Chapter Twenty-One - King For A Day

Billie and I woke up around 4:00 that afternoon, which the concert was tomorrow.

"Hey, Emily... I'll order us some room service, okay?" He said in a faint whisper with his hand touching me on my back.

"Alright, Billie," I answered my voice sounding groggy.

"How does Dominoes pizza sound?" He asked holding the pamphlet of room service options which he gotten from the lobby, whenever we arrived earlier that day.

"I love Dominoes pizza, Billie!" I answered.

"Yeah? Well, I love Dominoes too! I especially like pepperoni New York style pizza, y'know?" Billie said picking up the black hotel phone from the night stand, dialing the number.

"Yes um... We would like one large pepperoni pizza, please... Okay, we are at the Holiday Inn... Thank you, bye," Billie said getting his wallet and credit card out of his jean pocket.

Within twenty minutes we heard a knock on the door which was the room service lady with the pizza.

"Thank you," Billie said smiling whenever she handed him the pizza.

"Your welcome sir," the lady answered speaking in a Canadian accent.

After Billie shut the door and placed the pizza on the table. He grabbed two paper plates and grabbed two slices of the pizza.

"Ugh... Hot..." Billie said fanning his mouth which was quite funny.

"Billie here's some Coke," I laughed while I opened the mini fridge.

"Ah... Thank you!" Billie said drinking the Coke.

The next morning I woke up to Billie putting his hand on my back and shaking me.

"Wake up baby, it's time to wake up. It's 9:00," Billie said as I watched his tattooed forearm shake me once more.

We were both ready to leave and check out around 10:30. We went into the tour bus, where we found Ryan sleeping in the tour bus chair.

"Hey, Ryan, wake up!" Billie shouted.

"O-oh, I'm-m s-sorry B-B-Billie," Ryan slurred, which we can tell that he was drunk recently.

"Ryan, do you think you can drive? If you don't I'll drive," Billie suggested staring at the wheel.

"Y-yeah, Billie. I'll tr-try," Ryan said pulling out.

We arrived to the venue where dozens and dozens of people convened together watching outside; then we go inside to go backstage. I watched as Green Day's instrument techs wheel Tré's drum kit out of the one of the trailers. Then Billie suddenly caught my attention.

"Hey Emily! Look how huge the stage is!" His voice echoed throughout the room.

"Yep! It is," I answered.

After Green Day done sound check and it was ready for them to come out on stage I could tell Billie was worried.

"Billie are you okay?" Mike asked Billie as he was pacing around.

"Ye-yeah... I-I-I'm fine, Mike, " Billie murmured.

"Well, it's okay, Bill. We're here for ya," Mike said as Tré and him started hugging Billie.

"Well, honey, we're about to go on, here's a kiss," Billie said puckering his lips to kiss me.

After the guys left, Sara and Brittney stayed backstage while I went to watch the guys from the audience. After I walked from the backstage, one the security guards helped me down from the and brought me into the pit.

I noticed Billie was dripping sweat singing and playing Hitchin' a Ride. I couldn't believe that my father was up there on stage playing in one of my favorite bands of all time. This man changed and saved my life more times than I could count. That night would be one of the most life-changing nights in my life.

After the show was over, Billie had a white towel around his neck.

"Ugh... I'm so sweaty. You like the show, Emily?" Billie asked drying his face with the towel.

"Yeah, I loved it, Billie. Just like I love you but more," I told him watching his sweat filled t-shirt pulled me in for a hug.

"I love you so much," Billie said about the cry.

That night we entered the tour bus and Ryan pulled out of the venue that night and I fell fast asleep.
