only able to find it very meaningful to him, until he started bleeding out all over the floor.

"Shit! Sorry boy. You Ok",

"Ayea a bit sleepy but okay I guess" Lieg replied sarcastically gasping a bit, as the lung that was penetrated finally stopped working.
