Chapter Seventeen - Stab You In The Heart

On the car ride home, it was dead silent nobody was talking at all. I assumed Adrienne and "dad", they were tired. Whenever Billie was about to go to bed he tried to hug me.

"Don't touch me!" I yelled, forcing his hand away from my body.

He walked out of the room a second later extremely upset, it appeared like he was about to cry. Phuh... Yeah, right. Go cry... I thought to myself, I really didn't care that he was my dad, I was wishing that he was dead, that was how angry I was.

I know, he'll be asleep by at least 3:00, that should be the time that I leave this place. I think I'll probably take a bike or something. I remembered Billie had an aqua blue bike in the garage. Maybe I should use that to leave here. I had a black messenger bag in the closet I'll pack up some of my stuff in that. I placed my shoebox, phone, charger, house key, 150 dollars (in cash), and a first aid kit in the backpack. I walked in the master bedroom to make sure they were asleep, they were fast asleep.

I opened the door and locked it back gently. I grabbed the bike which was the right size for me. I noticed there was a flashlight on it I turned it on and left. I drove on the sidewalks, I was so glad to finally leave the house!

--- Billie's POV ---

I woke up at around 3:30 that morning to makeup with Emily, I wanted her to understand that I didn't know that she would end up with an abusive stepfather or anything like that. I snuck into her room, I noticed her bed was empty. I assumed that she was probably using the bathroom; however, the bathroom light wasn't on. I looked everywhere around the house, I looked everywhere she would be; she wasn't anywhere to be found. I opened the door that was leading into the garage, everything appeared to be in their rightful place, a second later, I noticed my aqua colored bike was missing.

I rushed to the bedroom, "Wake up! Wake up, Emily's gone!" I hollered at Eighty.

"Oh my god, Billie. You can't be serious. I'll call the police right now!" She answered picking up the phone, close to her ear.

"Hello, this is Adrienne Armstrong, I'd like to report my daughter missing... She has blonde hair, sea blue eyes, she's about 5' 2"... The last thing we saw her wearing was a black Green Day shirt... Alright, thank you so much... Bye," Adrienne said sitting on the couch.

"I'll drive around and look for her. I'll try calling her," I said clenching the car keys one of hands and my phone in the other.

I tried calling her, no answer. Tears started to roll down my face, I thought repeatedly, Is she's ok? What is she doing? Where did she go?

I scurried into the car and drove around town to find her.

--- Emily's POV ---

I noticed Billie tried to call me multiple times. I ignored them, I thought I could possibly sleep on a park bench for tonight. I maneuvered the bike to stop in a park where there was a bench in the middle of it near the pavilion. I sat down my messenger bag and screamed, "MOM! I WISH YOU WOULD NOT LET HIM ADOPT ME!" I started to cry because, I missed him, he would comfort me whenever I felt upset, he even took me out of school. I mean, he understood me in a way that nobody else could, that might have make him a great dad, I thought.

I watched cars pass by the street, then I noticed one of the cars pass by the park stopped. A moment later, my phone rang, it was Billie, f**king Billie. I observed a person get out of the car and started to walk up to me. Whenever the person got closer I started running, I thought this person might have been a child predator.

"Hey! Wait! Stop!" The figure bellowed, I thought the voice sounded familiar.

I froze then the person, walked closer and the figured illuminated from the park light, it appeared to be Billie.

"Oh... God... DON'T EVER... RUN F**KING AWAY FROM... HOME AGAIN, EMILY!" Billie said trying to catch his breath from sprinting.

Billie plopped down on the park bench.

"Come here, Emily. Y' know, I'm extremely disappointed in you for running away from home, but at the same time, I would understand, I'm a complete a**hole. I know, probably you have just complete disdain for me," Billie said sounding like he was about to cry.

I plopped down at the other end of park bench, Billie scooted over and then rapped his arm around me. I hugged him, I felt kind of guilty that I had so much disdain for him, because if he didn't care for me would haven't been here. I'm pretty sure he didn't know that I would end up with Jason or anything like that.

"Well... Don't get all lovey-dovey on me, you're going to be grounded for about weeks, missy!" he said sternly looking at me in the eye.

"Yeah, I know, I brought that on to myself," I told Billie whenever when we started walking back into the car, wheeling the bike beside me.

"Well, I'm glad you see that now, Emily," Billie laughed.

"Hey Eighty, I found Emily! I know... She was at a park, sitting there on a bench... I know, I'll ground her for 2 weeks," Billie giggled.

I fell asleep as soon when we gotten back home. The next 2 weeks were torture. Billie made me do a load of chores like cleaning of the gutters, mowing the lawn, doing the dishes, dusting, and worst of all to the vacuum and mop the whole house.
